Thundering Waters Golf Club
About
Thundering Waters Golf Club, so named for its proximity to the Canadian Horseshoe Falls, has a unique layout that combines a parkland course with the tricky elements of a heathland golf course. There is an interesting combination of drivable par 4s and scenic par 3s that will provide a formidable test for even the most skilled players. The golf course first winds through heavily wooded patches and then finds its way to rugged hills dotted with thick fescue where true links-style holes with deep bunkers and large, undulating greens await you. The layout also features several doglegs and more than 100 bunkers strategically placed throughout. Water hazards come into play on 10 holes. Thundering Waters Golf Club was Canada's first John Daly signature golf course.

Great price for a great course
Great overall considering still early in the season.
great deal
Spring golf in Canada with fuzzy greens . Enjoyable
Better than most. Top 10 in Niagara.
I'd give TW between a 4 to 4.5. Unfortunately I played it before the renovations to accommodate housing and it was a beast then. With many shorter holes now some of the teeth are gone from this Lion. I still have it in the top 10 in Niagara but sadly just outside the top 5. it's wouldn't be fair at this time of year to comment on conditions but it was in great early shape. Historically conditions are high end though. Some neat challenging holes, there are a few where you can drive the green over water or take the smart route. 9 and 18 are great holes. The staff was very friendly in comparison to most.
Pretty course...fun to play
A great place to play. Pace was good and not overcrowded
In great shape for early play. Greens a bit long but probably due to much rain the previous day.
Course was great
For it being so early in the season the course was in great condition.
Great Course
The fairways and greens were in excellent condition. The course was challenging and long. The staff are extra friendly .
Bring your bunker game here, you'll probably need it
This course has alot going for it - great property; lush
fairways and fast, true greens. Course is in very good shape seeing the amount of play it sees based on the condition of most tees. Challenging off the tee and greenside with the amount and depth of the bunkers. There's a chance once in some bunkers just getting out in 1 shot is a shot well played. Greens are large and fast with plenty of swing but very true. Nice variety of par 3's and shorter par 4's. 9th & 18th are certainly their signature holes and the toughest requiring your best tee shots of the day. Very enjoyable, a good score had be had if you avoid the bunkers.
Excellent Fall Golf
Went last minute with a buddy who was staying in The Falls, I drove down in the morning and the course was quiet, yet busy, pace was great, done in 3-1/2hrs, even with a stop at the turn.
Course condition was fabulous, the course is tough, and you need to make good shots, especially on your approach to the greens or you could bounce off and into hazards.
Definitely going back.
Only issue is they are constructing a community around the course with homes that are at best moderate.
Hot Deal - Great Value
Excellent day on the course. Fairways and greens in excellent condition. Bunkers could have been better maintained
Beautiful Course
Very Challenging, nicely landscaped and layout. It's interesting how the design of the course has you pass by the half way house at least 7 or 8 times during the round. Well organized from check in to the starter. You will enjoy to play, it's worth the drive if you're from out of town.
No Marshal???
We played on Sunday Oct. 12/14. It was a beautiful day. There was a frost delay and we understand that but as we started the back nine we waited on every shot. At the 14th hole there where three groups waiting because of slow players. We walked off on the 17th hole. When we asked the starter if there was a marshal the was on duty he said no. How can you have a course full of people and nobody moving the pace of play along. What a disappointment to what could have been a great round of golf.
overall great day ,course was in great shape
have not played there in many years went back too check out with ""golf now"" deal $50 dollar all in ...was impressed with course condition ,for this time of year..wouldn,t pay more than that
good course
fairly easy course. wide open fairways but does have some challenging holes
Wouldn't go out of my way to return
Overall, okay experience. We went on a Monday and arrived 45 minutes early for our tee time. The started said he could probably get us off early so we went and paid and were ready to go. They then waited another 15 minutes for the next group to arrive. This foursome was not only late but proceeded to slow down the course for the entire day. Not sure why they just didn't let us go ahead from the beginning. There were 3 twosomes behind our foursome so there were multiple groups watching them tee off at a number of holes. No marshall to be found and no response to our Assistance Required call on our GPS. Course has a lot of undergrowth and fescue, lost a lot of balls. Challenging and much less picturesque and well maintained than other courses we golfed in the area that weekend. Got a good deal on golf now so overall happy with what we paid for.
This course has great features and great views.
Played the course with a friend and we were both pleased with the great condition the course was in. It has a variety of different holes from open fairways to tight ones. The course was very lush and greens smooth and fast.. Very challenging for all levels of golfers. Definitely will play it again.
Great course, terrible service
The course is great.. really enjoyed that...however the service was so bad... We started off 30 minutes behind the starting tee time and on top of that the starter gave us quite a bit of attitude... Later on our Cart died on Hole 15 and we called TWICE to get someone out but nobody answered our call.. we played with 2 other friends who had to push our cart with theirs.. When we came in the starter said he never received our call for assistance..All this was on top of the back 9 being SO slow that the group behind us just LEFT and went home after 14 holes.. there was no marshall checking in on the flow either. Again the course itself is very good but it was a horrible day of service
loved this course once
haven't played here in quite a few years. Changes have not been beneficial for golfing. Condos are an eyesore and they aren't done yet. fairways and greens are in great shape tho. Played (golf paths only) tough to hit near paths as many have hazards or ob nearby. Did not enjoy it the way I did when they opened. Played back tees. 6100 yds. Daly tees no longer exist. blues are 5700. Many longer par 3s and 4s; shorter par 5s. Odd.
Management error
There was a 14 hole tournament booked at same time as our tee time. as a result the pace was slow (6.5 hours) The players in tournament were drinking, were not fixing ball marks on green ( greens looked like it had a bad case of acne)and the usual cans, bottles and plastic glasses littering the course. I would definitely play here again but would ensure there was no tournament that day
Great course
Picked the course because of the John Daly connection. Played early in the a.m. , rained hard the evening before, course was a bit wet. Bunkers could use some attention, but other than that , great challenging course, would go back to play again.
