Dragonfly Golf Links
About
Dragonfly Golf Club is located in the upper Ottawa Valley in the town of Renfrew, which sits along the Bonnechere River. The course sprawls across rolling hills speckled with exposed rock faces, mature trees, and sparkling blue ponds, all of which come into play throughout. The scenic surroundings can be distracting because of the panoramic views overlooking the Ottawa Valley, but the design will demand your attention. The front nine has a traditional links layout while the back nine plays more like target golf. Despite offering two unique nines, they blend together seamlessly to form a golf course that will test all of your shot making skills. In addition to the golf course, Dragonfly has a driving range with 20 hitting stations and the option of tee matts or natural grass. Chipping and putting greens with a practice bunker are also available adjacent to the range.

Very interesting layout
My wife and I enjoyed playing at Dragonfly. The course is challenging but not overly difficult. My wife enjoyed playing the forward tees. The course is very scenic.
Friendly Staff!
I saw this highly rated course on golf now and thought I would give it a try. This course was not as advertised. It is far closer to a municipal layout then a championship course. The greens were not fast and the layout is gimmicky. The fairways were like a pasture. The staff and clubhouse were excellent. So if you are going for a fun municipal type round then this is the place for you.

The evening was beautiful The course was amazing We also got an eagle Great day of golf
always green and friendly
Despite drought conditions the course is in excellent condition. Always fun to play here. Worth the drive from Ottawa. The course was very busy but still played 18 in just over four hours. Very impatient golfers behind us, but the marshal helped us out there. Would go back again. Thanks for the day
Best value in the Renfrew Valley
This course is amazing! Staff is superfriendly, course is very intriguing. I like starting on the backnine becauee i find no. 10 a very intriguing opening hole. You can play anything from Driver to 8 iron off this tee. These type of situations make the player think. Overall, Dragonfly is an excellent course that I will continue to play for years to come.
We'll be back
I've played this course three times, once in spring, once in summer, and once in the glorious blaze of fall. Conditions were excellent each time. It's hard to beat Dragonfly for scenery, challenge and variety. The front 9 is open, gently rolling and links-style. The back 9 is more of a highland course, with some tight holes, lots of slopes and elevation changes, rock outcroppings and great scenery all around. Pretty much a whole season's worth of variety on one day. Friendly place, too.
Constantly pushed
My wife and I are avid, though not great golfers. We chose to make the more than an hour long trip to play at Dragonfly hoping to enjoy a great day of golf. Instead our day was completely ruined.
We were paired up with two lovely young ladies who advised us they were beginner golfers and that was fine by us. We too remember when we started, and let's face it, most honest golfers barely break the hundred mark. Our troubles began when the clubhouse put a twosome behind us and expected us to play at their pace versus the foursome that we were. However we did not let that get to us and quickly waived them through so they could play at their pace.
When we began the back nine, we let a twosome who was also arrived there at the same time we did play through. Another twosome showed up being told to start their round at the tenth hole meaning we were now two twosomes and a foursome all at the tenth together. Despite our respectful play allowing others to play through, it seems that this was still not good enough for the over-aggressive club management . We were then told we could not play one of our holes and were expected to pick up our balls and move through skipping a hole even though we were well ahead of the foursome behind us.
I think it is absolutely disgusting that we were not allowed to play the whole course and as such my wife and I were so angry we left having not completed our eighteen. Suffice to say we will not be wasting any more time or money going to Dragonfly. With golf courses all over going into bankruptcy; it baffles my mind why they would want to drive customers away.
Great course...tough layout
The course is very tight with many precise shots needed. Great layout as well as nice greens. Excellent value for the money. Will play again.
Dear Steenroller,
Thanks for taking to time to play Dragonfly Golf Links. There are many course in the area and we are honored that your gave us a chance! Looking forward to seeing you again!
Dragonfly golf course
Great course the front 9 was a little ho hum but the back 9 was spectacular. From angled fairways, raised tees and hills galore there's something for everyone. Fairways are narrow but are complemented by huge greens.
Dear Davidbeach
Thanks for your kind words about our golf course. It means a lot to hear you say that "there is something for everyone". I think I blue tees are as difficult a course as anywhere in the Valley, but we are very excited about our new Forward tees which allows a beginner to play the same course without getting "beat up" Hope to see you again soon!
Great variety of shots required
Some really interesting holes. Lots of water and elevation changes.
Thanks for the kind words Melville29744575! We like to think that Dragonfly has something for every golfer of every skill level
Hope to see you soon!

Not bad for Mid May
Really enjoy playing this course, worth the drive out to Renfrew, the pace of play is slower if you play later in the afternoon. Greens on the front nine are below average right now.. By the middle of June the Greens should be in excellent shape as they normally are.
Dear r1kinds
Thanks for making the drive from Ottawa! Just played this AM and you are right, the green are much better now. Our spring was so cold that the grass did not grow as fast as we would have liked.
Hope to see you again soon!

Really Great Course
Course has only been open a week, but was in fine shape. Everybody is friendly here, even the maintenance guys on the course. I really liked this course and expect it's pretty fantastic a little bit later in the season. I expect the tips would be a real challenge.
Dear Readlorne
Thanks for joining us this spring. We never get tired of hearing that you (value customers) appreciated our friendly atmosphere, and our course conditioning. We finally got some warmth and rain recently that has brought the course conditions near near perfect. We believe that "the tips" are as difficult a challenge as you will find in the Ottawa Valley!
Thanks for choosing Dragonfly!

Wet and over priced for spring
We played here just after the course opened and they definitely opened too early. Seems like the owners are hurting for income and wanted to be the first course open with snow still in the bush and around the greens. The course was extremely wet and they were over charging for the spring conditions. We heard several comments about the price from other golfers. The greens were bumpy and full of aeration holes. The course has great scenery but we will not return anytime soon.
Dear golfer1893,
I am sorry that your visit with us did not meet your expectations. I assure you that the owners are not hurting for income, but it is a big deal for us to open as early as possible. Like our golfers, we cant wait to put winter behind us. Our opening week is always well attended because we are willing to open our course earlier than most. I sincerely hope that you will consider visiting us again soon, as we have continued to invest in the course conditioning, the clubhouse and its surrounds. You wont be disappointed! Thanks for your feedback, the Dragonfly Team
Hi Wad40
Sorry to read that the course was not up to expectations. As you know, the rain has played havoc with our golf season, and there are areas of our fairways that were so wet that we had trouble getting our mowers to cut them. Your comment about our greens being slow is curious as we get compliments daily on the speed of our greens. The problem with a course like ours, one that welcomes golfers of all skill levels, is that if we speed up the greens too fast we notice that our pace of play suffers. We pray for sunnier days ahead and hope that you will visit us again. Best regards, the Dragonfly Team
