Golf Advisor: Top Courses in Ontario (2014 #14)
Reviews
Well maintained course, lots of challenges.
First time golfed at Paris since 2007, so did not remember the course layout. Started on hole # 10, golfing with a very helpful member.
The course has lots of variety, plenty of mature trees, narrow fairways, bunkers, water, and some challenging holes.
Unfortunately we were rained out after golfing nine holes.
Golf club was ready to give us a rain check until he saw it was GolfNow.com tee time, so said he would contact GolfNow and phone us. Have not heard back yet.
Overall a nice course to play
A few challenging holes. Would be nice to have guides for the 8 & 9th hole
Lots of challenges on par 5's.Elevation changes keep things interesting and views of the grand river enhance the experience
par 5's require well positioned shots. Ravines can be daunting but are playable. Elevation changes and river holes make the experience a pleasure. 5 sets of tee blocks should make the course playable for all levels of golfers. Some holes require thought off the tee. Big hitters will need to make sure they can cross the hazards before they break out the big stick. Layups can be profitable
Pace of Play was an issue
The pace of play was extremely slow. 5+ hours to me is unacceptable; lucky we were paired with good company otherwise it would have been overly painful.
Beautiful course...must play!
Played Grand Paris for the first time, it was great. Very well maintained with excellent fairways and greens. I was so impressed by this course. No complaints. Can't wait to play again soon.
Great course and layout but one major issue
I've played this course a few times over the years and have enjoyed each time. One item really bugs me though. I don't understand why Paris Grand fails to provide coloured flags for pin placements. Some pins do have the small flag on the pin but almost all the flags have slide down the pin into the hole. This system doesn't work well anyway. Please Paris Grand management (Golf North) spend a few dollars on the coloured flag system.
Pleasantly Surprised
Showed up for an early morning tee off. Course was in great shape. Not a long course but definitely a shot makers course. Great vistas from a lot of the tees. Tight greens and a few cruel Sunday pin placements..lol. It was our first time playing, we will be back and I would suggest it to anyone looking for a challenging round of golf.
