Lakeridge
Classic case of overbooking. I got to the course and they told me when I book on golfnow that I'm actually booking for the next tee time. When in fact they over booked. We tee'd off at 3:17 and finished the 9th hole at 7:30. There were three groups of foursomes waiting at every tee block. The marshals did nothing to improve the pace of play. Instead of being offered a rain check for the back nine we were told to replay the front 9 and given a $10 course credit.
Spring time conditions
It was seasonally wet(mid April), lots of big l puddles. Greens were OK. Service is very friendly. It's a good value course. I'll be back.
Great layout with tempting shortcut challenge
Just played last Sunday in November, I am very appreciated with the condition of the course during this time of the year.
Looking forward to play again next spring.
Great late season round
For the price, you can't ask for anything better. Other than the expected leaves , the course was in great shape and we had a great time.
Lakeridge in the fall
Took advantage of above average temps yesterday. Disappointed with the condition of the course. greens getting punched. Not filled in. Putting was like a Plinko game. Tees shabby, fairways very patchy. Non-punched greens ok. Not a good impression.
Average course
Great scenery but not worth the full price green fees. Fall season lacks staff, played 18 holes on the most beautiful day of the fall and the beer cart showed up at the 17th hole, only because we asked the Marshall. Average course with very fast greens.
A Favorite of Mine
Interesting layout. Challenging but fair with a few holes that are a pretty good test of your skills. Course in good shape aside from some spotty fairway conditions due no doubt to the summer drought. Will be back.
Course condition
The course condition is just ridiculously bad... There were literally no grass on the fairway n the bunkers are full of weed. It's the worse experience I have had.
Downhill
This course used to be immaculate, the dry summer has taken its toll, some fairways in a terrible condition
Course is dried out
Course is dried out making fairways hard and with little grass. Greens were better but inconsistent. Been awhile since I played this course but last time was much better shape.
Course was really dry, ground cracking!!!!
Course was horrible. Don't recommend to anyone.
Nice
Very nice. Very challenging
Getable yet challenging.
Great deal. Layout is accessible. Elevation changes offer nice views, big drives and course management. Greens ran true. Some dormancy and burnout on fairways due to weather is expected this time of year (especially this year). Will definitely be back.
Great layout, always a fun track
Have played Lake Ridge many, many times and always go back for the layout and challenge of the holes. There are several good driving holes, and number 14 remains one of the hardest par 4's in the GTA.
Course is very dry right now, but then again, so are all of the courses in the GTA this year.
Singular biggest complaint about the course is the condition of the cart paths, which has gone from poor to worse over the last few years. Sooner or later this has to be addressed; otherwise, this is a nice course to play and I'd recommend it to anyone.
DRY DRY DRY!!!
Hitting off the fairways were like hitting off hard cement just terrible. I understand the weather as been hot however other courses in the area as maintained reasonable moisture. Look over the fairway on the 18th hole I just wanted to get it over with.
Just terrible maintainable. They need to do Better
A hidden gem
Lakeridge Links is one course I wish I was closer to. It's a challenging layout from any of the tees so it can accommodate golfers of all levels. I wish I could have given the course an "Excellent" rating, however, given the lack of rain from Mother Nature there were some brown spots on the fairways, but that is certainly typical of most courses this year and not really a fault of the course management. The greens were in great shape and rolled true. Now, if we could only get everyone to fix their ball marks on the green (a pet peeve of mine) to help the greens stay true. Bottom line, a great course and a bargain to boot !
Ok, but to long to play
Warning .... If plan to play Lakeridge Links be careful of the radar trap as you go north on Lakeridge Road between Hwy 7 to 407 bridge. For less than 30 seconds it becomes a 60km zone. Once you go over the 407 bridge it reverts to 80km. Oddly enough going southbound in that same spot is 80km zone.
As for the course ... nothing special. The greens were ok, but there were many ball marks particularly on the par 3's. If you plan to warm up on the practice range before the round the cost is $6 for 30 balls. The range grass isn't great and be prepared to hit a few "Maxfli" balls. The course gives off the appearance of being cheap. For example, the ball washers don't even have towels. If they do, they are old and torn. If you are lucky, some ball washer might have a hook for the towels. The course also needs to improve the grass on the tee blocks. Surprisingly, the pace of play was slow considering the course didn't look busy. On a few occasions there were three groups on one hole. It took over 4 1/2 hours to play, and we didn't see the marshal until we hit our tee shots on the 18th hole. My advice, only play there if you get a very good price to play.
