About
Nestled in the heart of the Ottawa Valley, Renfrew Golf Club has a beautiful landscape of lush meadows and rolling hills covered with mature forests. It is one of the most scenic spots in the valley. Originally opened as a nine-hole golf course in 1929, Renfrew has long been known as one of the area's best courses, especially after the second nine was added. The layout features lightning fast greens that are large and undulating. Renfrew Golf Club's tricky fairways are quite hilly, which can make you feel like the hole is farther than it is. Golfers will face a variety of hazards including tall trees, strategically placed bunkers, and water hazards. Many of the tees are elevated, providing stunning views of the surrounding countryside and the Bonnechere River watershed.

Bad weather but good golf
The weather was overcast with a steady sprinkle of rain, but the greens were in relatively good condition for this time of year.
Hidden Gem
Found some great deals on GolfNow.com and we have played Renfrew several Friday mornings for under $15 with a cart. Incredible deal! The front 9 is the old course with a typical old course layout, with some challenging holes, but the back nine has some really great holes. #10 with the 428 yd up hill par 4. The green on #12, and two really great finishing holes with "the over the valley" par 3 17th, and the par 5 18th. Conditions have always been really good/great, with the exception of the greens be slightly slow early in the summer. A great deal for the money!
Hills, hills and more hills
took my two nephews (12 and 13) who just started golfing last year and they had a blast. It was busy but didn't have to let any players pass. Nice wide fair ways and the biggest and best greens. The scenery was excellent and I intend to go back when the leaves change...it will be wonderful. A very friendly staff and we were early and they sent us out right away. Excellent day!

Leaves made it difficult to find your ball on some holes.

Great older course
Fair course, but you have to make quality shots..Lots of elevated greens , so no rolling onto the greens, all carry.Difficult course to walk, suggest taking a cart. A few blind shots, so if carting don't be afraid to go ahead & look at the hole design.Enjoy playing there always.Try the draft beer from Peterborough after.

Very good course, in great shape. Pace of play good. Very pretty course.
Great deal
The course was in great shape, despite a previous week of hot and dry weather. We attributed this to a regular high level of maintenance performed by the greenskeepers. The course offered just the right amount of challenge (20-something handicaps). Our 1:30 PM tee time worked out well as we had no one in front of us until the 15th hole, and even then the foursome ahead of us was very quick. Great value for the money.

Always in great condition although this time I found that the fairways were quite dry-greens were excellent though!
great course
good shot values throughout and a few really spectacular hole with a couple of impressive elevated tees. there's even a 2nd cut between fairway and rough.
greens are slow and some tee boxes uneven, but these are minor complaints. overall an excellent golf experience!
Great course
The course was in great condition. The fairways are well kept and the greens are in great shape. The touching moment was seeing the deer along the hole, you realiE just how peaceful it is.

The Renfrew Golf course is in wonderful shape.
Tough course due to fact that you have a lot of uneven stances when playing your second shot.
The greens are rolling perfectly.

Fun Course Layout
For an older course it is very well cared for. The layout is well done and forces you to use every club in your bag. Greens have a lot of undulation and depending on pin placement, sometimes your best approach is center of the green (don't go pin seeking).
Great local course
Beautiful course in natural country surrounding If you are senior like me would recommend a cart as quite hilly in places and long walk. Great value thanks to discount from Golfnow.com. Course in excellent condition and foursome easily completed 18 in 4 hours.
Patience is key
Great course to play but it could get frustrating at times because of slow play. I understand that some people like to walk the course which I have done in the past but walking the course is a challenge in itself. I've seen many people dragging their feet after 5 holes of play which becomes a definite contributor to slow play. I wish the course management would make cart use
obligatory for non members. It would certainly speed up pace of play and at the same time bring in more revenue for the course.
Excellent course worth the drive!
Course was in excellent condition considered the time of season. Fairway and green are in good shape. Staff were very friendly. Certainly will be back this season
Beautiful course
Renfrew is a beautiful course with a lot of elevations. It is not the most difficult one but it is a good challenge for sure. The green and fairways are in very good shape.
The staff was very professional and polite.
I would go back to this place anytime.

Course nice and hilly fairways. Sometimes hard to find tee boxes (white to red).

the greens were a little shaggy and only in average shape. I have played this course when it has been in much better shape.

Well we took a chance...and it poured on hole 3 and 4 and then the sun came out and was beautiful. Love playing this course!
