Soon Valley - 18 holes
Excellent value for the money. Well cared for and a real pleasure to play on a beautiful day. The noise from vehicles on the 401 can be somewhat distracting. We had the added bonus of seeing a bald eagle on the 16th hole.
Very slow!
I have played this course many times because it is very close to my house, but as usual, it is too slow! We finally asked the foursome to let us play through. This course was revamped a few years ago, and is now, half links style abd half parkland. Very odd! A long walk because it goes under a major highway, which makes it very noisy as well. The nine hole Classic is very good, although extremely noisy due to the highway proximity.
Great course
Was a great day for golf. Everyone associated with course were outgoing, very personable and friendly. Good course for walking.
My golf day
The course is in excellent condition, the weather couldn't have been better. However, considering my abilities, I should have quit after 9 holes!!!! That's me & not the course !!

Had a great time at soon on Sunday, pace was a little slow, however over all a great experience

Doon Valley good value for the money
Doon Valley is a nicely laid out course. Challenging enough, 5 1/2 hour round, very slow, no marshall in sight. Very disappointing that numerous divots and ball marks that are not being repaired.
Be prepared for a very long walk, large distances between greens and tees.
Next time will golf during the week stay away during holiday.
Overall enjoyed the course.

Public course with good value for money. Good combination of challenging holes with risk/reward for intermediate to advanced golfer.
Would play again in a heart beat
Great course. The greens on club house side are a little rough but it's early in the season. Great atmosphere and I enjoyed it all. Back nine were a little slow but that's fine. Overall experience was great. Except for lack of beer cart and the idiots behind us who were very impatient.
Great value for a very good course
We booked online for Thursday as it was the best day for weather this week and we were not disappointed.The course was in great shape and not very busy so we a great quick round.

this course is the best value of almost any course I have been to. Municipally owned and excellent rates as well.
Good value
Hard to beat for $22. Course is in great shape and the new addition to this course I really enjoy! Not overly difficult but still a good test
pace of play
I found the course challenging. Yet the pace of play was just too slow....There were no Marshalls to control it and found that tee times were just way too close.
Well kept greens
We like to walk the courses, however this course is extremely long and tiresome, especially with the heat.

Surprisingly dry
My wife and I played mid week so we didn't expect it to be busy, but because the temperature dropped it was basically deserted. We played with a cart and finished in less then 4 hours. However, I have played here on the weekends and it is not uncommon to have a 5 hour round.
The day and night before we played the region was hit with about 30mm of rain. I thought the course was going to be wet, but it drained very well. There was very little water in the course and we didn't feel the fairways squashing beneath our feet as we walked. The only exception was the bunkers. They were either flooded or compacted and unplayable.
Greens were in great condition, rough was cut at a good length. The course was set up for the weekend hacker to have a good time which was nice for a change.
I tend to stick to a cart here. I'm sure I could walk the course but there are many holes that are far apart so there is a lot of walking between holes.
As many have mentioned the naturalization areas across the 401 are everywhere so lost balls are a common occurrence.
Overall Doon is always a great place to come and play and the weekday and weekend after 12 prices are hard to beat.

the course was in good shape. not busy, twosome played in less than 3 hour only 17 holes because of rain. not a walking course
