Pelham Hills Golf & Country Club
About
Situated just outside of Welland, Pelham Hills Golf & Country Club offers a parkland-style course that is easily accessible from Niagara Falls. With the Niagara Escarpment serving as a backdrop, the golf course has a rolling landscape covered with large ponds, wandering creeks, and towering trees. The Pelham Hills layout features elevated tees and undulating greens that are heavily guarded. In addition to numerous bunkers there is also strategically placed mounding separating the holes. The front nine has a few demanding holes that require long carries over ravines but there are also many birdie opportunities. Pelham Hills Golf & Country Club's back nine tests your drives more than your shot-making skills. The golf course is a formidable challenge but generous fairways make it more player friendly.

Good experience well worth the trip.
After 3 days of heavy rain this course was in good condition, friendly staff made it an experience that we will enjoy again and the food was as good as you would get at any golf course.
Slow pace
Foursome ahead of us could have used a marshall to move them along. Other than that had a great round of golf.
great challenge for the average golfer
staff was great, greens were well taken care of. We had heavy rains the night before and the course drained quite well.
Overall it is a nice mature track.
This course lets you use a good variety of clubs.
The course is in great shape. The trees and water are very challenging.I like the idea the carts have ball & club cleaners.
Great condition.
Pelham hills is in great condition. Played at 8:30 and finished before noon. Greens are in great condition. Putts rolled true. Definitely worth the $25 we payed to walk the course. Would reccommend playing their and possibly becoming a member. Shot 3 over on the back nine.
This course is average at best
This course needs alot of attention....tee-off boxes are in bad shape with litle space to tee off on flat surface. The fairways hard and very, very bumpy
Traps are hard with 1930 rakes
This course is not worth $40
Very hilly front 9 , back was more difficult.
Had a great time staff excellent and very friendly. We would return again.
Has lots of potential.
The course maintenance is lacking and could use some work. Fairway grass was fairly long making for a lack of consistency from fairway to fairway. Green speeds were very inconsistent. Bunkers need to be worked on as they are very hard. (there was no rain in the previous 24 hours). Overall course has potential and if some work is done could be a nice gem in the niagara region.
Great course
Lots of open space, lots of challenging holes, interesting water obstacles and roving Canadian Geese!
I enjoyed this course, the staff was courteous, the other players were friendly and the course itself was well maintained and interesting.
Definitely for all types of players, though amateurs beware, your balls will disappear if you're not careful.
Great Course!
Good Layout, Greens need some work.
This course has a great layout, with a wide variety or doglegs, elevation changes and hazards on many holes. Because of this there is great potential however there are issues.
The greens are the extremely slow even on a hot dry day. The rest of the course, fairways, bunkers, tee blocks are all in average condition. There should be more cart paths around the course.
The staff was very friendly, much better then many courses around Niagara, we even got free bbq burgers / hot dogs after 9 holes which was a part of the long weekend deal.
The pace of play on the long weekend was a bit slow, however i play this course many times every year, and normally it is quite open and you can fly around the course very quickly if you wish.
Great potential but course needs serious maintenance
Overall I enjoyed the layout of the course. Nicely designed, some rolling hills, not too much water so you were not losing your balls. However, the course is not well maintained. Often times I didn't even realize I was on the fairway as it was poorly maintained with weeds, crab grass, clover grass, or even missing or dried dead grass and this was on the fairway. Its a shame to see the course in this shape. I would love to golf here again but not worth the money. In my opinion its worth maybe $25-30 max with a cart. For the money they charge you can go to much nicer courses that are maintained to a reasonable level. I believe $50 for the Niagara region should be very decent conditions of green grass, little to no weeds.
This course is challenging for beginners.
This is my first season playing golf and this is the most challenging course that I've played to date. The first nine offers many challenges and demands a lot of accuracy in order to stay out of trouble.
greens are very slow and tee boxes need attention
good course but, greens are slow and need rolling and cutting and tee bobes are vvery uneven
Great for hacks
This course is pretty simple, all the fairways are pretty much straight to the pin. Not a challenging course but good for the average to hack golfer.
It was a hot day and we were parched and didn't see the beer cart until the 16th hole. I guess they're not too keen on making money. I would play again but not for a while as there are probably more interesting courses.
They definitely need to consider a path to the fairway from the white tee box on 15. That walk to get there and back is pretty silly. It's not that interesting. Next time I would just tee of at the blues.
Overall, a good but not great course.
A great layout with very good conditioning.
My buddy and I walked. Our t time was at 8am, had no one in front of us. A tight, challenging course, especially from the tips. We loved it.............will return soon.
Player friendly with a few interesting risk/reward holes.
It's a park style course which is a feature that I like. Lots of chances to test yourself and be imaginative. Tee boxes were a little tired, but not enough to hinder. I like the tee boxes to be billiard table flat, but that's my personal foible. Recommend this course and will play it again.
Your average track.
Nothing really stood out on this course. The layout is alright but the greens were slow and the fairways thin in spots. Good warm up for other courses in the area but make sure you get a hot deal as there is much better value at other courses in the area.
Good Course
Course layout is great but does need some attention in some areas, Overall it's a good course to play on and staff is very friendly
Lots or variety. Very enjoyable. It would be nice to know the yardage to water crossing the fairway.
Interesting variety of water, bush, sand traps and topography.
