About
Winchester Golf Club is a short and sweet 5,200 yards from the tips. Those looking for length will have to go elsewhere, but if you want a quick round, this course can be played in less than four hours. The course is situated among Brooklin's gently rolling hills, which are covered by forests that are part of the Oak Ridges Moraine. The player-friendly layout is ideal for beginners. It is also a great place for kids to learn how to play. The golf course is not difficult by any means but it provides good practice. There are a few challenges spread throughout, including a fair number of bunkers bordering the greensides. Its forgiving nature and risk-reward opportunities make it a great place for golf tournaments as well.

Winchester June 7 2019
Started on time, course is tricky if you don’t control your irons, not forgiving, greens need some work, 6th hole has a tree root starting to show, 4 hrs at a steady pace, good value for money. Will book again soon.
Pace
944 am tee time. They were over booked, only played 9 of my 18 holes. Some tee boxes had 3 groups lined up waiting. They had an afternoon tourney so time became an issue.
Slow pace bad greens
The title says it all, we enjoy the course probably one of our favourite courses in the Durham region! Unfortunately this was the worst experience I have had there, the greens were freshly irrigated and the holes were so big putting was horrible it made even shirt straight putts hard as if you caught a irrigation hole your ball was definitely not continuing straight if it wasn’t hit hard enough! Hole 5 the tee bod is sand and they have a make shift box that is rotted and has artificial turf on it, we were playing off to the side of the tee box as the make shift tee box was garbage, and the garbage collector there decided ask in a ride manor to play off the tee box that was made, it’s bot even level and it’s sunken in! The players in front of us were so slow looking for balls even when you ha e people on the tee box waiting, the marshal came around plenty of times nothing was said to this group! We had groups behind us pass cause the slow pace they skipped to get in front of that group meaning they likely missed two holes to improve the pace of play! We usually golf this course in just over 2 hours today it took over 4! Over all not impressed with the round !
Great course great price
Title says it all good layout if your a decent golfer this is a course you can shoot par. A few par 4s you can go for some short par 5s you can go for, but of you miss can become hard holes.
what a kind manager is !
I bought a tee time with power cart. But they did not give a power cart because of wet ground condition and also there was no pull cart be left . So the manager borrow a pull cart from near golf club by car. I appreciate that
great time golfing
a nice layout greens are in great shape but tee decks need some work . overall average 6 out of 10 . some really nice elevation changes as well .
Disappointed
I was excited about kicking off my season but didn’t want to bite off too much in my first outing hence I thought this shorty course might fit the bill. My disappointment stemmed from the fact that tee boxes were sloped in many cases wthl very little grass further challenging my less than perfect early season swing. Fairways were ok but again the grass was thin it being so early in the season. Greens were punched and not sanded and impossible to get anything close to a true roll. Carts were on their last legs and clubhouse has seen better days. Look for somewhere better to play as these guys need to either buck up or close this place down. (My buddy however loved it and shot two over!)
Fall Conditions
The only issue was t just been aerated, otherwise the course is still in great shape
Close to home
Course was ok for the price 40.00 with a cart. And super close to home 8 mins away. Course was in great shape and we enjoyed the round. A frost watch delayed us about 20 mins but still good.
Winchester
We gave up on the 14th hole, five hours ti that point.
Extremely slow and we didn't see a marshall.
