About
This is a 36-hole city-owned operation that features one of Austin's best muni tracks, the Roy Kizer Golf Course, which complements the 1970s Jimmy Clay layout.
Austin's old water treatment facility was transformed by Randy Russell, who had more than 80 acres of lakes and marshland at his disposal when he laid out the 200-acre site. Russell's links-style design is flat, burdened by the wind, and loaded with bunkers. The toughest par is No. 11, which rolls 468 yards into the wind and is shamefully listed as a par 4. Take your bogey on No. 11.

Course is in great shape
Greens are good
We played in 3 hours and 45 minutes

I will b going back thought this was the best municipal I've played and there is still another I haven't played yet looking forward to that!

There are 2 18 holes courses I played the Roy course trees and wide fairway! Didn't play the links but I'm going back! And they have a 9 hole course my favorite of all the Muni golf courses in Austin
Not bad, not great but average
Had high hopes for this course since it has been shut down for over 6 months, was expecting it to be in great shape but nope. It was ok but Clay is in better shape.

Greens fairways and yep even bunkers are in fantastic shape, pace was good and staff friendly, definitely recommend!!
Kizer Is a Great Golf Venue!
I skipped over this course for the past ten years, while my career (and salary) directed me to other upscale and country club golf venues. However, since retiring, I’ve played Roy Kizer numerous times, and each has been a delight. It’s a wonderful layout, in great condition, and appears to be a well-managed (and marshaled) pace of play. The staff is courteous and friendly, and the practice facilities are top notch - I love this course.
