The Greens were in excellent condition....
The pace was great. The fairways although dormant were well maintained and the greens had been overseeded come up perfect and were excellently manicured. For an inexpensive and challenging round I would recommend this course to everyone I know.
Ditto is always a great challenge from the tips, great condition and great staff.
I play all over the metroplex and still come back to Ditto. The layout is very nice it flows from hole to hole and it has great mixture of tough to fair holes not easy by any means
Warning-slow play on weekend!
Greens roll nice. Some tight hole put a premium on accuracy, however with some reachable par fives, you can go deep. Needs course Marshall to keep up the pace of play
Needs pace of play marshals
Greens fast. Fairways need attention. Traps terrible.
first time at this course
Well it was a beautiful day to golf, but when it was our time to tee off course was about run out of golf carts. the course was packed and was running behind about 20 mins to tee off, didn't seem like there was anyone in control at first but finally we asked if we could start on 10 instead of first and they said yes so we got out and started and everything was fine. we got grouped with a very nice couple john and Mary Jane and were a pleasure to golf with and we enjoyed ourselves for our round of golf.. but as for the course it was in good shape but greens were awful it seemed like a very big group was wearing metal spikes and tore up greens very rough and bumpy. very disappointed with that otherwise course was good.
The length and hole differences are great
It was in good condition considering the time of year.
Very tough layout in winter conditions
The course was playing very difficult due to 20-30 mph wind gusts. In addition, the dormant course didn't help. Great tee shots would routinely continue to run through the fairway until they found trouble. The greens were in excellent condition. This is a shot-makers course. Many of the holes we used driver, could have easily been played with a 3-6 iron just to keep your ball in play because of the dormant conditions. Pace of play was excellent on a Sunday.
Nice Course layout.
Ditto has improved tremendously over the last two years. The course has generous greens, driving range, putting green and short game practice area. I played recently and fairways are dormant however they are in great shape (due to excellent maintenance during spring and summer) and the ball sits up nicely. Greens hold and putt fine.
Ditto is a fun course
Ditto is a blast to play but.. like most courses in Texas it is in dire need of water. hard to get down thru a shot because ground is so hard. Also you can hit a great shot but with fairways so hard roll off can leave you in bad spot. Also a good place to tear up clubs to many rocks just off the fairways. Now with that said it is still Ditto which is a fun layout to play. Ditto will always be one of my favorites to play it just needs some tender loving care.
greens fairly nice!
Great layout. Course needs some attention. A few holes are really challenging.
Fun Course in Arlington
First time playing Chester Ditto and I would say it was an all around good value. There are nicer courses, there often cheaper courses, but it seems this place is consistently fairly priced and maintained. The back nine is much more difficult than the front. The cart girl came around a lot. By myself I was actually able to play in just under 3 hours on a Friday afternoon which is exactly what I was looking for.
As a somewhat unnerving but cool surprise, I saw a huge bobcat on hole 5 (see the pic). He was lazily walking across the fairway then laid down for a nap by the cart path! I was relieved that he was as scared of me as I him. Definitely not what I was expecting to find at a course that's basically a mile from Cowboys Stadium. I would play Chester Ditto again.
very nice course for the money
had a great time playing, we saw a bobcat and a fox. sunk a eagle shot and won 200 from my buddy... had to write a good review
Good course but overbooked.
Course was in good shape but was grossly overbooked. There were way too many players on the course and often there were several groups on the same hole. Round took exactly 5 hours to play - way too long on a sunny day.
Saurday Play
Windy conditions made this a more challenging course. Narrow
green fair ways on some holes. a lot of fun. i will return!
The greens are quicker now than in the summer
Played the day before Thanksgiving and it was packed...had to quit after 16 as it was getting dark.
Pleasant Surprise
I have driven past this course for years before finally playing there. I was pleased in what I saw on the grounds. A very nice driving range, chipping green, and putting green. Neither Lake Arlington or Meadowbrook Park has a driving range. It's located very close to Cowboys Stadium, Rangers Ball Park and easy to get to which is also a plus.
The course is nicely laid out with holes for the big driver player as well as tight fairways for the more skilled golfers. The par 3 holes are very interestingly laid out and plays longer than what is posted.
The pace of play was very fast on a Saturday afternoon and was not overly crowded. The staff was friendly and the course was well maintained.
The only drawback were 3 kids that walked through the opening in the fence on the back 9 and walked onto the course. One kid picked up the ball my buddy was about to hit as we were telling them to go back to wherever they came from. Other than that no issues.
I have found better deals on golfnow than what I paid, but I would still play this course again.
Descent course for the money.
Some holes are very challenging, especially when the wind is blowing like it was yesterday.
This course has great features.
a very challenging course, heavily wooded and rolling terrain. Bobcat strolled across #9 green as I was chipping up, a first for me. I did not try to find an errant tee shot from #10.
Great course and players move along quick.
The course is in great condition, friendly staff, easy to travel to from Mansfield, always easy to get a tee time.
This is a great course.
It was my first time on this course, it is a very well kept course. The staff was friendly, and it is also challenging as well. Can't wait to go back!
