Oak Bay Golf Course
About
Carved from the scenic woodlands along the eastern shores of Georgian Bay, Oak Bay Golf & Country Club incorporates rocky outcroppings and natural water features into its challenging championship design. The eastern coast of the bay is one of the largest freshwater archipelagos in the world and is home to diverse flora and hundreds of varieties of birds and fish. Both the fairways and greens are sloped and well manicured. In addition to the many natural challenges, which include trees and ponds, there are numerous strategically placed traps to watch out for. Oak Bay is located less than two hours north of Toronto but its beautiful setting makes it feel much further.

Oak Bay
The course is well kept. Lots of great scenic holes The course is challenging
My wife and I had dinner at the clubhouse. It was amazing
We definitely will come back again
Tough little Gem
This course is a beaut. The greens are always in excellent condition. Fairways immaculate. Beautiful club house and good beer on tap.
It is a tough course if you’re not straight. Mark my words there is no searching for balls at all with poison ivy all throughout. There’s not much roughtonact as a buffer either. So I would suggest bringing extra balls if you are quite precise.
Other than that I find the regular rack rates sub par for the location but they always offer deals online and GolfNow. It’s a course worth playing.
Another great day in Muskoka
Course was in great shape. Staff very friendly from bag drop through pro shop right until tee off.
Bring lot's of ball's.
Beautiful course but no room for error, green's could be in better shape, had to wait on every shot. The course was saturated, every shot was muddy, poison ivy everywhere, bring lot's of ball's. Unhappy to drive an hour each way and pay $196, threesome and not be told the condition of course in advance.
Top notch
We played after the rain on Saturday. The course in general has great drainage, there where a few soggy areas but you didn't feel like you were standing in a puddle. The course in general is well maintained and a great challenge. I being older could not hit over a few of the environmental areas so I moved up to the red tee boxes from the whites. It is a premium course and scenic as well as enjoyable.
Upgraded
Hadn't played Oak Bay since they moved from the trailer. It appears they are getting things sorted out nicely. Beautiful club house where we came back too for Sunday dinner. Bit of a rainy day, but staff went out of their way to be helpful. Design and scenery have always been great. Still putting together some finishing touches, but I will make this (at least) an annual stop again.
Beautiful view
The course was awesome and challenging. The fairways were well kept, sand traps were hard and difficult to get out of. Also greens wet recently aerated which I was aware of however they were really bad. Did get for a good deal on Golf now but not sure it was worth it because of the greens. Will have to try again.
Terrible Greens
I have played greens before after being aerated but they were playable. Putting on these greens were impossible as no attempt was made to get rid of the plugs in the green and the number of holes were double what I have seen before. Would not have played there if I had been told " forget trying to put the greens".
Immaculate and challenging
Oak Bay is a beautiful track ... although there are a handful of homes that are pretty difficult. Not for beginners. New clubhouse and restaurant are excellent and the staff are very friendly. I play there a few times every summer and always enjoy myself.
unexpected surprise
we were promptly met by the front staff who set up our game. the course was immaculate including large and well maintained T decks, manicured fairways and large well guarded greens.
The front 9, highlighted by it's signature 6th hole, will definitely utilize most of your handicap but you can relax on a more forgiving back nine.
after your game you must have the famous pizza made from the imported fire ovens
definitely returning
Beautiful course
Course was in fantastic shape for this time of year. Second time playing, even better this time. Challenging but very playable. Immaculate scenery. Autumn must be unreal here with the colours.
Wish I liked it better
This course is in good condition and reasonable cost to play most days but my wife and I always lose at least a dozen balls every time we play it. I shot 55 41. Yep. Most other course we play even with high slope ratings we hardly ever lose a ball but for some reason this course eats them up. Lots of forced carries for both men and women and the fairways seem to ensure balls bounce into the trees instead of ahead or into the middle. Having played a lot of the top courses in Canada, I find this course frustrating to play while I have not felt this way about any other course I have played. Sorry
Hidden Gem on Georgian Bay
Straight up awesome course excellent staff truly a great place to burn a few hrs. Played a few times this summer all good all good! Was there fri sept 1 course was busy never seen it that busy but fri before long wkd to b expected. Lots of very slow groups not really there to golf but take a walk in the woods. It happens I get it many people do not know proper golf etiquette. Marshall could have been somewhat more accommodating but course had more resort type feel this particular day. There was a foursome up ahead of us that was playing a best ball/four ball? Match or something slowing all down.
However the other few times mon-Thur rounds fantastic pace of play.
Great clubhouse n bar staff kitchen w chef building some serious eats! Highly recommended mon-Thur tough track we play the tips n try to break 100 one of the best values in the area with out a doubt! Thxs guys c ya again soon!
Tough course if you can't hit it straight. Very receptive greens and consistent speed. Sneaky hard , looks can be deceiving. Does make you think.
Amazing course at amazing value
This is the best bang for your buck in the area. Muskoka bay, taboo, etc are all amazing courses but this course is half the price and the conditions and layout are just as good. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a great day of golf. And the food after your round is AMAZING! This is a must play!
I know how you feel . Even though I lost a lot of balls . I cant wait to play it again . Extremely challenging . and worth the drive from TO.
