Very enjoyable course. Greens were about a week away from being perfect. Still had a little sand on them, but they were nice

Nice course
Played 12-12-21. I enjoyed pretty much everything about the course. The only negative marks I have are with the bunkers, or lack thereof. You would also be highly penalized for missing the fairway by as little as inches. The grass was so thick that it was nothing less than impossible to find a bad shot. I guess I should learn not to make those shots, and not blame the course conditions. Overall, a very nice round.

Solid golf in a unique and vibrant setting
College golf courses tend to be a little different depending on where you go. Some are more welcoming - particularly to those unaffiliated with the school - than others, to put it mildly. Texas A&M's on-campus course goes at the "friendly and accessible" end of the spectrum for sure, from the affordable rates to the very friendly folks minding the pro shop.
As for the course, Jeff Blume did a nice job updating the original Ralph Plummer design. Given an open, sloping piece of property surrounded on all sides by campus and town, he dotted the landscape with more than 150 bunkers, but managed to keep things from feeling unnaturally claustrophobic. The first hole is very strong, with centerline bunkers forcing a strategic decision immediately. Other highlights include the beastly (especially into the wind) uphill par-4 9th.
Several holes track toward the southwest, affording views of A&M's Kyle Field, one of the largest football stadiums in the country. If you like seeing how golf can be played in varied settings, you will really like A&M.

Not worth the money!
Poor signage/directions. Score card does not have a course map or a layout for each hole. Only green shapes and pin placement. If you know the course, then sure maybe you don't need that. When it time and you have to hunt for the correct holes or tee boxes not so good. For a course that was shut down for as long as it was for improvements of the greens, some are not in that good of shape. You'd think during all that time off they could have worked on the bunkers. Many of them are just holes in the ground. The driving range is just a giant eroded dirt field. Whatever that is that you call the rough. It's some kind of deep, lumpy, matted together mess that steels balls.
