About
Whitetail Golf Club enjoys a landscape of rolling hills covered with mature trees, creeks, and ponds. Originally opened as a short nine-hole course, the layout was transformed into an 18-hole championship design in 2004. The update added a level of challenge to an already playable golf course. The first five holes are new, as are the last four. The layout has tree-lined fairways that demand accuracy and there are two tricky carries over water on the opening hole and the 17th. Both of these are par 3s that feature significant greenside bunkering that will test the iron play of even the most seasoned golfers. Whitetail Golf Club's sixth and 14th are two par 4s from the original nine that are particularly memorable since they play much longer than the indicated yardage.

Golfer Reviews
Beaut
Loved the course, very nice lay out of the course, has some very long fairways, can be challenging if you don't hit straight. At every hole, it explains how to hit your tee shot and the approach to the green, and listen to what they tell you!!! Coming back soon
Nice Layout - worth the drive
Very nice layout. Course was is great condition. I would put this course on par with Renfrew golf course.
Beautiful Scenary
This is by far one of my favorite courses in the area.
It is a 1/2 hr. drive for me, but, well worth it.. I have walked the course in previous years, but, I recommend taking a cart on hot days as the hills become very challenging.. The vistas are breathaking, especially in the fall..The staff are very friendly & accommodating - makes for an enjoyable day.
fairways
Weeds in the fairways and turf not in great condition. Played this course 2 years ago and would have given it 5 stars. Looks like they're not spending the money on fertilizer and week killers. Too bad, it's a really good layout.Ottaw
whitetail golf course review
tons of poison ivy in the trees made it difficult to find stray balls. they also swiped my credit card for possible damages to the power cart. I guess they bought all brand new power carts this year and are worried about players damaging the carts. I found this policy kind of strange. they should check the carts before and after you play instead of getting authorization on a credit card.
Worth a Round or Two
A challenging course in great shape at an exceptional price.
Country Gem
My husband and I live in Ottawa and happily make the commute to Whitetail a few times each summer. This picturesque, well maintained course offers unique challenges on virtually every hole. Unlike a links course, this country gem offers holes individually carved from the surrounding woods. You will be challenged by a variety of hazards as well as undulating fairways and are likely to need every club in the bag. This is a great value for money course.
Fast Fast Soft Greens
Great gem in the Ottawa Valley. If you want Fast Fast greens that are Really soft this the course!
Over 5hrs
Course almost seems late recovering from a nasty winter. Some fairways are quite sparse. Have played this course when conditions were much better. This had to be an exception but our round took over 5hrs just two of us an no marshall in site.
Beautiful course, waited a lot
The course was well kept and beautiful. It took is over 5 hours to play. Waited almost 1.5 hours in total between holes.
well worth the drive
Excellent day and the course was in good condition still some winter kill on the second green but other wise great.
White Tail Challenging
Course was in great shape. All holes have either elevated tee or elevated green. Walking not recommended as some long distances between holes and terrain is very hilly. Very good mix of holes. Strongly recommend playing here.
Challenge for all Levels
Great course, some risk and reward holes. Enjoy the fact that you have to think your way around the course, it is not just a grip it a rip it however there are those golden opportunities to do so. Recommend it if you enjoy a good traditional style course.
Always a treat
Have made the one hour trip here many times and have never been disappointed. Staff is welcoming and friendly (big plus).
Very challenging track with excellent, receptive greens in mid season.
2 or 3 iffy holes, but most places have those and at their prices, definitely a bargain.
Definitely Not Impressed
I am genuinely mystified at the large number of positive reviews for this course:
The course is rough, unsophisticated and amateurish in design. Too many annoying natural obstacles that take the fun out of playing. First hole is a par 3....go figure.
Many bare and rocky sections on uneven or undulating fairways. Far too many ditches, bush, trees and swamp on narrow fairways which take the fun out of playing. It's almost like the owners cut corners to save money when designing the course. Greens cut way too short. Putts rolled as if on concrete. Rough areas are unkempt.
There are much better, more refined courses in the area. I do not recommend.

This course has some tricky hazards.
This golf course is in excellent condition and very well maintained. A real pleasure to play.
The staff are friendly and the course is well maintained
The course is well maintained an in excellent condition. The views from some tees are awesome. It is a challenging course for a average golfer like myself. If you get a chance to play it you won't be disappointed.
Hi Corgitoy,
We here at Whitetail Golf Club appriciate every review that is posted on this site. I see you played here on November 7th last year and you were unhappy with the experience. When it is that late in the season we do have a any maintenance staff anymore and the course is not up to par as the winter approaches. We would like to invite you to experience this wonderful course in prime time when the conditions are dramatically better. There is a reason why everyone writes great reviews about this course and why we were voted the #1 Public Golf Course in Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec 2 years in a row. Unfortunally when it is time to shut down for the year the course standards do fall short of what they should be but that is the nature of living in Canada. Please respond to info@whitetailgolfclub.ca and we can make your next round here a pleasureable one.
