Solid Municipal Course, awesome value
For reference, I am not a very skilled player and this was only my second time going to a course with a tee time instead of walking up.
It was a very enjoyable round overall. Open enough in many holes to allow room for error but some holes are narrower with trees that make you choose up and over or punch it through. The hills give elevation changes that put additional challenges on where you place it on the fairway.
I never felt rushed by the group behind us even though we fell behind the group in front of us some. 4.5 hrs was longer than I expected though.
I thought the fairways were cut well and the rough was thick enough to not allow much bounce and roll, but thin enough to usually end up with a good lie and not buried in tangled weeds.
It sucks that the 6th green was in deplorable condition because it is a great picture hole shooting over the creek. Squares of green in the middle of large patches of sand. Putting on it was a waste of time. I didn't feel like any of the other greens were too horrible nor were they PGA tour ready. They were very serviceable and rolled well except for 6.
It was pretty busy as it was the Friday before the 4th and a lot of people had it off. I would have liked to have seen a course marshall once, at least just strolling by on a cart so we would have known they were there. Even though tee times were 8 minutes apart, it still did not feel rushed.
Definitely will be playing there again soon.
Aweful greens
This course has amazing potential. The greens were like putting on a fairway, a bad fairway. Great setup though and im sure a long time ago, or if there was a junior tournament theyd change things but if you are looking for a good challenge course witj EVERYTHING dont bother
What's with all the walkers?
Nice little course for the price. It's in excellent shape given all the rain. The only issue is the green on the par 3 6th hole. Nice elevation changes. Some good open holes to just open up and bomb it. Cheap after 5 and there's plenty of trees for shade. Stay hydrated, grab a cigar and relax for a pleasant round.
So many people walking. I played through 3 different 2-somes.
Good round
I've played this course before. I did notice some of the greens were damaged due to rainy weather days in May and June. The fairways were great. It was a good round of golf!
Good Value for Price
Fairways are the best I have played on since moving to Texas in 2011 as I have played all over. Greens however have some damage and were very slow. Will play again as greens should improve over next few weeks to couple months.
Double Eddies
Only one issue, a twosome kept playing up on us even after the marshal asked them not to hit into us.
Ditto - Arlington Texas
Fairways were good. Greens were horrible. Considering all the water that we have gotten, overall of the course was good.
Would consider going somewhere else for a few weeks to allow the greens to recover from all the water damage.
Pretty good value
It had rained a lot the night before and the course was actually pretty dry considering the amount of rain. The greens could be a lot smoother but overall the course was good. Especially for 15 bucks, which is what I got on the hot deal. The staff was awesome!!!! I'll definitely play there again for a good discount, probably wouldn't pay full price though.
great course bad greens
Everything was great, except for the greens. They had obviously been aerated recently, but also had several bald spots on them. Hopefully they will be grown in soon with all of this nice rain!
Back for another round
All the rain we've had seems to have helped the course, but it also meant cart path only. The greens are still in need of work, but other than that it was a enjoyable round of golf.
This course was at one time the best in Arlington.
To the crew who is responsible for keeping the greens at Ditto at least somewhat playable ---- CMON GUYS , SERIOUSLY ??? REALLY ???
Greens need work
Considering the sunny weather following significant rain we expected far better green conditions. Although the greens had been aerated recently there seemed to be an abundance of sand on the green. They really need some work to even get to average. Really ruined the golf round in my eyes.
Need some work on the greens
Ditto is a fun layout and the fairwAys are in good shape, The greens however need a lot of work.
The ball pretty much bounced the entire way to the cup on all but 2 greens.
Staff is extremely nice and food is good.
I would recommend this course to the beginner
Very Rushed
The speed of play was very rushed. They told us they over booked the tee times and had a tournament starring in 4 hours. The group behind us was riding us all day and we were forced to go the same with the group in front. The whole felt like we were just trying to get through the round instead of enjoying it. The course itself was enjoyable but I'll never play here again.
Good value
Ditto is in decent shape considering it's early Feb. The staff was very nice and the pace of play was very good. Overall a great bang for your buck!!
Better, Not Yet Average
Ditto has always had lots of dirt patches, even on the greens. They are clearly making an effort to change this.
But, Ditto is in real need of marshals to maintain the pace of play.
Old But Good
Ditto is one of the oldest courses in the Dallas area, owned by the City and maintained with a very good. Staff on site pleasant and always professional and helpful. Greens need a little work to get rid of the weeds and bumps while putting but for mid winter over all in good shape
Great course for muni
Second time playing this course, all aspects were in great order for N Texas in the winter. Fairways in good condition and the greens were too. Although I signed up as a single the staff paired me up even though course wasn't busy, I feel this should be my choice. Got paired with two others who were way better than me, and I felt I was holding them up, as if golf doesn't have enough pressure already, was my only complaint
