Great winter course!
Not a bad lie all day, greens fast and firm
Great value
Playing in the cold
We like to play Cap City in the winter because you can play on the greens even during extreme cold. They cover the 1st 7 greens at night so there is less of a frost delay.
Great Winter Course
It was really really windy but the course played nicely. The greens were a little slow and we were playing behind a tournament so pace was also slow.
All in all when I'm in the Olympia area this winter I'll pay here a few times.
Do not play on Thursday after 12pm
This course has a Men's Group that tees off at Noon on Thursday's and play is very slow. It took over three hours to play nine holes.
Thank you for your review. We do have a men's club group that plays on Thursdays. Unfortunately, they can be slow on occasion. I will use your review to prove to them there is an issue. I play in this group and it is unacceptable they slow down play for the rest of our customers.
Thanks again,
Steve - G.M.
Great value, beautiful day, nice people
I really enjoyed my afternoon round at Capital City Golf Course. Fairways and greens are in good (not great) condition. There are large areas of very thin grass to bare ground in the rough and near the greens. All things considered, the course is very playable and with the very nice staff it was a great afternoon!
Good price
Course layout runs through neighborhood but fairways wide enough for those less than straight shots. Driving range sits between 1st and 9th holes so keep trackof your ball or only use a white ball there. Many of the greens was missing grass and was hard packed dirt off greens and greenside bunkers. Greens themselves were in great condition and ball rollout was good. Clubhouse was nice and the counter staff very helpful. I play here from time to time but drive over an hour to get there. The price is par for the coarse or even a bargain. I will certainly continue to come to play.
Fun Course
Excellent condition and fun to play.
Awesome course
Our TGA Tournament was held here and it was a great course to play. It was very dried out but I think it was done on purpose. If you weren't in the fairway then the ball will run hard. Just have to watch out for some holes where its tight and houses come into play.
A great course to shoot some good low numbers.
A gem in Olympia
I didn't pay full price so I don't know the value to cost ratio. But I did book it through hot deal and for that price the course is amazing! Greens are in great shape, fairways are in good shape and get a lot of run out, didn't have to wait on anyone, and staff was very nice.
A lot of fun
Had a good time there. Nice and long, pretty decent greens.
10th Game 2016 at Capitol City Golf Club/course
Ahh my tenth game out this year. A little challenging to find the course but well worth it.
The fairways were in great condition. Hazards would be the homes lining the fairways, some trees, a signature hole water and a drainage ditch along side of the course next to the road running adjacent.
The greens I felt could have been trimmed slightly more for a better consistency in putting. They were very fast one direction and slow thee other.
I didn't do as well as I did last week at Gold Mountain, but I certainly had the set-up-shots that could have resulted in a great game score. I had 5 birdie attempts, hit the fairway on drive 15/18, 1 eagle attempt. I birdied 10 and parred 1 & 6.
There were 3 par 5's and that was nice to have over the usual 2 per course.
Monday it's off to play a round at Riverbend in Kent. Now it's time to watch the LPGA and my girl Ariya with her sister.
God bless and best of golf everyone!
Remember to fix divets and ball marks on greens.
*cheers*
Holiday golfing, busy but enloyable.
Course in good shape, consistently well maintained. Hadn't been there in a while, in fact haven't been out since being diagnosed w/CMML. Well it was great to get out & go 18, boy was I sore afterwards lol. It was nice to see that CC still cares to put out a quality product. Even on a busy Memorial Day it was a pleasure!
Always nice
Capital City is a nice dry, well kept, fairly easy cours.
Great Value.
I played Capital City for the 10th time and the course was in the best condition that I have ever seen. The greens were fast and in great shape. I would have to say that the fairways were in outstanding condition given that the course is public and gets heavy play. The only problem is the club house. I brought my wife and the Portable Bathrooms were in terrible condition and un-stocked if you know what I mean. For men, that is not a huge problem, but for my wife... Bad, Bad, Bad.
Nice track
This was probably one of the best manicured tracks we have been to this year. Played in just over four hours, great greens and very nice players and staff!
Thanks for a great day.

Spring is here
Glad the weather here in the NW is starting to warm up. I played Capital City GC in Olympia yesterday and was very surprised to see how nice the greens and traps were already. I had a nice round even for this 23 HC with a few local members who made it even more enjoyable ( shout out to Tom, Steve & Ethan). The only down side to the round was that the club house & restaurant are under construction. Even with that said it was more than worth the trip from Gig Harbor.
Fun Course
My first time playing Capitol City. It was a very pretty course that has wide open fairways. It was a great experience and I will be playing it again!
Thank you for your review. We pride ourselves in maintaining a well groomed course and I'm very pleased you enjoyed your round. We hope to see you again!
