Thundering Waters Golf Club

About
Thundering Waters Golf Club, so named for its proximity to the Canadian Horseshoe Falls, has a unique layout that combines a parkland course with the tricky elements of a heathland golf course. There is an interesting combination of drivable par 4s and scenic par 3s that will provide a formidable test for even the most skilled players. The golf course first winds through heavily wooded patches and then finds its way to rugged hills dotted with thick fescue where true links-style holes with deep bunkers and large, undulating greens await you. The layout also features several doglegs and more than 100 bunkers strategically placed throughout. Water hazards come into play on 10 holes. Thundering Waters Golf Club was Canada's first John Daly signature golf course.

Bunkers are neglected and out of play for some reason. Just aim for them when it helps you, then pull them out without a penalty.
Bunkers
Bunkers are absolutely terrible and they even acknowledge it. I wouldn’t care as much if it looks like they were in the process of fixing but it looks like there’s 0 effort to them. At this point just fill in the bunkers with grass.

Bunkers
Please fix them! Fill them in and leave it partly grassed with bunker sand or other method. It messes up a nice course.
Great little course set in a sub division in Niagara Falls
I loved the setting! It was quiet, in great condition. There are many grass and fairway bunkers and for some reason the course doesn’t maintain the bunkers. I would play this course again!
Rollys Review
Great course tucked into a quiet housing area.
Really challenging course, lots of grass bunkers, in beautiful condition. I ,over the layout and the proximity to residential area.
Would definitely play again.
The price was right
Staff upon arrival, check in and starter were amazing. Starter told us bunkers were a free lift, boy was he right. They indicated they hired a new grounds keeper to get the course back into shape. Niagara hasn't had much rain but the course was still soaked. Greens and tee decks were long and slow. Players still haven't learnt to repair ball marks as the greens were littered with them. Pace of play was slow, only one marshall seen for the round. For the price it's a decent value.
Where's the sand?
Very enjoyable round with the fairways in good condition. It was cart path only because of the rain the day before and deluge that morning but it was drying out nicely. The sand traps were a disappointment and I treated them as ground under repair because of the lack of sand and so much weed overgrowth. That being said we had a great time and hopefully will make the drive again later this summer. This course is always a good time.
Never Boring
This course has many variations on the holes and uses the natural lay of the land very well. The fairways and greens were in great shape. The only drawback was the sand traps. Many lacked sand and had weeds growing in them so unless they were groomed we opted not to play out of them.
Confusing course
Course could use some love. Bunkers are now just weeds up to your knees and fairways are full of divots that nobody's repaired. Also no ball cleaners at every hole. Also seems like once upon a time it was a nice course, but now it seems to be inside a subdivision and the flow of the course is all over the place.

Pot bunkers
Course is probably best it’s been this year. Pot bunkers aren’t maintained so fill them in. It’s annoying.
Challenging course
This is course is very challenging. There is a lot of water and extreme angles. There are a lot of bunkers They do not have sand in the bunkers. The bunkers are dirt and grass. Lost a lot of balls.
Missing the sand
Played this course for the first time in years. All the greenside and fairway bunkers are missing sand and aren't maintained. Great fairways and greens, great layout to play,, but come on, bunkers are part of golf, you're better than that, given the green fees.
