Thundering Waters Golf Club
About
Thundering Waters Golf Club, so named for its proximity to the Canadian Horseshoe Falls, has a unique layout that combines a parkland course with the tricky elements of a heathland golf course. There is an interesting combination of drivable par 4s and scenic par 3s that will provide a formidable test for even the most skilled players. The golf course first winds through heavily wooded patches and then finds its way to rugged hills dotted with thick fescue where true links-style holes with deep bunkers and large, undulating greens await you. The layout also features several doglegs and more than 100 bunkers strategically placed throughout. Water hazards come into play on 10 holes. Thundering Waters Golf Club was Canada's first John Daly signature golf course.

Love this course
Definitely one of the better courses in the Niagara region
challenging
great course. half hour delay do to lack of carts. Very busy as it was long weekend.
Not as good
Not as good as it use to be. Changed and shortened course. No more range. Food not as good. Need rangers to help with pace of play
Wake up early and enjoy
Only complaint is that the greens did not have enough bite in them. Overall it was a great day.
Play from tips as course is short.
Very Slow Play - Disappointed
Had to leave after 11 holes because the play was just too slow. Feel as though course was overbooked. Nearly 4 hours to get to hole 12 and could not wait to finish.
slow pace of play
we had a 10:22 T off. when we arrived they were alerady more than 30 min behind..They had 3 tournaments out there..so we left
Nice Golfcourse but equipment is aging
I have played on this course many times over the years and every year it seems that no money is spent on maintenance of the equipment. This year alone 4 times I had cart with GPS that broke down while playing or the cart was beat up that I could barley drive it. I can play without GPS but that has bad taste in my mouth. Either pull it out or fix it. Few times we had people waiting on 18 hole to take our carts because they were short of carts, because they have a lot of them broken down.
The course over all is very nice and I like to play there but not with that equipment.
I hope that next year we will see new carts with new GPS.
Course in excellent condition
Our twosome second group off the tee. We arrived to a very courteous staff. Allowed us to sit and take pics in John Daly's cart. A lot of risk reward holes, especially on short par 4's. Have read reviews in the past about the condition of course, but we found it impeccable. We will most definitely be back.
Great Day
The course is in excellent shape. We had a great day!
Challenging and picturesque course.
First tee time of morning so did have to wait for anyone. The course overall is in great shape but some bunkers good use some work. Grounds crew were the only ones slowing us down as they were trying to rake out the bunkers as we were trying to tee off on the first 6 holes.
Every hole a new challenge
Great course to play. Each hole has it own challenges. Plan your shots and you can score good. Take a chance and be prepared to suffer. Some of the fairways were a little spongy makes it easy to hit fat. greens can be deceiving be careful if your above the hole it can be slick especially as the day progresses.
Lack of Marshalls can be frustrating when slower groups slow the pace of play.
Overall great day, nice scenery, be back soon.
thundering waters
sand bunkers need a lot of work the last time i played here it was much nicer
Good Value
The course is well kept even with somewhat crowded weekend. I would say not for beginner's as there is trouble everywhere from bunkers to tall grass, trees, creeks etc..
The area around clubhouse looks unfinished as they have are trying to sell homes around the course. No driving range only nets is one big miss.
Overall enjoyed the track for the price and I would come back and play.
Very nice course but...
Very nice course but very short. I was expecting something a little tougher and longer especially for a john daly designed course. I would play again but it would have to be a good deal
challenging but very nice
Excellent condition. Very nice course. Would recommend to everyone.
Average course - priced right through Golf Now
Course was in pretty good shape. I was expecting a little more since the course was using John Daley as a source. 18th hole was about the best the rest were average looking. Pretty sad to see a set of sand bunkers under repair with 3 foot high weeds growing out of them - really,,,- how long should a John Daley course have sand traps under repair ( looked liked pretty well the entire season). Worst of all we had to compete with a flying drone - as they were videoing each hole - asked to play through them and they tried a sales pitch on us thinking we would like seeing the drone in use - NOT. Nice course but only going back. We did eventually get let through!!
The marshel was not seen the whole 18 holes. There was no rules followed and noone to enforce them.
Would play this course again and again. The only problem was thereis no enforcement of the four hour rule for 18 holes. You might get stuck behind a foursome that turns your round into 5 hours.
Know the course!
Played here on an Early Bird Special with Golfnow. We were off at 6:45 and done at 10:30 as a 3some.
Knowing where to put the ball off the tee is a definite asset when playing this course. Some tee shots that you put exactly where you wanted them off the tee often end up in trouble (in bunkers or lost) so 2nd time out this course will play easier but it is still a strong test from the Black tees from where we played it. Some bunkers were not raked or under repair but greens were good. Also the GPS was not working right at times. Overall great value for the $19.99 we paid! I would not play this course at full price.
Very Enjoyable Layout...Will Play Again For Sure
Very fun course to play...Had heard lots of mixed reviews since it opened. Unfortunate that there must have been a pinch for cash to take the driving range and 700 yards from the course to build condos. The result is still a beautiful and very enjoyable (yet short) course to play. Shot 73 from the blacks, despite the starter's "stern recommendation" that I play the whites or at most the blues (even though he never asked my handicap or what kind of player I was). He also made it sound like there was no option but to layup on #1 which was also bad advice. Besides his ignorance, it was a very nice course. Greens were not fast but very true and besides some rough spots on some tee boxes, the course was in GREAT shape. Very strange routing, but excellent electric carts allowed you to zip around and it was just fine. Now that it is finally priced right, I will definitely be back and have already recommended to a friend to bring his kids up.
fun track
Saturdays are probably not the best day for a steady moving round
