Mill Run Golf Club - Championship Wheel/Grind Course
About
Nestled among the rolling hills surrounding Uxbridge, which is just 40 minutes from downtown Toronto, Mill Run Golf Club offers 27 holes of championship golf and also an 18-hole, executive course. The championship holes are divided into three distinct nines that are played in three different 18-hole combinations. The Wheel/Grind Course is heavily forested with many elevation changes throughout. The back nine, the Grind, is Mill Run Golf Club's newest layout and it is also the shortest of the three. Although it is shorter in length, towering trees and doglegs incorporated into its layout demand accurate shot-making in order to do well.

Wheel 7 Photo submitted by PeteSladen11 on 10/30/2016
Absolutely beautiful course. Challenging but fair.
I really enjoyed playing this course. Fairways and greens were very well maintained. Staff were very friendly. Beautiful course layout with excellent scenery. I would definitely play here again.
Course
Great course, great services. Great value, worth to come back again!
Nice course
Enjoyed playing this course. Back nine....the wheel, was more challenging than the the grist. Greens were not in great shape, but they were very reasonable.
Pleasant surprise
Last time I golfed here the course was under construction and now was greatly impressed at the quality of the greens and fairways.
Run of the Mill
Course was ok, the pace of play however, was absolutely horrible. It was slow as molasses at the South Pole. On every other hole, there was a different group behind and in front. At least two groups simply drove off the course, complaining of how poorly managed the tee times were. On several occasion, I was tempted to leave. 30 minutes per hole is very unreasonable.
In short, I was very disappointed and would definitely think twice before playing this course in the near future.
That said, lets get some more courses on the list...Royal Asburn, Wooden Sticks, Angus Glen, etc....
Hint, hint!
Great Deal-Last Minute Golfer Website
I've played at Mill Run and always enjoyed my experiences at the course. I came as a single player for an early morning start. Unfortunately, my t-time was bumped later as the group I was originally set to play with, decided to bring an additional player. The starter apologized for the inconvenience to waiting for an additional 30 minutes but provided me with no compensation. No free range balls, food discount...nothing.
I played the Grist and Wheel courses. The Wheel is a challenge as there are alot of elevated greens, doglegs and creeks. Pretty course.
The greens and fairways are in good condition. I just wish that golfers fix their pitch marks. The two players I played with never repaired their marks. They didn't take the hint when I repaired mine.
After the game, I went into the clubhouse to get something to eat. I decided to have a tuna sandwich and ate it outside. The sandwich was so dry and flavorless, I couldn't believe that any golf restaurant could make this kind of mistake. I was hungry so I ate it with lots of water. The "halfway" restaurant was closed when we completed our first-nine. We didn't see a beverage cart until we were on our final two holes. I understand that alcohol can't be served until 11 am but what about everything else?
The Lastminutegolfer website had a great deal($30) for golf and cart. Thank you.
Pleasantly surprised.
I had been to Mill Run many times back when it was an 18 hole faculty. The improvements since becoming 27 holes are mainly course condition. Yesterday's greens are the best I've ever seen at the Mill.
Course is challenging but fair. There are no real forded carries. I laser is a must for some dogleg distances. However plates on tees are very helpful with carries and end of fairway markings. My compliments to your green superintendent.
Paul McKee. Newmarket On.
1st time playing the 3rd nine
The course was having their club championship so they started me on their 3rd nine ( Grind ). I was pleasantly surprised by the layout but huge distances between holes in places so best to take a cart. Finished the round on the Grist nine.
good value
Wheel is original 9, tight target golf. Grind and Grist more open and better for letting the shaft out
Great Day at Mill Run
The course from tee to green was in great shape. The greens ran quick and true. The only negative I would comment on is the sand depth / consistency in the green side bunkers. I found the sand to be shallow. I guess the idea is to stay out of them!!! Pace of play was very good. The back nine could have used a marshal to speed things up but we still played close to 2hrs. I will be heading out there again this year.
course was in great condition
Mill run is one of my favorite courses. We travel out there from Toronto just to play It. However this past week when we plated, it seemed to be way overbooke. It took our foursome (all decent golfers) about 6 hours to play the 18 holes. Every shot we were waiting 5 minutes. That being said, the course was very well maintained. My friends and I will return to this course, but we will be taking a break, probably for the rest of the season.
a great day
Course is a good test ,lovely country setting. Really enjoyed .
Great value for money
$45 cart and taxes included I was a little skeptical at first. After playing, the course was in beautiful condition. We played The Grind/The Grist. Not the most challenging but definitely worth every penny!
We had a great experience
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Mill Run and were treated exceptionally right from entering the pro shop, to the starter and the hospitality staff. Mill Run is a good rest of your golf game.
good value and a nice challenge
The course is well maintained by the staff but NOT by the GOLFERS. Fix your divots, it only takes a second.
Good course, as said, well maintained and there are a few challenging holes. Friendly staff and felt it was great value at the afternoon times and will definitely make it out again.
The Grind is a grind
Enjoyed a great late afternoon round playing the Wheel and the Grind. Really liked the variety and the challenge but the Grind ground us up a bit.
Overall the fairways, greens and bunkers were in great shape but a lot of patrons don't seem to repair their ball marks. Can't wait to come back.
Great Day on the Golf Course
I played Mill Run on Sunday with a friend. We were also paired up with another awesome twosome. the course is in great shape and very well organized. We were not held up at all. The signs are very easy to read and gave you all the info on each hole. I can't wait to play this course again.
Good experience:)
Great value on the CHAMPIONSHIP COURSE through the discount with Golfnow, but don't use Google Maps to try and find the course. It is not accurate. The course is challenging and many holes are elevated, so I don't recommended trying to walk 18 holes.
Best bang for you buck!
This is a beautifully maintained course. Never felt rushed. Great value!
Good time
Quick greens the day I played. Many dog legged holes
OMG You hit the nail on the head! Worst round of my life! I walked off after 4 1/2 holes after taking nearly 2 hours to play!
Stay away from this course!! Unless you like looking at the birds... bring the binoculars!
