Thundering Waters Golf Club
About
Thundering Waters Golf Club, so named for its proximity to the Canadian Horseshoe Falls, has a unique layout that combines a parkland course with the tricky elements of a heathland golf course. There is an interesting combination of drivable par 4s and scenic par 3s that will provide a formidable test for even the most skilled players. The golf course first winds through heavily wooded patches and then finds its way to rugged hills dotted with thick fescue where true links-style holes with deep bunkers and large, undulating greens await you. The layout also features several doglegs and more than 100 bunkers strategically placed throughout. Water hazards come into play on 10 holes. Thundering Waters Golf Club was Canada's first John Daly signature golf course.

Confusing course
Course could use some love. Bunkers are now just weeds up to your knees and fairways are full of divots that nobody's repaired. Also no ball cleaners at every hole. Also seems like once upon a time it was a nice course, but now it seems to be inside a subdivision and the flow of the course is all over the place.
Pot bunkers
Course is probably best it’s been this year. Pot bunkers aren’t maintained so fill them in. It’s annoying.
Challenging course
This is course is very challenging. There is a lot of water and extreme angles. There are a lot of bunkers They do not have sand in the bunkers. The bunkers are dirt and grass. Lost a lot of balls.
Best public course in Niagara
This course is in amazing shape from Blocks to flag. You will NOT find a better public course in Niagara Region. We are booked back in in 2 weeks
Missing the sand
Played this course for the first time in years. All the greenside and fairway bunkers are missing sand and aren't maintained. Great fairways and greens, great layout to play,, but come on, bunkers are part of golf, you're better than that, given the green fees.
Great day of golf
The course is in amazing shape from blocks to greens. Even the Hotdogs at the turn were amazing. Booked again in 2 weeks. By far this course is the best public course in the Niagara Region. Thank you Thundering Watees see you in 2 weeks
Disappointed.
Was really looking foto playing here but was sadly disappointed. The course layout was nice but the sandtraps on every hole were absolutely terrible. Look like they haven't been taken care of in a long time. Full of weeds , grass and no sand at all. Unable to play from any of them. Then to get and hotdog at the front cafe it was $9.20 for a frigging hotdog. Atrocious. Needless to say will not be returning or telling anyone to play there.
Course in terrible condition
Wouldn’t recommend going, seems like they have let this course go, tee boxes were terrible, bunkers were over grown with weeds, didn’t even have sand in them, greens were average or more to the soft and slow side
What happened?
This course used to be beautiful. We were warned before teeing off to fix fairways and divots. The fairways looked as if we were in a mine field and the greens were pretty beat up as well. Almost all the bunkers were just weeds in a hole on the fairways. This just looks so untidy and lazy. Tee boxes were also ragged and banged up. Definitely not worth the price here anymore.
Cool shaped course but seems like they don’t care too much about it
Bunkers are not cared for.
Some tee boxes were terrible.
Only benefit to this course is if you get on early enough it’s $50-$60 for 18 and a cart. Still a fun track to play overall.
Time to work on your course
Course is not bad, but the original design was really nice. Covid is over and time to start bringing your bunkers up to a playable condition instead of a free drop. Stop relying on the onetime vacationers who will forget the course when they leave. This track could be more than what it is now.
Great course - maintenance is a little spotty.
This course is a great layout, and is conveniently located.
The bunkers are absolute trash. Doesn’t even look like they’ve ever had sand in them. They’re overgrown with weeds.
We played an early round (640 am), so understandably the grounds crew were mowing while we were playing. It was a little frustrating that they mowed without interruption, having no regard for the fact that we were taking shots.
Sometimes they were mowing within 15-20 feet of where we were in play, and they had no regard for us. Most times we waited for them to move before we kept playing.
All in all, lovely course and great value as we booked for $42 on GolfNow.
Anything under $75 for a golf and ride, is a great value at this course.
