The Battlefield Course is one of the 18-hole, championship courses, so named because of the facility's location on the hallowed grounds of the legendary Battle of Chippewa during the War of 1812. The layout features an impressive man-made lake that spans nearly 20 acres and comes into play on at least four holes. The 13th hole is particularly notable for its spectacular view of Niagara Falls in the distance.

still early in the season
The course was as expected for the time of year. Greens still coming back from a hard winter and were very firm. Course was wet so no roll out on your shots. Will return later in the year when the weather is better. Prefer this side to Battlefield 18.
Always a fun round at Legends
Course was in good condition given the recent rain it has taken on. Greens were in excellent shape (they always are) considering the winter they have endured and how other courses have coped. Without a a doubt these courses are the best value amongst the higher end courses in Niagara.
big facility
first time playing...too early in year...ball plugged a lot.
great layout
for the start of the season the course was in as good as can be expected for this early in the season. Very challenging layout.
Battlefield at Legends of Niagara
The golf course layout is excellent, and the course is suitable for all handicaps as long as you play to your level. At this time of year the course is still recovering from the long, cold winter. Still it is playable and good value especially during the week when the traffic is slow. You can play the course in under 4 hours most days. As the weather warms up and the course dries out it will be a pleasure to play and one of the best courses in the Niagara region.
golf
ok for winter playing there was no ball washing no cart on fair way not worth the money
the best feature of this course is the wide fairways
had a great time and we are looking forward to playing there again
Avoid in "Off Season" or Early Mornings
I was told my 9:30am tee time included range balls, OOPS - range wasn't cut and wasn't open until after my tee time, sorry about your luck.
The pro-shop staff was unhelpful and didn't meet my expectations for a "resort" of this calibre, if not for the starter (Stewie) and the grounds crew (friendly gentlemen cutting the greens), my experience would have been a complete train-wreck.
Pro's: Even though the group I was paired up with tee'd off at 8:45, instead of 9:30, Stewie suggested that I tee-off from the back 9, which worked out great. Stewie was generous enough to provide me with a Course Guide, which helped me tremendously in club selection. The greens were smooth and true.
Con's: how in the world does a business advertise a range, yet not have it open atleast an hour before the earliest tee-off time is beyond my comprehension and the reason for my extreme dissatisfaction with today's round. Lastly, the course was so swamped and soggy, that I plugged everyone of my tee-shots into the fairway (no roll), and some fairways were so bad that I actually was unable to find my plugged ball. How frustrating to hit a nice tee ball down the centre of the fairway, only to loose it..
Would I recommend this course? Conditionally. If you want to play it during peak season and can afford the peak rates, I assume that at full staff & dry, this course would be impeccable.
Good course, slow play, really challenging
The course is well maintained, however the day we played was really wet. Lots of slow play, at one point there were four groups on the same hole. I realize it is late in the season but you need to have a marshal going around to keep the pace. 5 hours is way too long for a round on a fall weekend.
Price is good value.
Priced just a couple of dollars high on golfnow due to time ofyear and course condition (aerated)
Enjoy this course. Good condition for time of year - aerated but we were very well aware of that. for time of year and condition would have liked to see it just a little cheaper on golfnow - even $3.-$5 less is quite attractive this time of year. Very happy with golfnow access - would like to see more availability there of course.
Could have been really good...ended up less than average
Staff at the bag drop and the pro shop were very pleasant. There was no starter on the first tee so we teed off when the tee was open. We could see two foursomes and a twosome ahead of us and two twosomes behind us. The twosome right behind us was hitting the ball up our backsides the entire front nine and then told us to pick up the pace when on nine green. We politely told them to bugger off and that we were in no hurry to get to the next tee and wait. When we got to ten tee, a foursome and twosome were still there and the twosome behind never arrived. Not even sure why two's are allowed on a busy day. Frustrating, but after the group behind us disappeared it was good. Course was very wet and sloppy, fairways had been aerated and were very shaggy. Greens had been aerated maybe a week to 10 days ago and were still a little rough. Would have been nice to know before I booked, might have gone elsewhere. But it is October, the weather was absolutely gorgeous (sunny and 22 degrees) and my brother was up from North Carolina for Thanksgiving weekend...so it was a good day.
bu
Fall Golf. Course greens aerated three weeks prior but were coming back well.
Course rough and fairways were in need of maintenance
Many bunkers had water and unplayable
Fees were in accordance with fall golf and conditions but could of been a bit improved
Staff very cordial and helpful. Quite satisfied
I would recommend this to others
The layout is great.
The course requires better drainage. The fairways were very soggy. This is the 2nd time that it happened to us. We played Royal Niagara the next day and the fairways were in very good condition. They are both in the same region and had the same amount of rain.
Long holes with many bunkers.
Very nice course but so wet and sloppy. Grass was very wet and long. It could not be cut.
The course is challenging but the course is not being maintained as it was when it was a new course.
We had six players playing together in front of us at one point. Fortunately they let us through. (My wife and myself).
nice layout
very nice layout reminds me of legends M.B.S.C. we enjoyed the course very much even in the light rain.
Awesome but fairplus very good use of water hazards to keep you honest both off the tee and on approach shots.
Great track, well maintained, warm-up areas (driving range and putting green) were very nice and roomy. Able to easily found your way around the course and cart paths in great condition. Beverage cart made frequent contact. Pro Shop very nice and good variety items for purchase.
One area for improvement: A ranger was rude and unaware as to the reason the pace of play had slowed down. Also made an inappropriate remark not consistent with customer service.
As a single player, the starter matched me up with 2 other golfers with proper introduction which made my experience delightful.
Very fast greens!!!
the course is great, although the greens were very very fast, the ball didn't hold at all... and it was terribly windy that day so that didn't help.
Good layout
Always a treat to play the Legends courses.
Greens and fairways were punched so conditioning was not good considering the layout is fun to play especially trying to dip into my buddies pockets for a few dollars of skins competition.
