We love this course
We havent played this course in awhile. Once we started playing realized how much we missed it. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the course was in good condition. We had a great morning of golf!
Nice Layout but...
Nice course but the greens were super slow. Great elevation change as well as open on a few holes.
Saturday at Chester Ditto
Enjoyed our day with an 8:51am tee time. Our foursome started on time and play relatively quickly. Our only complaint were the greens. They were extremely slow and had a weed growing on all of the greens. I've played Ditto several times, but I have never seen this weed in the greens before now?
Overall, it was a good day for golf..!
Golf course was not available for play
Do to an event that was going on at my tee time I was not able to play Ditto.
The course told me that Golf Now is putting out tee times not available on Monday on this course
Greens in terrible conditions
I typically love going to play at Ditto but the conditions of the greens have become increasingly frustrating. I find it hard to believe that they could still charge $40+ for weekend morning tee times when the greens are pitted with sand and bald spots. I understand that the weather conditions have not been favorable throughout the spring but I find it easy to believe that they just are not maintaining it due to the looming closure for renovations. The staff and almost everything else about the course is on par for an average round of golf.. but when you cannot hit a competitive chip shot or putt because the only consistency of the greens is that they will be terrible, it becomes frustrating and a waste of money and time.
Good Day
Nice day course was good. The only issue were the greens, they were in need of repair and they had been working on them. I would play again anytime.
Good value
Had a good day of golf, course in fair condition. Greens are heavily sanded, so your putting average will suffer. Course is challenging but nothing to intense. Good muni course.
Course OK, greens terrible
I've played here several times in the past year. The the fairways are OK, but all the Greens are in terrible, terrible, conditions. On every hole the ball will go through numerous bumps and patches of dirt to get to the hole. It's a shame to leave the Greens that way.
Great course for the high handicap person
First time to play this course. Overall I was very pleased. I'm a high handicap golfer and the course was very forgiving, but still challenging enough for my my low handicap son. Fairways were nice. Most of the greens were in really good shape. I would definitely recommend this course for those that want to spend a relaxing day on the links.
Horrible condition.
Did finish the round in 3 hrs. There was more sand on the greens than grass. Staff is good. Maybe since their re-doing the course they stopped maintaining. I hope that's the case or they need to fire their groundskeeper.
You get what you pay for
This was a cheap round (less than $40 with a cart), so my expectations were set going in. I would rate the course as average overall. The greens were in really bad shape - so much so that my playing partner and I agreed that we would hold each other to a max two putt (within reason) due to the conditions. Pace of play was fine and fairways/bunkers were good. Not a bad experience, but also not a course I would go out of my way to play again.
This course has horrible greens
I have never played on greens that were in such bad shape when all of the area courses greens are really good . The only excuse i can think of is they are closing it soon to renovate the entire course , and they don't really care what the golfer think when they play there !! They should just go ahead and close if this is all they can bring to the table . Save your $$ and play elsewhere till they have a clue how to grow at least decent greens !!
Ditto chase
Very nice good price But need to work on green
Great Layout
Don't play this course often but it has some of the best elevation changes in the DFW area. It was in good shape for January, greens were a little bumpy, but an overall very enjoyable experience.
nice course unfavorable pace of play
windy out had several groups in front of us including a group of 1 rider and 2 walkers surprising enough the walkers were faster than the rider played 2 balls all day ranger said something to them 3 times one guy in our group got hit by a tee shot said something to staff and nothing done about it round was over 5 hours long i do like this course and play it a lot during the week but there needs to be something done to improve the experience
Nice course.. will play again
Considering the enormous amount of rain that this region has received recently, the course was in a pretty decent shape. The course played fair and I will definitely be coming again.. hopefully in better weather conditions.
Slow play = fun killer
No marshalls actively enforcing pace of play on a Saturday. Over 5 hours to get in a round is a beating
Great value
Very good value for Monday afternoon golf. The golf course is playable but some green needed maintainance. Pro shop try hard to sell stuff.
Always Enjoy This Course
I have played at Chester Ditto several times. I am fairly new to the area and found it originally using the GolfNow app on my phone. I think it is a great course for the money. It is not too easy but it is not too hard. I am a low to mid 90s golfer so take that into account when I say easy or hard course. it is challenging for me but it is not so hard that I get too frustrated. The course is always in great shape and clean. The staff are great, the equipment (golf carts) are nice. Overall a great course. My only complaint, and it has gotten better over the summer, is that greens are not nearly as nice as other courses I have played in the area. They are slow and many are bumpy as the grass does not appear to be that great. The back 9 greens are better than the front and like I said, they have gotten better as the summer has progressed. But they are not such that they discourage me from playing here.
We played in mid Feb. and a few times before that. The green condition has not changed that much.
I agree with the "terrible, terrible" green condition.
I would NOT recommend this course because of the green.
NOT worth your time or money.
but has cheap beers :-)
