Coyote Ridge Golf Club, opened in 1999, features some unusual holes that traverse a variety of unique terrain. Each nine is strikingly different -- the front plays through a burgeoning residential community, is generally wide open and void of trees, and takes on the characteristics of a links-style course.

Water comes into play six times on the front, including the extremely difficult ninth hole, which doglegs left around a lake that stretches all the way around the green. Survive the tee shot by bailing right if you have to, but consider laying up on the approach since the water bends all the way around and surrounds the green on three sides. You’ll still have the chance for an up-and-down par, and playing for bogey is much better that rolling into the turn after a double-digit disaster.

Also on the front, No. 7 is a fun par 3 because of the 70-foot drop in elevation. The tee shot goes 165 yards over water into a very wide, challenging green.

Coyote Ridge Golf Club's back nine rolls through an abandoned rock quarry along the Trinity River, featuring more trees and elevation changes.

Good Play

If you are ever in Dallas, I recommend this course to play. Although in the winter season, the course was in good shape with spacious fairways and moderately fast greens. I

Most underwhelming experience ever.

For any rate over $40 this course is trash. I wish I had anything positive to say about this course outside of the nice pro shop people and the breakfast burrito. I’m an avid golfer thru all seasons so I know your first thought is winter, but no. The lack of pride from the maintenance team and superintendent is obvious. Massive tire tracks thru fairways, 100s of divots on every single fairway, not a single flat tee box. Trash all over the rivers.

In the last 4 weeks I have played:

- pecan hollow

- Westridge

-twin creeks

-heritage ranch

-oak hollow

-riverside

And they all smoke this place out of the water. I wish they wouldn’t pay Golf Now to say it’s a premier course, because it’s just not. The owner must have cut his losses a year ago, and is gonna sell the land for housing.

They could put 2 million dollars into this place and it’d still look like a junk yard. I might return if posted greens are $35 but that’s it.

Sorry for the harsh words but this place deserves it, don’t come here unless complete rework.

Course management is good.

I feel it every time I go, but this place is definitely different from other golf courses. First of all, the quality is good, and the clubhouse seems to be the best here in Dallas.

Good, but could be better

Nice facility and good overall amenities, although not updated in a while it seems. Playing is fun, good scenery and layout. The greens are very difficult to read and have varying speeds and grains. On the downside, range was closed because of recent rain, and the rental clubs were extremely subpar for $60 and would not recommend renting. Overall, $109 for a Sunday round seemed overpriced and would expect an older course of this quality and amenities would be in the $75 range.

Coyote Ridge

Great course. Only issue I had was course was cart path only. I would have liked to know that at booking. It required a lot of walking which I’m able but others may not be able to walk that amount.
