Belterra Casino Golf Club
About
Belterra Golf Club was designed by Tom Fazio and it has been ranked as one of the top 20 casino golf courses in the country. It is conveniently situated just a short drive from Cincinnati, Louisville, and Lexington. The challenging layout takes you through a scenic landscape of rolling hills covered with thousands of trees and several sparkling lakes. Elevation changes throughout the golf course provide challenges as well as scenic views of the Ohio River and Log Lick Creek. The course has fast greens and well manicured fairways. Water hazards come into play on several holes but just as tricky are the imposing bunkers that are strategically placed along the greensides. Included in the round at Belterra G.C. are unlimited practice balls to use on the driving range, putting and chipping greens, and practice bunker.

18th Signature Hole...Gorgeous Photo submitted by JCZents33 on 04/26/2013
Good condition all things considered
Sand traps in rough shape. More courses should have rakes on the carts, so traps can be maintained during COVID.
Great Course - Great Day
Not the first time playing the course. Each time I play I find it to be challenging and well manicured. Given that the area has had over 4 inches of rain in the last 10 days the course was very wet but still very playable.
Conditions
We had been told this was a premiere golf course. Nope! Course is in rough shape.
First time playing...will go back
The. Course was in nice shape despite the area receiving over 5 inches of rain a few days earlier. Staff was friendly asking if it was our first time and thanking us for visiting them. Greens were fast despite the soft conditions, and fairways were in good shape as well. Overall, nice. Course with some character and fun holes. Will definitely go back.
Great course
The course was in great condition. No broken tees on the tee boxes. The e look electric cars were in new condition. The only negative was the GPS was not connected in the carts and we had slow groups in front of us and no ranger helping them move faster
Great Course if you can get a deal
The course is beautifully maintained and each hole almost feels like its isolated from the rest. You rarely ever see other golfers. I see the typical normal rate is $120, but if you get a deal its great.
They have new carts (although the last two times we've played, the GPS system isn't up and running on them yet). They offer waters in attached coolers and sometimes even a cold towel when you are done with your round.
Beverage and snack cart is cash only (they will take a cart, but they have to go back to the clubhouse to process it).
Thanks for being safe during the pandemic!
Played here twice this year, both times were fantastic. Just want to say thank you to the management there. They ask you 3 questions regarding covid-19 (travel, symptoms, etc.) and take your temperature before allowing you to golf. Good to see people being safe during the pandemic!
Difficult to find any faults with this course. Nice mix of easy and difficult holes.
Great course
Great course layout and course was in great shape. They take care of their players with free range before the round, towels and bottled water in the cart, and a cold towel at the end of the round. Would highly recommend.
Course is fun to play but challenging
The gentleman working in the pro shop does not need to be working with the public. Very unfriendly. Not welcoming at all. Outside attendants were great. They were friendly and helpful.
The sand traps were awful. Totally unplayable. Fairways were okay. Greens were okay but very very slow. Off fairway areas were shaggy with weeds etc in planting beds. Rough was fair and looked healthy. Tee boxes were okay,
Beverage cart gal was very friendly.
Doubled Down on Belterra
In my second trip to Belterra, things were more of the same, for better or worse. Covid 19 is keeping things on the course less than ideal. I guess no rakes in bunkers means that maintenance doesn't have to take care of them??? Wasn't in many, but noticed that grass was growing in a handful of them and others were not in great shape....although some were good. Greens could use some speed, but I assume that the course's shortcomings are due to possibly being short staffed a bit due to these difficult times...? I love the layout of the course. It is a challenge, for sure. Staff was friendly and attentive. Really, with all that is going on in the world, it was still very nice...It could be better though.
A must play
I drove an hour just to play this course and it did not disappoint. I got it on a GolfNow deal but I would go back and play this course anytime it was such a great experience. My only complaint is that the "beer cart" did not take a card. However, as we are in the middle of a pandemic that is understandable.
When you play this course you will do yourself no justice if you play anywhere but the tips. I shot a little higher than average but it made the round quite a bit more challenging; thus, more fun.
Gone Downhill
Play here every year and for the first time in years I have to say I'm disappointed. The bunkers were atrocious. There were rocks of various sizes in every one that I saw. Some had weeds growing out of them and the staff made no mention of this prior to tee off. The greens were sponge like and slow, with aeration holes still showing. I'm not sure what caused the decline, but its in the worse shape of any course I've played this year. I'll call before driving 3 hours round trip to play there again.
Two words...slanted tees!
This course has slanted tees. The right side of the tee boxes are slightly...maybe 2 or 3 degrees...higher than the left side. This promotes a block to the right. This is not needed. The course is pretty and plenty tough enough without the tricked up tee beds! It has high rough and plenty of bunkers. The fairways are wide enough though BUT...the slopped tee boxes are a real pain! Play the course...just be careful on the tees.
Belterra is awesome
Great course. A hidden gem. If you’ve never played here then you are missing out. Always in great shape and rarely crowded.
Course plays long
Beautiful course, but it plays super long. Played the pro tees, scorecard listed course as 6400+ yards, but even with solid drives we were hitting 5i+ into the greens.
