Coyote Ridge Golf Club

About
Coyote Ridge Golf Club, opened in 1999, features some unusual holes that traverse a variety of unique terrain. Each nine is strikingly different -- the front plays through a burgeoning residential community, is generally wide open and void of trees, and takes on the characteristics of a links-style course.
Water comes into play six times on the front, including the extremely difficult ninth hole, which doglegs left around a lake that stretches all the way around the green. Survive the tee shot by bailing right if you have to, but consider laying up on the approach since the water bends all the way around and surrounds the green on three sides. You’ll still have the chance for an up-and-down par, and playing for bogey is much better that rolling into the turn after a double-digit disaster.
Also on the front, No. 7 is a fun par 3 because of the 70-foot drop in elevation. The tee shot goes 165 yards over water into a very wide, challenging green.
Coyote Ridge Golf Club's back nine rolls through an abandoned rock quarry along the Trinity River, featuring more trees and elevation changes.

The bar tender was great food was good, after playing 6 holes at 7:30 am and had a mad dash to clubhouse due to a severe storm that moved in we were entertained with the staff and clean club house and great hospitality, only to find out the course closed and never offered a rain check for our efforts.
We don’t live here and were in town for the CMA that was held there and thought playing a round before the red carpet would be a great opportunity to blow off some steam with some fellow artists would be a good way to spend the morning and poke at one another with good humor and playing with someone else’s clubs would make for some good conversation at the after party.
Great day at Coyote Ranch
My first time to play this course and I was very happy to do so. The clubhouse and practice area were great. The course is interesting. Front 9 what I’d call a parkland style. Back nine is fairly challenging: more of target golf. Got paired with two other guys that had good games. Just a great golf day. Also the polana problem mentioned in other posts seems to be subsiding.
Would not recommend
For the price that was through a hot deal, this course is in very poor shape. Most greens are like putting in a cabbage field, lots of poa on most greens.
Great layout
The course layout make this course very enjoyable to play. For a course in North Texas, it offers great terrain variations. I consider it a target course, as most of the holes are not long. At this time of the year, the fairways are green and soft. The course has a note about the greens, specially in the front 9 were not great - but it should be temporary. So this time the greens are slow. The course is well equipped with restrooms, water and good beverage cart. Unfortunately they don’t allow walking with push carts, but considering the terrain, I understand..
Definitely I enjoyed and will play again.
Great course…that’s all.
Course was in good shape except for the greens, which are in really bad shape. The mats on the driving range are very cheap and the practice area is tiny. I’d recommend for a friend but would want to be a member.
Sunday Golf
Played Sunday after a big rain the day before. Most of the greens on the front nine were almost unputtable. Seems like they were punched recently but many greens had some pockets of foreign grass taking over. Extremely bumpy and made many putts just “hit and hope”. Overall the maintenance seemed to be going down . Given the $100 price I would play other courses.

Sub Par course
The new owners have really improved the maintenance and quality of the grass. However this course has a horrible layout, and is a massive overcharge on the quality of course.
It’s not really a fun or memorable golf course. They need to redesign about 1/3 of the holes.

High expectations causes disappointment
I always enjoy coyote ridge especially since their new club house and the course layout is really fun. However I was extremely disappointed last Sunday. When paying $120 for a Sunday round I would expect the water jugs around the course to be full, no every single one of them were empty! The greens look horrible, completely covered of overgrown little weeds making the putting surface extremely bumpy. Please Fix your greens and fill up the water dispensers, you have a special golf course and for a premium price we expect a premium experience.

Great layout, bad greens
Course looked greatob line. Great clubhouse. Fairways and tee boxes were solid. Really liked the layout, challenging but fair. Only issues were the greens on the front nine. The greens had growth coming through and rolled terribly. The back nine greens were much better. I'd play it again.

Overall had a blast
The staff was friendly and attentive. They were accommodating due to us being late because of traffic. The greens could have been better. They seemed to have weeds and seasonal poa that made it rough to putt in.
The GPS in the cart is off and doesn’t allow you on the fairway so you’ll definitely need a range finder or app to determine distances.
The tee boxes were all very close to one another. It didn’t feel like there was much competition from each of them except for maybe two or three for women tees.
It’s definitely a challenging course but as a beginner it was nice to be given a challenge. Looking forward to coming back.
Nice track, but
The track is creatively designed and has several challenging holes. It is a logical layout as my first time around I only had a couple of holes that I got into trouble that I didn't know was there.
But,
the greens have a problem and they need to sort it out. There is a weed present 9n all the greens that makes putting in a straight line very difficult.
As well, there is a lot of trash in the water especially on the fifth and ninth holes. There is major construction on the 12th.
All that to say is, ai paid a total of $100 for a mid-week round and left thinking ... meh

Slow and PoAna
Unfortunately the greens are being invaded by PoAna. We finally broke free on the back and got past the slow group

One of the worst in DFW
This course used to be great. Greens are almost completely lost to tuftgrass. Large amounts of stagnant water mean the course is infested with biting horseflies. The bunkers are laughably bad. Every green is covered in too much fertilizer; after playing nine holes my fingertips were turning green.
It’s amazing how much this place has fallen apart. I would recommend going to literally any other course in the area for a better value for your money. I think Coyote Ridge will have to completely replace their greens and most of their fairways and tee boxes in order to become playable again. Otherwise this course will go the way of Stewart Peninsula
