About
The Heron Course is one of two 18-hole courses at Cardinal Lakes Golf Club. It is the club's newer championship layout, designed to complement the original course, the executive-length Sparrow. It is 6,765 yards from the back tees but it feels as though it is considerably longer since many holes play into the prevailing wind. The golf course combines elements of classic links, parkland, and Carolinian courses. The generous fairways are guarded by bunkers and the large, fast greens are gently contoured and surrounded by trees. Water is a prominent feature throughout, coming into play on all but four holes. The layout saved the most challenging for last with its signature 18th hole, a par 3 with a tricky island green.

Excellent condition
Loved the course and will be back, greens had been double cut for an upcoming tournament and were so much fun! The course was fair and you paid the price for errant shots, golf the way it should be! very demanding of good shots.
A great selection of holes
A course where club selection is important. Every approach shot must carry a bunker if you are not in the right position off the tee. There are large ponds everywhere and streams running along several holes. The course is always in great shape because of all the water. This is a real gem.
Sparrow Lakes- Heron
Hitting fairways results in good scores here. Course was in great shape and greens fast. Avoid the many water hazards especially the par 3 18th.
Great coarse for a small town
coarse looks like it should be easy but your soon fooled.Water and bunkers are in perfect positions.Club house will surprise you
its quite nice.
A nice course with some challenging holes.
The course was in good shape especially the greens. Not overly long but shot placement is very important. A good test for the average golfer.
