About
Cardinal Lakes Golf Club offers two 18-hole courses, a championship and an executive. The Sparrow Course is the original executive layout and while it may only be 4,909 yards, it offers the same challenges as its championship sister course. The generous fairways, many of which are doglegs, are flanked with rough areas and there are numerous ponds and lakes that come into play. Surrounded by trees and bunkers, the small greens demand accuracy. It may be a short layout, but this formidable golf course requires careful course management, proper club selection, and solid short game skills. While it may often be overlooked because of its length, the Sparrow is Niagara's most formidable short track

Another Great Round on The Sparrow
We love the Sparrow. Purchased a Hot Deal through golf now. With the fee charged, it would have been almost cheaper to book through the golf course directly. Thankfully the weather, although a bit chilly, was great. We would not have been able to cancel if it was raining as predicted.
The course was, as always, a pleasure to play. We were able to get out a bit early which was awesome.
cart rental
The course was in good shape , the greens were very receptive and fast, the pace of play was good, When I golf with my son we have to rent a cart as his knee are to sore to walk from a hockey injury, I found their cart fees to be high as I have found with several courses this year, I can rent a car for a day for what I paid for the golf cart and was very disappointed with this aspect as it cuts down on the number of times I can golf on my senior pensions
Evening play
Have often played this course in the day time. This round was 4:55 pm. Lots of kids fooling around on the course., people jumping in front of you, making for slow play. Do not suggest this course for evening play.
Course review
We've played Sparrow many times. It's one of our favourites, especially at the start of the season. It's a relatively easy course - but challenging enough after a Winter (and, thanks to ridiculous prov. gov rules, Spring) of sitting idle.
Pace of play was slow this day. Normally my husband and I can get through a round, at Sparrow, in about 3 hours. This one was just under 5 hours. Had it have been a little less windy/cold, the long round wouldn't have bothered us much but, because it was a bit chilly and very windy, it made the round slightly less enjoyable.
The course looks better than it has in the last 3 years we've been going there - fairways and greens especially so.

This was my second time to Cardinal Lakes Sparrow was hoping on playing the Herron unfortunately I was late in booking. Course was in great shape only complaint was carts were no longer provided because of time of year, very understandable but I’m not a fan of walking.

Course was wet due to recent rains but, was playable..
Good condition for this time of year. I like this course because It requires one to use every club in the bag. Even though it is short and par 67 it requires one to think.
Great short course!
Cardinal Lakes -Sparrow is an interesting short course 4900 yards from the Blue tees. Greens were just aerated due to end of season, but played as good as usual and are in good shape. Recommended and easy to get tee times.
