Whitetail Golf Club
About
Whitetail Golf Club enjoys a landscape of rolling hills covered with mature trees, creeks, and ponds. Originally opened as a short nine-hole course, the layout was transformed into an 18-hole championship design in 2004. The update added a level of challenge to an already playable golf course. The first five holes are new, as are the last four. The layout has tree-lined fairways that demand accuracy and there are two tricky carries over water on the opening hole and the 17th. Both of these are par 3s that feature significant greenside bunkering that will test the iron play of even the most seasoned golfers. Whitetail Golf Club's sixth and 14th are two par 4s from the original nine that are particularly memorable since they play much longer than the indicated yardage.

Challenge for all Levels
Great course, some risk and reward holes. Enjoy the fact that you have to think your way around the course, it is not just a grip it a rip it however there are those golden opportunities to do so. Recommend it if you enjoy a good traditional style course.
Always a treat
Have made the one hour trip here many times and have never been disappointed. Staff is welcoming and friendly (big plus).
Very challenging track with excellent, receptive greens in mid season.
2 or 3 iffy holes, but most places have those and at their prices, definitely a bargain.
Definitely Not Impressed
I am genuinely mystified at the large number of positive reviews for this course:
The course is rough, unsophisticated and amateurish in design. Too many annoying natural obstacles that take the fun out of playing. First hole is a par 3....go figure.
Many bare and rocky sections on uneven or undulating fairways. Far too many ditches, bush, trees and swamp on narrow fairways which take the fun out of playing. It's almost like the owners cut corners to save money when designing the course. Greens cut way too short. Putts rolled as if on concrete. Rough areas are unkempt.
There are much better, more refined courses in the area. I do not recommend.
I
This course has some tricky hazards.
This golf course is in excellent condition and very well maintained. A real pleasure to play.
Rustic Beauty
This course is a natural, rustic beauty. Lots of challenges for the average female golfer - distance and water, but worth the effort.
The staff are friendly and the course is well maintained
The course is well maintained an in excellent condition. The views from some tees are awesome. It is a challenging course for a average golfer like myself. If you get a chance to play it you won't be disappointed.
Worth the drive
Played Whitetail at a great rate thru Golfnow.com ($20 cart included). A course of this quality would be a deal for >$100 in any major city. Greens were fast and hard to read in spots. Course has an abundance of majestic holes and views. Will be returning this fall for the scenery and more golf.
Incredible greens
The greens are incredible. Very soft yet fast. Perfect rolls-be sure to read them right!!!
Great golf course to play.
This golf course is worth while driving a bit farther.
The fairways and greens are challenging.
Enjoy playing it and will be back.
A++
careful course can eat u up... beautiful vistas...
Beautiful course
Love this course, love the wilderness feel to it. Love how many trees there are.
Highly suggest taking a cart vs walking, lots of hills.
One of the best in the Valley
This is a great course for a nice challenge. It is not too difficult but has some challenging narrow fairways. The scenery is great and the course is well laid out. I recommend taking a cart because the walk can be long and there are some challenging hills to climb. There are also a couple shorter holes that play long because of obstacles around.
This is one of my favorite courses in the valley.
Great value. Beautiful layout. Every hole is separate, the only other golfers you see are the ones in front and those behind.
We love it here and keep coming back. Great value and golf experience.
Excellent challenging course. In great shape and speed of play is good. Excellent course for the price.
Played course in 4 hours. Course is challenging and in great shape. Great course outline on rolling hills. Great glof course for the price. Would recommend to all levels of players.
This is the most scenic course in the Valley
All staff are knowledgeable and friendly...they all make you feel welcome.
Enjoyable, course was fair for the average golfer.
Best course I've ever golfed with a cart for $ 8.00
This course is challenging yet fair and playable.
Beautiful views and terrain. The course was in great shape especially the greens. The hills and elevation changes provided a very good golfing experience. We totally enjoyed the day and will return this summer and summers to follow.
Lovely Course
Well maintained course, with a real variety in holes, lots of water. Lots of fun.
Good course. Only issue is far away from Ottawa.
Good course maintain well with friendly staff. Only issue is too far away from Ottawa.
Great conditions, interesting layout
Greens were very smooth, fast and true running. With a few exceptions (11/12/13), every hole has personality and is interesting. Starting on a par 3 is odd (could easily re-arrange the holes-10-14/6-9, then 1-5/15-18), but otherwise the layout is great with lots of risk reward, especially from the back.
Hi Corgitoy,
We here at Whitetail Golf Club appriciate every review that is posted on this site. I see you played here on November 7th last year and you were unhappy with the experience. When it is that late in the season we do have a any maintenance staff anymore and the course is not up to par as the winter approaches. We would like to invite you to experience this wonderful course in prime time when the conditions are dramatically better. There is a reason why everyone writes great reviews about this course and why we were voted the #1 Public Golf Course in Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec 2 years in a row. Unfortunally when it is time to shut down for the year the course standards do fall short of what they should be but that is the nature of living in Canada. Please respond to info@whitetailgolfclub.ca and we can make your next round here a pleasureable one.
