Coyote Ridge Golf Club
About
Coyote Ridge Golf Club, opened in 1999, features some unusual holes that traverse a variety of unique terrain. Each nine is strikingly different -- the front plays through a burgeoning residential community, is generally wide open and void of trees, and takes on the characteristics of a links-style course.
Water comes into play six times on the front, including the extremely difficult ninth hole, which doglegs left around a lake that stretches all the way around the green. Survive the tee shot by bailing right if you have to, but consider laying up on the approach since the water bends all the way around and surrounds the green on three sides. You’ll still have the chance for an up-and-down par, and playing for bogey is much better that rolling into the turn after a double-digit disaster.
Also on the front, No. 7 is a fun par 3 because of the 70-foot drop in elevation. The tee shot goes 165 yards over water into a very wide, challenging green.
Coyote Ridge Golf Club's back nine rolls through an abandoned rock quarry along the Trinity River, featuring more trees and elevation changes.

A public course that’s well maintained!
As mentioned in the title this course is very well maintained. They also provide range balls so you can get a warm up in before your game. The front 9 is a bit different in style compared to the back 9. I will definitely play this course again.
Coyote Ridge
For starters the sand traps are in fantastic shape! I spent a good part of my day in them so I am very familiar with their condition. The rest of the course is also in very good shape. A few fairways are starting to suffer from the summer heat, but nothing that takes away from the enjoyment of the round. Played in under 4 hours and can not wait to go back.
Awesome! Thank you so much for the great review. We are glad you had an incredible time, and we hope to see you again soon! Thanks for choosing Coyote Ridge Golf Club.
Well maintained but very slow
Pros: The course is in great shape and offers a unique and challenging layout. Bombers beware this course is more target golf oriented playing short and tight. There a lots of non-driver tee shots.
Cons: The pace of play both times I’ve played here has been miserable. There are 2 groups waiting on every tee box and the marshall is nowhere to be seen. 5+ hour round.
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass on your feedback to the teams in charge so they can work to make changes. Thanks for visiting Coyote Ridge Golf Club. We hope to see you again in the future.
One of our Favorites!
Always play this when it comes up in this price range! Such a great maintained course with creative layout! White sand in the traps is a big plus. Could be trimmed a little better but hey...it's a public course! The club house is super nice serving super good food. We played on a Thursday and saw the cart lady every few holes! It's a nice place.
Wonderful! Thank you for taking the time to review us. Your feedback is valuable, and we look forward to delivering you excellent service again soon. Coyote Ridge Golf Club thanks you!
Course good and Staff friendly
Need to fix the golf cart ordering at turn. Causes backup. All else good.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are sorry to see that your overall experience was anything short of 5 stars, but we hope you'll give us another try in the near future.
Good course but members are rude
Exelebt course to play in.. great layout. Greens I. Excellent condition but some members decided to delay the tee time by getting the scheduled tee time with out any warning or word exchange..
Different than that.. it was a very good experience.

Fun day
We teed off at 8:30am to beat the heat. We finished just after noon. Perfect. Pace of play was great until #11 as that tee area and a good distance towards the Green was still flooded. There was some other standing water on the back nine but none of it got in the way of play. - the greens had been aerated and there was still sand on them but I think everyone understands the need for this seasonal maintenance to maintain the high standards you’ve set. Love the course - it’s our favorite in the area. Everyone is super friendly from dining room staff, Marshalls and bev cart girls.
Awesome! Thank you for taking the time to review us. Your feedback is valuable, and we look forward to delivering you excellent service again soon. Coyote Ridge Golf Club thanks you!
Great Layout
Really enjoyed this course. I was surprised there were so many hills and water, although the water didn’t come into play much. I would have rated the course conditions higher, but the frequent rains had affected them. It was a fun course and will certainly play it again.
Fantastic! Thank you for taking the time to review us. Your feedback is valuable, and we look forward to delivering you excellent service again soon. Coyote Ridge Golf Club thanks you!

We love hearing about our golfers' experiences, ALBEEVERS. Please tell us more about what you enjoyed from your round with us. Thanks for reviewing us!
Solid not spectacular
Fun course with good fairways and decent grass.. Greens a little on slow side due to looks like it's been punched recently. People in clubhouse were very easy to deal with and grill there was good.. It's not worth $50 dollars which is what I paid after taxes but if u can get it cheaper it's fun. Play is a little on slow side which didn't help. Overall solid not spectacular.
Great! Thank you for visiting us at Coyote Ridge Golf Club. We appreciate your 4-star rating and review. We hope you join us for another round soon.
SLOW SLOW SLOW
Pace of play was awful. We talked to the "Marshall" and he said "well, it's hot" NOT a good answer. Took 5 hours to play our round, HORRIBLE especially when it's HOT! I went inside to tell the guy behind the desk and reminded him that slow play is the biggest knock on his course. He was not phased... I just don't get it, but I'm DONE giving theses asphools second chances. They just don't get it.
Hi. Thank you for reviewing the course. Let us first start by apologizing for the delay of play during your round. This is by no means the standard we strive to achieve. We are going to escalate your feedback to our team so we can make improvements before your next game. We will continue to work towards an excellent experience by using your comment for guidance. Thank you for playing Coyote Ridge Golf Club. We hope to see you again soon.

Nice facility
The greens had recently been plugged for air. Very slow pace, the group in front of us had a player that had probably never been on a course before. Never once saw a martial. 4 hours and 40 minutes.
Thank you for your review! We apologize that our conditions didn't meet your expectations and that the pace of play was slow. We appreciate your review and we hope to have you back again soon!
Great! Glad you enjoyed your time with us!
Beware of punched greens in June
I've never played greens punched in June. I wish I was warned and I would not have wasted my time or money today. It didn't help that the jerks ahead of me were slow and didn't know how to wave a group through. The layout was the only saving grace for this place. The rest was your average muni. The punches greens were a complete surprise to me. In Texas, this really only happens in March and April. I don't plan to come back to this course.
Thank you for your review! We're pleased that you enjoyed our layout but we apologize you weren't notified of our recent aerification. We appreciate your feedback and we hope you'll give us another try in the future!
Great Course and Facility
Amazing course. Only very subpar is the greens as they were being redone Fairways spectacular. After the food and beverage area was incredible
Thank you for your review, russ10s. We appreciate your patience as we are diligently working to improve the condition of the greens. We are happy to see you had an overall positive experience and will pass along your positive experience to our team at Coyote Ridge Golf Club. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
Punched Greens Don’t Take Away From Great Experience
I was just passing through the DFW area and wanted to get a round in before my flight. After reading a lot of reviews of different courses (there are *almost* too many options to choose from) it became apparent that I was in the middle of aeration season so I just picked the one most convenient to my location that wasn't too much, Coyote Ridge.
A lot of things to like about this course. First and foremost, the service and amenities are fantastic for a round that can sometimes go for less than $40. Very friendly staff, valet cart service, free range balls (mats only when I played), great restaurant and locker rooms facilities, and good practice facilities.
As previously mentioned, the greens were only a week past aeration and it really showed. Definitely a 2-putt max situation with lots of unpredictable bumps and speed changes. I made just one put over 6 feet and it was mostly luck.
Other than the punched greens, the course is also still recovering from storms and flooding. It doesn't really affect play though but there are several detours for the flooded cart paths. These temporarily issues aside, the course is in great shape with fantastic fairways and well-maintained tees, rough, and bunkers.
The layout here is unique and there are a lot of fun holes including several challenging par-3s that are long or over water. There's also a very good variety of par-5s with some get-able in two, others that really force a layup but all of them manageable. Three shorter par-4s bring your round to a relatively forgiving finish but many may not appreciate the funky finishing hole that takes driver out of your hands (for most players) and requires marksman-like accuracy off the tee and a delicate approach shot to a shallow and unreceptive green that slopes front to back.
Pace of play was a mixed bag. With a tournament teeing off in front of my 3-some, it took 3 hours to play 11 holes, but they then cleared out and we finished in a respectable 4:05.
Hi Ben. We appreciate you taking the time to leave a detailed review of our course and rate us. Thank you for the 4 stars and being so understanding in spite of the recent rain! We aim for a 5-star experience, so we always welcome feedback for improvement. Thank you for playing Coyote Ridge Golf Club.
Just awful
What you need to know - i have played every course in DFW over the years. I am very fair and honest when I write these reviews. Coyote Ridge.... is just awful. The fairways were perfect. Tee Boxes are filled with weeds. Greens had just been aerated (with no mention from staff) and pockmarked and sandy. Several bunkers had exposed areas of carpet and lining. Several flooded areas, including a permanently flooded area on the back 9 around holes 10, 11, and 12. The trees they planted a few years back now reach the ground and the mowers must be broken - I lost several balls within 5 yards of a green/fairway. The flooded areas also cause a massive amount of mosquitoes to be present, and they loved me. The experience was a total disappointment. I had to quit after 12 holes due to insect bites and losing my 2 sleeves of balls (I am a 3HCP). I do hear the 19th Grille has a great burger, but I was in no mood for food after this disaster of a round. My advice - skip it until the waters recede and they can maintain the course properly.
Thank you for your review! We apologize that you didn't enjoy your experience with us and that you weren't notified of our recent aerification. We appreciate your feedback and we hope you'll give us another try in the future!
