Challenging
Course in good condition but not designed for a high handicapper. Very challenging. Would not recommend playing on a Monday morning -- too much maintenance. Felt I was being followed by a lawn mower the entire round. Starter failed to mention a set of tees had been moved up and none of the tees were set.
Best course in the Niagara Region.
The course was in great shape and the staff is very friendly.
Typically $45 - $60 this course is the best in the area.
Always 5 stars.
The course is always in the best shape possible and the staff consistently give great service.
Typically $45 - $60 this is the best course for the money in the Niagara area.
This course has great features
The fairways are like walking on carpets and the greens very smooth. Well maintained.
Don't miss this course
Very well conditioned, great layout. Even has 'COLD' drinking water on a number of holes for free (not like most courses which rip you off for a $.50 bottle of water). The course keeps your interest up and makes you think on a lot of shots!! Great course which doesn't separate you from your wallet!
Awesome layout
This course is beautiful and the staff and starter gave great advice on how to attack the first few holes. I would definaetly play here again
Very nice course
Excellent quality course. We enjoyed our round very much.
Very pleasant day.
Challenging but enjoyable course. Interesting layout. Greens and course wre in very good condition.
Great Layout
Great weather. The course was challenge for all levels of play depending on the different tee blocks you play from.
Great golf with great friends.
Worth the drive
Staff friendly and helpful. course condition pristine. Too bad we Canadians have to wait on the bridge 30 to 40 min. to get here or you would be very busy!!
A Really Great Day's Golfing
Excellent course conditions, tee boxes, fairways, greens and bunkers all in fantastic shape. Relaxing pace of play..Friendly staff and nice facilities. I'll definitely play there again when on my travels. A really enjoyable day.
Impressed
First time playing the course and I was very impressed with it. The course was challenging but playable, and rewarded good shots. Very well maintained course, and greens were in great shape, rolled very true. Definitely good value for what we paid, strongly recommend it to others.
Built for a Tournament
Course layout and facilities is built for "prime time"
just not there yet., will be, takes $$$
Would and will play it again.
Excellent conditions considering the weather we've ad
The course was in great shape considering the long winter and extremely wet spring. The greens were recently aerated and treated with sand. I don't think it affected the putting at all. I will be looking to get back to play the course again soon.
Great Course
Always a pleasure golfing Seneca Hickory Stix. Even though conditions were windy and cool it gave me a chance to realize my current ability and how much more practice it will take to golf well on a challenging course like this one. I'm in for several more rounds this year.
Nice course to play
Just a reminder to the long hitters, On hole #11 keep the ball to the left, the water on the right will get you.
Mid summer condition
Course was very good condition. Greens were flawless. Cart paths only and quite a hike from some paths
Excellent condition for the time of year
The course was in excellent shape given the long/hard winter of 2014. It was wet due to the rain the nite before, however the course drained sublimely with no standing water on any of the fairways or greens. Coupe of drives plugged, but that's expected for this time of year. Pace of play was great as we finished in 3 and a half hours. Great day on a great track. Worth the drive from Toronto as it's great value for the money. Round was $54 taxes in.
Overrated Course
I am not a fan of this course as some others are. The course layout itself is very odd in some holes. The first and 9th hole has a shared fairway with hackers slicing and hooking the ball into each other. Many of the hazards are hidden on this course. Hole 2 you cannot even see that there is a creek to the left of the green, another hole on the front I believe hole 6 is a terrible design ,it is a split fairway and the tee boxes are not built up enough for you to have any clue where to hit the shot. The pace of play is slow, the conditions were rough due to the amount of play. I also was not a fan of the heather in the middle of the fairways around the bunkers. Okay course but my favorite course in the Lewiston/Youngstown area is still Niagara Frontier, I recommend you try that course.
Great lay-out, and excellent fall greens.
The two players that we were paired with were exceptional. Very friendly, and good golfers. This was our first time playing this course, and were pleasently supprised with the maintenence and friendly clubhouse personel. The manager actually came out to see how we were doing. Shortly after he returned to advise us that the conditions had dried enough for carts to be permitted on the course. This helped everyone playing at this time to pick up the pace, and we were able to finish in about four hours. All in all, it was another great golf experience.
Thanks again Seneca Hickory Stick,
Tom McQ
