A hidden gem
Lakeridge Links is one course I wish I was closer to. It's a challenging layout from any of the tees so it can accommodate golfers of all levels. I wish I could have given the course an "Excellent" rating, however, given the lack of rain from Mother Nature there were some brown spots on the fairways, but that is certainly typical of most courses this year and not really a fault of the course management. The greens were in great shape and rolled true. Now, if we could only get everyone to fix their ball marks on the green (a pet peeve of mine) to help the greens stay true. Bottom line, a great course and a bargain to boot !
Ok, but to long to play
Warning .... If plan to play Lakeridge Links be careful of the radar trap as you go north on Lakeridge Road between Hwy 7 to 407 bridge. For less than 30 seconds it becomes a 60km zone. Once you go over the 407 bridge it reverts to 80km. Oddly enough going southbound in that same spot is 80km zone.
As for the course ... nothing special. The greens were ok, but there were many ball marks particularly on the par 3's. If you plan to warm up on the practice range before the round the cost is $6 for 30 balls. The range grass isn't great and be prepared to hit a few "Maxfli" balls. The course gives off the appearance of being cheap. For example, the ball washers don't even have towels. If they do, they are old and torn. If you are lucky, some ball washer might have a hook for the towels. The course also needs to improve the grass on the tee blocks. Surprisingly, the pace of play was slow considering the course didn't look busy. On a few occasions there were three groups on one hole. It took over 4 1/2 hours to play, and we didn't see the marshal until we hit our tee shots on the 18th hole. My advice, only play there if you get a very good price to play.
Need a coupon for Value
Lakeridge Links is a decent layout in ok condition. The tee boxes need work as they are pitted, not flat and have holes.
The rest of the Course is ok. To play this Course at full cost is not worthwhile. There are better values in the area.
However if you get a discount to around $50.00 then it is decent value and an interesting enough track.
A good course
Easy course if you are a good putter.
Great place to play
Great course, challenging had a great time
Indian summer gilf
Great value through Golf Now for this course. Busy but kept moving. Course in great shape but as expected we played through winter maintenance on fairways and greens.
Lakeridge Links a course you have to play!!!!
The course, being that it is November, was in fantastic shape. I have played this course before and it just keeps getting better each time. I am looking forward to play this course again soon. Thanks so much for a great day!!!
Great day
The two courses are in great shape and the staff very helpful. I'm likely going to buy my membership there for next season
Always solid
Great conditions and beautiful this time of year(fall),Great challenge for all handicaps . Staff is always welcoming and genuine.
Very good challenge
I enjoy playing this course. It is not gimmicky and is a very reasonable test of golf ability. Club selection is key to scoring well here.
My hubbies birthday game
Pace was way too slow and no marshals out to try and move the slower golfers forward. Took over 5plus hours for two of us to play 18.
carts!!!
i've played this track many times...yet all the carts still don't have covers on them. a course this nice should have covers..for your bags!!! It was potential scattered rain..at times hard that day, fortunately it did not rain but if it had, everything would have been soaked. "Please get covers for your carts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "
Good course
Well maintained course. Allowed early tee off as arrived early. Beverage girl rarely seen.
Great First Experience
the view from some of the holes is breathtaking.
The course is just challenging enough for my level of play (mid nineties).
Green and traps well maintained.
Not really a links style course.
only one drawback
The only drawback on this course is the condition of some of the cartpaths especially on the holes where you have to fool the cart path. lots of pot holes and uneven pavement. Great course if you are walking, fairways and greens in excellent shape
early is better here
Glad we teed off at 7am. Course was in good shape. A few areas under maintenance but overall very nice. Good challenge. One note, was playing with my mother who is an average golfer. We played the course in 4hrs20min but the Marshall was on us all morning to pick up the pace, not sure if they're expecting a 4 hour round here as the course was not a short one. Will be back but as the starting block had a line up as we were coming off will definitely make sure I tee off early.
Great conditions, average price
Played on a weekend morning, fantastic pace. Didn't even wait once. Greens are in excellent conditions, so are the fairways. Some wet spots around few green due to all the rain we had, but overall great track. Price could have been a little cheaper on weekend mornings but can't complain either as it wasn't overly pricey. Cart paths are in dear need for repairs. Luckily it was scattered when I played there. Paths are bumpy and have lot of large "Sinkholes" lol
Like the course.......pathetic pace
Played plenty of time........this time was the worst for pace of play - 5hrs! Not a marshall within 100 miles. They must have overbooked.
They seemed surprised that someone might want a hot dog or sausage at 1pm on a Saturday - none available! Wow, sure seems like something pretty easy to predict - full course, sunny Saturday. Also, one beer cart for 36 holes seems odd.......
A good course. I would play again but might be a while. We will see. Just might need to bring your own lunch!
