Their greens are very slow
This can be a very difficult course. There are some pretty tight tree lined fairways, a few crowned fairways and slow greens. The grass is sparse on some fairways and you can get some pretty iffy lies.
good
Nice course still has some sand on the greens from aeration and the in the fairway but all in all a good course
Good track, a lot of potential, GREENS NEED HELP
The staff was great, and the course has a very good track with a lot of potential. That being said the greens are not too par. Very inconsistent and bumpy could never get a consistent feel for any of the greens.
Great course
I really enjoy this course. I play here once or twice a week. The front nine is nice and open and lets you get warmed up, and the back nine narrows down and makes you work. They have plenty of water and bunker traps to keep you on your toes as well. The greens and fairways are in good condition, especially for municipal course. I would recommend this course to anyone who wants to play a great course and not spend a ton of money.
This course has well maintained fairways and greens.
Excellent value here, more so than other courses in the area.
Enjoyable
Big trees, enough shade, good fairways, and large greens. Very good round of golf
Greens are in bad shape!!
I wish there was a way that the Golfnow website can indicate when a course has recently aerated its green. The greens where like putting in a sandbox. Also, they allow 5 somes on a Sunday and walking at that. Every time is see a course allow that it makes feel like all they care about is the money.
Good Arlington Public Course
Charles W. Ditto Golf Course is a pretty decent Arlington public golf course. It was in pretty good shape, and it is a fairly easy track, but can be challenging at times as well.
Hard greens
The course was in fair shape, however I found the greens were hard to get the ball to hold. Greens were a little slow and rough.
I like playing this course and it provides a great challenge
Ditto is one of the good courses in Arlington Texas and I feel it provides you with the mind set of you need to think before each shot. Which makes it a great place to play. The course is maintain very well and that alone make you want to play there.
Tough On A Windy Day
I enjoy the variety of golf holes on Ditto. #1 is a downhill with the southern wind, while #2 is solidly uphill and directly into the wind. The par 3s each take a different club, play different directions and elevation changes. The 5th hole always plays hard for me - hit it down the right and bring the water into play or down the left and take the green out of play. There are quite a few elevation changes on this course - many of the uphill holes into the wind - Tough!
15, 16, 18 all take very well placed drives.
Condition was typical for a mid-priced municipal course.
Greens are bad.
The course is in ok shape. The greens are terrible, full of weeds! I've played this course for years and this is the worst shape I have ever seen the greens in. Took a friend there for the first time he was not happy. I'm Very disappointed!
The Greens need attention
This is a great layout. Plenty of challenge with well placed traps, water and elevation changes. The greens were difficult to read and putt due to invasive clumps of weedy grasses. Some work on the greens would get this course another star. Still a good deal with a hot deal T-time.
Bad Business!
Tried to take my son golfing with me. But was sent away because my son was too young. I checked on the web site before driving out to the course and it says 6-17 junior rates. When I got there they told me kid has to be 10 years old. Wasted my Sunday didn't get to play.
Ditto: Predictably Average.
Everything about Ditto is average: If you get a GolfNow rate the price is fair for the experience. The rate of play is no problem. The tee boxes are fine. The fairways are okay but have spotty and encroaching areas that play like a lunar-landscape...you should agree with your group to allow no-penalty lateral moves in such lies or you'll be buffing nicks out of your irons later. The greens have some weed disease issues which affect putting lines. The girl at the counter was a bit coarse in her interactions to the folks ahead of me. Glad I booked online.
Great value for 15 bucks
Did a prepay on Golfnow for 15 bucks. Greens were above average, bunkers were well maintained (very good for a muni), and everything else was about what 15 dollars should be. Course starts off easy then punches u in mouth later with some very demamnding holes.
A hidden gem!
Great course...great price. Pretty challenging. I like the way they pay attention to keeping the course well maintained.
very fun
this was my home course many years ago. it was remodeled a few years ago and is being very well maintained. have to hit straight off the tee, lots of trees. even though you are surrounded by four streets it is a very quiet setting.
Challenging features
This course really tests you. The course was in good shape. You have to hit your drive well to be able to reach the greens in 2 shots on the par 4's. Not many bunkers on the course, but the bunkers are well placed to protect the greens. If there is not a trap protectng the green, you can bet there are trees protecting it on one side. So you better place your drive in good position for approach to the green. While there are some wide open fairways, there are also some that are narrow and sloped that make it tought to land, and stay, in the fairway. It was definitely challenging.
very nice layout with challenging shots and putts
the course was a very challenging course with tough green
