Eighteen Hole at Valley International Country Club
About
Set amongst the tall palm trees and tropical conditions, this 18-hole course was one of the first tracks in the Rio Grande Valley. Built on both sides of the coastal tributary, water comes into play on 12 holes. Beware of the wind, but when it's calm your tee shots will find wide fairways and generous landing areas, and the approaches are into medium-sized greens with an average speed. Get to know the speed of these fair greens and you will start rolling in 10-20 footers with confidence.
Hole 4 is the number one handicap and plays 422 yards from the tips, where water crosses the fairway in the landing area and menaces over the right side of the hole. Other notable holes are the long par 3 10th hole with its peninsula green, as well as the 17th (512-yard par 5), which is loaded with water on the right that crosses in front of the green.
Getting there : On south Hwy. 77, exit FM 802 and turn right. Proceed to McAllen Rd and turn left, where the road eventually dead-ends at the parking lot.

Interesting course
We checked in a little early since it was our first time here and the folks in pro shop were very friendly, even let us tee off a little early. The course does need some work but it was a fun course. Houses are a bit close. I would recommend you bring mosquito repellent.
Great course to play very good layout challenging but not overly chalanging
Great course wife , I , a friend and a beginner played the staff at course we're very helpful the burgers were out of this world great place to play
Great course and getting better!!!
Course has come a long way. Looking a lot better. Keep up the good work
I like the long par 4's
I like the long par 4's, but I wish there were more Par 5's. The greens are getting gradually worst.
Nice course to play
Nice course to play and ,staff was very nice and helpful. Would recommend it to all.
This course is a challenge
I will definately play this course again. I thought the the staff were very friendly and couteous. They did not have the arrogancy that some course staff have.
Great value in south Texas.
Great value in south Texas. Course is in good condition with lots of in-law water holes.
Coming back.
This is an old par 70 course built in the early 1920's. It was once The Place in the area. A few bad owners later, and it is headed back.
Staff is wonderful, Rick, Jerry, Eric at.al.
I appreciate the commitment.
VICC is a great course to play!
The course is in good shape, friendly people and not crowded!
Awesome golf course
Had a great time with some friends and family..... Sure will stop by later
Pretty settings but poor condition
TEE boxes very dry. Poor grass on all areas of the course. Great for tournament s and such.
this course gets a lot of play DEC-March
Good course for beginners or average golfers. Play can take over 4 hours because of inexperienced/older patrons.
This was a fun course to play.
We were able to purchase a t-time through hot deals. The time was perfect for my spouse and me. We had a short wait for a cart to be available, but were able to t-off a few minutes early. The fairways were in general in good shape. Occasionally a dry spot, but overall good. The greens were fast and fun to put on. We played quickly and seldom had to wait on t-boxes. The Rosaca's made for interesting t shots as did the many palms. One ate one of my balls, never to be seen again. I would recommend this course to others.
Good Course Great Value
I enjoyed the course very much. Looking forward to next time as first time there were hidden hazards that I was unfamiliar with.
Great Value
PLayed for the 3rd time in 6 weeks. Course continues to improve. Greens are consistent but a little slow. Fairways are in OK shape for the most part. Will be back again this winter
I always enjoy this course. Lots of trees and water.
Had a good day at one of the best courses in Brownsville. Played the front nine and was a good game when at the tenth a thundered storm moved in and stopped play. The greens were seeded the day before but slightly noticeable. It's still one of the best courses in south Texas. I really like golfnow, just present email at counter and you're good to go. Love it.
They need to work on their grass and bunkers.Trim some trees
They need to work on their bunkers. The grass on the fairways and around is not maintained. They had a fallen tree that they need to removed.
Much Improved
I have played this course off and on for over 20 years. It still and is receiving attention. With that said it is in the best shape I have ever seen it. The tee boxes are filled in and looking good. Greens are in the best shape ever....smooth, rolled and cut. They still are a bit on the slow side...Fairways are better and they are working on several. This layout dates back to the 30's and is one of the best 18 hole layouts around. Go play and enjoy!!
