Fun course - straight forward layout
Enjoyed playing this course - especially a day after playing the exhausting Chambers Bay . Couse was in excellent shape , lush fairways - greens a bit bumpy because of aeration. Fairly straight forward layout .
Pace of play a bit slow because of group in front ( 2 older couples) - but they let us play thru after the 7th hole.
Very slow day
I like this course. However, I got behind a group of men's club tourney members that were very slow. Pace of play was atrocious for here. 5 hours is not acceptable. Saw the cart lady once on the 8th hole, and not again. Almost saw her on 16, but she turned around and went back towards 7.
The greens here are in fantastic shape. Pretty quick and roll true.
Still a great value for the money.
Nice gem of a course, great experience!
Nice course. Challenging but fun! Lounge, food and amenities all top notch. Good warm up areas, only drawback would be if you play optic yellow or green balls. The range can deposit balls on to #1 and #18.... not a big deal though.
Nice Course, Except For the Range Balls on #1 Fairway!
I convinced my golf buddy to go for a 7 a.m. tee time at Capitol City; I've only played there once before, during a frozen day in February (literally frozen, which was big time fun!). Anyway, as light drizzle fell and the cloud cover kept sunrise from having an effect, we teed off. I was playing a bright orange ball, so no problem for me, but my buddy discovered that his yellow ball was amid 30 or so scattered range balls sprinkling the first fairway! It was dark enough that he had to walk up to each ball to determine if it was his. He finally gave up to salvage some semblance of pace of play...
The rest of the round went better; course was in decent shape, and we finished in a little over three hours. The Fire Creek Grill serves an excellent breakfast, by the way! We'll be back!
Fun course, with a great place to share a pint some food and some laughs after the round.
Fun course, with a great place to share a pint some food and some laughs after the round. Will certainly play again.
Typical muni
Really basic course with no frills except for 11. Greens were in fabulous shape. Needed a marshal on the course. Foursome ahead of us was two full holes back of the group ahead of them by the third hole. They picked up the pace one a guy played through them and we hit a couple of approach shots as they stood on the green chatting. Drink cart girl made fast rounds.
Pro Shop
The course is good enough most of the time. However, even as a "Member", I paid $40.00 on Friday for a round at 1:38pm. Meanwhile, the Golf Now App allows one to book at rates between $15-$20. I'll not likely pay for a Membership again. Additionally, there is an employee there who will refuse to give a single rider a cart. He goes out of his way to make sure that "you" know that it's not going to happen and that "you're crazy" for even thinking about it. Top notch service.
Love this course
I'm lucky enough to live near this course. Green fees are inexpensive and a great value. The course layout is very forgiving but still provides a challenge. Everybody is warm and friendly and more than willing to help. My tee time was at 1:30 and the Seahawks were playing at 5, the course was pretty much wide open. The driving range, putting area, chipping area and sand trap practice area are very well kept. I'll be here next week!
Great course for the price
One of the better course in the area; probably the best course for the price.
Capitol City
The course is fun and fair.
The staff could be a little more friendlier.
A ranger would have been nice as play could have been faster. The group in front of us was keeping up with us instead of the group in front of them.
Enjoyable round
I teamed up with 3 guys that I had never met before and had a great afternoon. The course was in very good shape and the pace of play was right at 4 hours.
I always enjoy playing at Capitol City and their after the round food and drinks are above average.
A Real Bargain
Always in good condition: smooth, fast greens, good roll on fairways. large number of huge sand bunkers make for a real challenging round. Fun course!
Hard times
I have played this course quite a few times & have usually enjoyed my rounds but this trip was a little hard and spotty. The fare ways were hard with over seed patches throughout the course And several bunkers had minimal sand and were extremely hard. Especially the right hand bunker by the 9th green. The best thing about the course this trip were the greens, which were in pretty good shape.
Well-kept and managed!
First time at Capitol City. Well patronized with activity throughout the course and other facilities. Greens are in good conditions, though certain spots on the fairways are bare given the dry weather over the last 2 months. Even pace of play. Overall, the club and course are well managed.
Great course for the money
Great deal on golf now. Course was in great shape. Played in 3 1/2 hours. Green ran true and were fast. Worth playing if you are in the area.
