Winchester Golf Club
About
Winchester Golf Club is a short and sweet 5,200 yards from the tips. Those looking for length will have to go elsewhere, but if you want a quick round, this course can be played in less than four hours. The course is situated among Brooklin's gently rolling hills, which are covered by forests that are part of the Oak Ridges Moraine. The player-friendly layout is ideal for beginners. It is also a great place for kids to learn how to play. The golf course is not difficult by any means but it provides good practice. There are a few challenges spread throughout, including a fair number of bunkers bordering the greensides. Its forgiving nature and risk-reward opportunities make it a great place for golf tournaments as well.

Course has great features
This course was fun and challenging but the grounds were not great. Plenty of dirt patches .
Great time with the group I was paid with.
Always have great time at Winchester. Good value for the money.
Still a hard-hat course
We arrived on time and were promptly greeted by the course rep---there was no starter and/or marshall to deal with a very slow group who were ahead of us---we opted to stop after 9 holes because of the slow play--we did receive a rain cheque from the pro shop--really great of them. The course itself is in good shape BUT the tee areas are way too close to other tee boxes so it puts too many golfers in harm's way--for that reason we will not return.
Good Course
Good place to play. Only got to have one beer and never saw the beer cart again
nice layout, lots of trees
the course was open but the club did not allow use of power cars for front 9 holes. My friend is 81 and I am 73. We had a lot problems walking....lot of hills. Mirko
Too challenging for less experienced players
A nice course but not for novices or beginners. Fairways are mostly long so you have to be a long driver or be prepared to for a high score. The ground on the fairways and greens is rather hard so chipping is difficult. A good course for the intermediate players.
Lots of challenging holes
Fun course to play. Lots f challenging holes. Play can be slow and bunches up between the 3rd and 9th holes. Cart paths are in need of repair. I would recommend this course... Fun and challenging.
Bring your hard hat!!
Took 5 hours to play on a busy sunny day.
My main concern was safety as many times you are hitting VERY close to golfer waiting on other holes.
I have never heard "fore" called so many times in one round of golf.
Fast greens
Played the back 9. Should have better signs marking where next green is. They should let first time players know that hole # 15 has both ladies and men's greens. Overall the pace of play is good and the course is not overly difficult. Tee boxes could use some work. Greens are great and fast. Would play again for sure.
Leaves
Many leaves this time of year on this course..... Greens were clear though. The course was good and dry as well !
good deal for the right price.
a little short but great value. Had an obnoxious three some which took away some of our enjoyment but overall a good day.
The course is in good shape
I like the pace of play. The greens are fast. The hole are not long.
Still needs some work
Played this course for many years, although its improving , some holes t boxes and greens need some work but over all the staff and course is great to play when I get back to the area
Winchester
Slightly quirky golf course with a number of unusual but fun holes. If it's busy, be careful when near a fairway beside your own. Ball can be flying around. All in all an enjoyable day.
good value
excellent value for a course that is not too long but challenging and in good shape. took four hours for our foursome to complete there are issues with holes 4 and.5 and six with fairways.being too close together so a heads up is required for errant shots.
Winchester Marathon Round
I am having a difficult time find anything good to say about our round at Winchester. Front nine took 3 hours. Tee boxes were horrendously maintained. This course is extremely short and jammed into the property so poorly that on multiple holes we had to cross several holes to continue playing. We were overcharged by the beverage staff and almost hit by several golf balls during regular play, especially dangerous on the tee box. The only positive were the greens which were in decent shape. I would not recommend playing Winchester unless you can find a cheap green fee or enjoy the punishment of a long and frustrating golf experience.
You pay for what you get!
Other than the putting greens you can tell that very little money has been put into the course ... especially the tee blocks.
I would not play this course unless you get a good deal or unless the course isn't that busy. At least you can pay two or three balls and practice.
Ok for the price of green fee
Very poor sand traps and very poor tee boxes
Would only play if there was a grat deal
Good value for money
Other than the tee boxes, the course was in great shape. I did notice grass seed in the tee boxes so there is some effort being made to fix that. It's not an overly long course, but still has a challenge as it is pretty tight and water comes into play on a number of holes. Overall, for the price, it's a great course.
