Shandin Hills Golf Club

Little more direction from the green Marshall, golfers from range would walk on to the back 9 and interfere with pace of game. The course is very confusing at the 10th and after with little guidance on where to go, first time golfers get lost every time. There is no one monitoring pace of the course. Our cart died around 6pm on the 17th hole, called clubhouse multiple times and no answer.. luckily a Good Samaritan pushed us in.

Terrible conditions. Starting on the tee box. Bumpy, not flat, not kept up aesthetically. Why on earth would there be divots and chunks taken out of the tee box on a 500 yard par 5? Are you teeing off with your 9 iron? Fairways had major cancer spots and patchy. Greens were aerated recently, (and the course did not notify of that). Sand and punch marks everywhere. Not trimmed down. I've never played on greens so fluffy. Soooo hard to sink even a 5 footer. Doubt ill be back.

Was disappointed in the course conditions, and even more so that I nor anyone in my group was notified that the greens were just aerated and had sand all over them. I would’ve chosen to play a different course had I known and then played this course at a later date. The rough was patchy, and so were some of the fairways too, the only positive was the $43 included a cart, and breakfast burrito and drink.

Course is not I good shape. The tee boxes and greens are rough. They also allowed a group to play as five on a Saturday morning. Slowed down the entire course!

Complete waste of a weekend tee time. Course is overbooked with no management of groups, so after 5 hours of watching everyone hack up the course - leaving divots and pitch marks behind them - we only got through 13 holes. Every tee box has a 10-15 minute wait, so you’re basically warming up on every hole. The only plus for this course is that the green fees include a breakfast burrito that isn’t bad for being free. Practice facilities need rehab, fairways need seeding, greens are inconsistent and chewed up. I’d rather play Arrowhead down the street - which says more than enough about Shandin.

Good price good service. Fast moving. What else i can say?

The first 3-4 holes are a little rough (tee boxes and greens), but the rest of the course is very nice. I thought the fairways and greens on the back nine were in much better condition than the front. The hotdog and drink included with the greens fee was a nice touch. It was 104 degrees but the course was not overly dried out. Some of the bunkers were fairly hard packed due to the dry condition though.

Enjoyed the day golfing with my son. He (19) is learning and enjoying the game. we played the full 18 holes in less than 4 hours which is a good pace. Friendly check in staff and good and friendly refreshment server. The only recommendation I have is to have a marshall in the field. Most golfers are conscientious and know what to do. I saw a person/player in front of us (single player/white/6' tall gray/blonde hair) driving the cart through the green and bunkers? tire tracks on the green? This guy is vandalizing a beautiful course. Tried to catch up with the guy during and after the match but could not find him at the club house or parking lot.
