Savannah Golf Links
About
Sprawling across rolling terrain, Savannah Golf Links features several dramatic elevation changes and several elevated tees and greens. Golfers will be sure to come across many uneven lies. At 6,213 yards from the back tees, it is not a long golf course but it puts a premium on accuracy in order to get a good store, making it a true shot-maker's golf course. Savannah Golf Links offers a variety of challenges, appealing to both low and high handicappers. The most notably difficult hole is the par-4 sixth. This 362-yard hole is a dogleg right with a small landing area that requires a second shot that will carry over water to a postage stamp green with a bunker placed in front.

No carts??? Wtf
I called to confirm cart, got there & said it was to wet. My time got changed without my consent. & they tried to pair my threesome up with a single. I don't want to play with a stranger. Would you want a stranger at your table at a restaurant? I think not. Overall I had a good time except for all the walking
good time course
course was in very good condition
moderately challenging so can have serious game or enjoy a day of comradarie
Hi Luis! Thanks for the positive review and we hope to see you again before the snow flies!
Savannah
The course is in great shape, conditions were perfect.. All staff members were very friendly and helpful.. Had a fun round, will definitely be back
Hi Jonathan! Thank you so much for the review! We hope to see you again soon!
TOO SLOW would not go back!
The course has some great holes and in good condition. The greens are challenging. The biggest problem is the holes from the white tees are too short for the men's or the long ball hitting ladies. Everyone has to wait on all the par 4's until the group ahead is on the green. For the interesting holes where there is any hazard to go over it is an even longer wait. I guess most men should play the course from the blues or back further if you are use to playing whites.
As a lady playing the WHITE TEES if was too short a hole for most par 4's. Not ever playing the course before we looked at the overall yardage and figured the whites were the correct tee blocks for us. The par 5's were very long which made the overall yardage the grand total that is was.
This Course NEEDS a MARSHALL willing to getting people moving quicker as the holes are never going to change.
Thank you for your honest review and for the compliments! You make some very good points!
It is true that pace of play is one of our biggest challenges on busy weekends. For this reason we have a 'players assistant' on course at all times keeping play moving to the best of our ability. We do apologise if your round was longer than you deem acceptable.
We do hope that you'll choose to see us again and suggest that if pace of play is a concern, choose an off-peak or early morning tee-time to ensure a speedy round!
Thanks Again!
Chris
Good Round
Good course Ho t Weather!!
Thanks dquantz! We very much appreciate the positive review! See you again soon!
Tough layout.
Course was in excellent shape considering the dry weather we've had.
Thank you for the positive review! With the super hot days and lack of rain, the grounds crew have been working tirelessly to keep everything as green as possible! I have passed along your kudos to the boys! Thanks Again!
Great course but lots of blind holes
Good course for the $ but very tight and lots of sharp short dog leg par 4s.
Happy to play this course.
Short yardage but very challenging. A true test.
Great shape!
Beauty day...havent played here in years...course is in great shape!
A great layout
The course is not long - blue tees only 5800 yards, but is quite challenging even at that yardage. Lots of elevation changes, a good number of water hazards, some forced carries and a few well-placed bunkers. A really interesting mix of holes, with no two alike. Good course conditions and a pleasure to play.
GOLFERCARLOS
this is a great course to play any time one of my best courses to play around here
Thanks GolferCarlos! It's so nice to see our hard work returned and rewarded with positive reviews such as this!
Not really links
This is a track that forces you to make golf shots, lots of variety both off the tee and from fairway!! Easy course if you hit it in the right places, punishing if you make mistakes! Greens were a slow but to be expected with the winter we had, not a true links course with all the trees and such but i love it and say anyone who loves golf should play it at least twice!!
Hi Tony! Thanks for the positive review! Yes, we have intentionally kept the greens a little longer as we are currently over-seeding with bent grass. We do this in order to make the putting surface healthier and truer overall. Faster speeds are just around the corner! Thanks Again!
Beautiful Course!
Amazing Golf Course with lightning fast greens!
Thank you so much for your kind words Andrew! We're glad you had a great time at Savannah Golf Links!
Loved this course
Played the white tees and score card rating said 66. With the elevation changes, bunkers, water hazards and tiered greens they are a lot better than I. It is a challenging course but very enjoyable. One of the prettiest courses I have seen in this area.
Not your typical links course
Very green, with a lot of trees, found it weird that there is burnt wood everywhere in the tree areas. Par 3's are really short, doesn't make for a challenge, I've seen Longer par 3s at a chip and put.
Overall though a great course and I would defiantly play again even though it's fairly short.
Thank you for the positive review. Just thought I would comment on the "burnt wood" issue. As Savannah is partnered with and works very closely with the Nature Conservancy, it was their recommendation that we conduct a "controlled burn" in order to knock-back the undesired foliage and re-stimulate healthy growth. It is all part of the plan to make us better going forward and have a positive impact on our local environment. Thanks Again.
Great value, fun course
First time playing the course and had a great time (despite playing way below my abilities!). The course had challenging holes but nearly always had a safer line or area to play too, errant shots were findable unless your ball goes for a swim.
Condition of course was very good and was pleasing to the eye. A few steep inclines if walking but nothing a fairly fit golfer shouldn't be able to tackle.
Great autumn round of golf!
The weather was ideal for golfing and the course was in great shape. The course was well maintained and kept free of leaves for the most part. We played our round in under 4 hours. It will be on our list for a return visit.
Savannah Review
One of my favourite courses. Challenging and tight.
Nice views.
Great first visit
Local knowledge is a great benefit when playing this course. First 9 was very difficult (lots of hazards), and back 9 was relatively easier. Great hole assortment. Fast, difficult greens. Staff were excellent. Very impressed overall. Will be back again! A shot makers course, less so for bombers.
Thank you for your review. I am sorry that you had a less than ideal experience at Savannah Golf Links. Unfortunately this fall has brought lots of precipitation. Despite our excellent drainage systems, on days of heavy saturation, we are unable to put golf carts on the golf course in order to maintain the conditions that we hold as standard. If this is the case, it is our policy to notify you in advance to the best of our abilities as we understand many of our clients require a power cart to play.
I am unsure how your tee time would have been changed but I assure you this is an isolated incident. The only explanation I could give is that there was a duplicate booking made at the exact same time where one group was shifted to the next open space.
In regards to the single, it is necessary when we are busy to pair groups together. Yes, this sometimes means putting a single with a threesome. If a customer has an issue and our tee sheet allows, we will always try to find an alternative group that does not mind taking a stranger along for the round.
Thanks again for the review. I am glad that you enjoyed the day and hope to see you next time!
Chris
