Mill Run Golf Club - Championship Wheel/Grind Course
About
Nestled among the rolling hills surrounding Uxbridge, which is just 40 minutes from downtown Toronto, Mill Run Golf Club offers 27 holes of championship golf and also an 18-hole, executive course. The championship holes are divided into three distinct nines that are played in three different 18-hole combinations. The Wheel/Grind Course is heavily forested with many elevation changes throughout. The back nine, the Grind, is Mill Run Golf Club's newest layout and it is also the shortest of the three. Although it is shorter in length, towering trees and doglegs incorporated into its layout demand accurate shot-making in order to do well.

Wheel 7 Photo submitted by PeteSladen11 on 10/30/2016
Good value for your $
Not great. But better than ok:) very friendly,. Not a bad place to spend a afternoon.
Wouldn't go back
Very unforgiving course. First hole on wheel is par 5 dog log with 2 creeks. It's also the #1 handicap hole. Terrible design to do that. The second hole is a par 4 dog leg which is #3 handicap. Far to tough of a course to be enjoyable.
Wheel
First time I played the Wheel which I enjoyed. Pace of play (4 rs 10 min) excellent for a Saturday
Great track
Played a lot at Mill Run in the 1990's, but hadn't played since the new nine was put in about 8 years ago... The course was in good shape, and the value was great at the hot deal rate. Pace was great until the 11th or 12th hole as no one was in front of us, and we played the front in less than 2 hours. The pace was still ok on the back, and we finished in just over 4 hours...
could of been great experience
The course was in good shape. The greens were nice and I played well. My only peve was that there was 5 twosomes sent out after our 4some. By the 4th hole we let the first one through. Then by the 7th there was another so at 9 we let them through too. By 11 there was a third group behind us. So on 12 we let them through. By the 14th there was another group behind us. We didn't let them through. We had had enough. Now we were not slow. We finished our round in 4 hours and 45 minutes but probably could of finished in 4 hours and 20 or so if we didn't have to let those other groups through. I blame the starter for this problem as he could of bunched some of the 2's together and our round would of been great. That is the only issue I had other than that I had a good experience.
Definitely not boring - Grind is very interesting
Afternoon play with no one in front. Excellent greens, differences in elevation make it that much more challenging.
Best greens in the area
We played the course this week (Wheel-Grind combination) and had a great time. The course was busy but the staff got us out quickly. The fairways were OK but growing in. We were told that breaks in the irrigation system had stalled the early growth. The greens were amazing; rolling true and quite fast. Good value for the money.
Good value but not in midseason shape yet
some fairways still showing the ravages of winter with bare spots. Some of the fairways were hard like cement. Nice course with some great holes but the fairways need some maintenance.
Nice course
This is a nice course - played Wheel & Grist. There are some nice elevation changes - greens is good shape, some winter damage on the fairways.
Disappointed for the price
I have played this course several times and found it to be a very good corse. I was quite disappointed in the condition of the greens. They were very rough with many very old looking holes in the greens. The sand traps appear to have been lightly raked on the top few inches but not properly worked up so it was like hitting off concrete an inch under the ball
I hope they get the course in shape as it is a shame to see it in this condition.
Always a pleasure to play here
Millrun is a fun course to play on, and fun for all levels, I truly enjoy playing there. Greens are still a tide rough but still a beautiful course. Very affordable for the price... Take advantage of spring deals
Aeration
Although the course was in really good conditions, it would have been nice to know about the aeration prior to booking. With the over-seeding, the greens were moderate speed with very few bounces. There were a few brown spots around non-functioning sprinklers on some fairways. Otherwise, a very enjoyable round.
Good Round
For early spring the course is good shape . Other courses in the area did not fair as well. Well worth the price to play.
A Good Place to Golf
Good course and excellent value. Staff is friendly and courteous as always. A good place to play golf at a reasonable price.
Easy Switch !
Had a tee time booked for championship course, however the frost delay backed up tee times almost 2hrs. We asked to flip to excecutive course 'Highland'. Staff was very accommodating. waited about 40mins and was second group off the tee. zipped around in less than 3hrs. Course was ok, bunkers poor.
Worth the drive
This is 50 km from GTA. The course is in great condition with friendly staff supporting it.
The Wheel and Grind are a good courses to play. You will be required to use most clubs in your bag.
Don't try to walk this course.
Great course for a great price
I have played this course several times in the past but this was the first time since I started golfing more avidly. Not an overly challenging course, but there are enough hazards to keep you thinking about the right shot. The conditions were great and the staff were friendly and helpful. I plan on visiting the course again before the end of the season.
Pace of play slow
I played this course on a Monday afternoon and only finished 11 holes in 4 hours. It's quite a nice course but I don't have 5+ hours to play a round of golf.
