Coyote Ridge Golf Club

About
Coyote Ridge Golf Club, opened in 1999, features some unusual holes that traverse a variety of unique terrain. Each nine is strikingly different -- the front plays through a burgeoning residential community, is generally wide open and void of trees, and takes on the characteristics of a links-style course.
Water comes into play six times on the front, including the extremely difficult ninth hole, which doglegs left around a lake that stretches all the way around the green. Survive the tee shot by bailing right if you have to, but consider laying up on the approach since the water bends all the way around and surrounds the green on three sides. You’ll still have the chance for an up-and-down par, and playing for bogey is much better that rolling into the turn after a double-digit disaster.
Also on the front, No. 7 is a fun par 3 because of the 70-foot drop in elevation. The tee shot goes 165 yards over water into a very wide, challenging green.
Coyote Ridge Golf Club's back nine rolls through an abandoned rock quarry along the Trinity River, featuring more trees and elevation changes.

Your Day
It was a great day for golf, no sun wind mild, and a great day way on the way.
Good course!
The only thing is they don’t give free water! It’s expensive! But great course and club house!
Don’t waste your money, I shot 67
Don’t waste your money. Course is in horrible shape. Greens are bumpy and poorly cut. Casual water all over the back nine. No water in any of the coolers! Pro shop staff only is rude and seemed like they only catered to you if you were of the same ethnicity of the majority ethnic group of the area. Range balls were 50/50… No cart girl at all on the course. For $40 it’s worth it, bring water. For their standard rate it’s not! Owner has three courses for a reason, don’t give your money to this asset. Highly disappointed of the course conditions, the rudeness of the shop staff, and the lack of drinkable water on the course.
Doing the best they can given the weather
This course is downstream of the lake. With the rain we’ve gotten much of the back 9 is in a flood plain, and only now is drying out. It’s getting better but certain parts of the back side are still recovering. It’s hard to fault them too hard knowing this. Course is always great. 3rd time out here. With it being wet, the balls held on the green better, and the normally wildly slick greens are now more manageable. Honestly now may be the best time for anyone local to come learn this course because next week I’m sure it’ll be dry enough to cut the greens again.
Storm roughed up the course then staff made it worse by overpromising things
Coyote Ridge was one of my favorite courses for years and it’s close by and always been a nice treat. Recently, The storm has done a number on the course so that holes 10 and 11 are closed down and there are several downed trees etc. As a courtesy, one of the staff members called me after booking on golfnow to let us know “specifics” on the conditions on the course, which was actually a nice courtesy of them to do, but they Proceeded to give all wrong information from there about the range being open (it wasn’t in the morning when we arrived) and they said the greens had been aerated a couple weeks back and they were better now, but they completely unplayable basically yesterday… The bumps condition was so unpredictable that it was basically not worth putting out. The greens are one of the best parts of this course in the past. And I asked the gent who called me if the rest of the course was OK, which he said that it was, when really, it’s in bad shape from the storm. WhileI appreciate the discounted rate that I was given upfront, I would’ve canceled this round of golf if they had been more realistic with the current condition of the course and not just mentioned that 10 and 11 were closed. Was not a course I’d play for the next few months as they recover. Just my opinion.

Great staff, great layout
The course was under maintenance, but the staff communicated the challenges very well in advance and we had a great experience.
Fun To Play
Very fun to play scorable golf course.
Only issue was the back 9 was flooded.
They let me play the front 9 twice for the same price.
Back nine down
Showed up an hour early to learn range is closed. Sent out early, played nine (alone), then went to hole 10, cart said hole 10 and 11 are closed go to hole 12. Ran into a maintenance worker who informed me entire back nine is closed. Odd, first I hear of it is then. Went back to hole 1, now teamed with two other singles, play 1, 2, and get rained out. Stop in pro shop to speak to guy at desk…no offer to give me a rain check, very untalkative.
Not the best experience by far.
Very good golf course.
My first time playing this course. Every thing was awesome. Peaceful and beautiful. I would play here again.
Back nine was atrocious
The staff was very nice but other than that, the course was mediocre for a $100 + green fee. First, on the driving range you were only allowed to hit irons so no driver or woods. The front nine was in pretty good shape but can’t stay the same for the back nine. Holes 10 and 11 were closed due to flooding from “letting water from Lake Lewisville”. The guys I was playing with received a discount for the round but I was offered nothing. Drove 20 min from Dallas for this garbage. There are better $100+ courses in DFW.
