Royal Manchester Golf Links
About
Situated along the shores of the Susquehanna River, Royal Manchester Golf Club is tucked away in the rolling hills of northern York County. The course is just a few miles outside Harrisburg but the traditional links design will transport you to the seaside courses of the British Isles. Like the Old Course at St. Andrews and Royal Latham, which served as the inspiration, the golf course has an open, windswept landscape with only two bodies of water. The 15th, the longest par 3 on the course, is the only hole set among the few trees that dot the landscape. The most formidable challenge comes from the prevailing winds as well as the strategically placed bunkers. Royal Manchester Golf Club finishes with a memorable view of its signature waterfall that cascades down into a sparkling pond.

Practice range can use work
The overall course is well kept and only a few years old..I think the cost is on the high side compared to other local courses. The range is definitely over priced $12 a bucket for balls! And the range it self is poorly marked with distances and just doesn't have a good range feel. There are a few practice greens that you can work on chipping which are very nice. If you like links courses this one is a nice one.
Great course!
Great layout on this course. Classic Links style! My only gripe was that all the greens were recently aerated. Other than that, if you're looking for a fun, challenging course, this is your place!
Nice links style course
Good course for the location. Nice links style course.
Great Links Course
We played this course in the dead of winter and it was still in great shape, especially the greens. It was my second time playing here and is definitely on my list of favorite courses in the area. It is a great challenge and fun to play anytime of the year.
Great condition for fall golf
Was impeccable condition for a fall round of golf. Greens were extremely short for lighting fast speeds.
very good
Practice facility was the best I've seen..Course was in great shape..100 percent WILL be back
Great course
I play here regularly and the course is in immaculate condition for the winter... plus you can't beat the price. I will definitely play again on the next warm day.
WARNING: TEE Time reservation policy is misleading
DANGER! Royal Manchester WILL charge you if you use there reservation system. the warning says: "Any changes to your reservation must be made at least 24 hours prior to your tee time. Failure to show up for your tee time MAY result in the full amount owed being charged to your credit card.
Great course, great staff
Great links style course. Best public course in York.
Top shelf as usual
We have been playing this course once a week
for 2 month now it it is always in tip top shape.
Keep up the good work.
Awesome course
In from out of town, my buddy and I played this course on a Monday around noon. Got on for a great rate (and it looks like their rates are pretty reasonable on weekends as well). The course was in absolutely excellent shape as the tee boxes, fairways and greens were probably the best I've played on all year.
Not much wooded area, but there are large mounds of high grass between holes which can make finding tee shots quite challenging. They had just cut the grass before we played, so it wasn't too bad. But bring an extra sleeve of balls if you decide to play here. Not too many others on the course, so we had plenty of time to look for misplaced tee shots.
A solid layout with two very cool finishing holes on 9 and 18 (both go over fairly large ponds which makes for tough but fun approach shots).
Beautifull Course, Very well maintaned.
Found this course in Excellent condition, from tee box to greens. Sand traps were outstanding. Very scenery landscape.
Greens and fairways in great shape. Got done in 3 1/2 hours. Excellent layout and challenge even from forward tees.
One of most enjoyable rounds I have played this year. Nothing to dislike about the course. Greens very fast, but smooth.
This course could be addicting
This is the second time I played this course in two weeks. I was delighted the first time, so I had to bring my Sunday buddies with me this time. Everything was great the second time. I would put this course on par with courses I have played in Myrtle Beach. Can't wait to play it again!
Great course.
Great course. My new local favorite. Well maintained course with some of the fastest most challenging greens I've played.
very good course
this is a course with good size fairways, and with perfect greens. course is lined with fescue so if you hit snap hooks, or big bananas, bring balls because you have about a 10% chance of finding them. very playable course with great conditions.
Immaculate Public Golf
A relatively new public golf course, Royal Manchester raises the bar in Central PA - well-designed, well-built, and very well-maintained links-style layout. Mounding & tall fescue frame most holes, some with scenic views - but rarely do you see any housing or even other holes. Tee boxes, fairways, and rough are all in very good condition, and beyond the rough, the tall fescue which is in play on most holes, is very penal. Greens are very excellent - i have the opportunity to play many private clubs, and there are many whose greens are no better & no faster than these. Overall, i almost always wish for the opportunity to give a fractional rating, but "round down" to four stars for most good courses on GolfNow for one or several reasons; in this case, my conslusion is a rare (for me) five-star overall rating !
GREAT VALUE
The course was in great shape as usual. The greens were sandy but they still rolled great. If you haven't played this course yet PLEASE DO you will love it.
VERY NICE
TEE BOX'S ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION, NEED TO KEEP BALL IN FAIRWAYS, VERY CHALLENGING.
Definitely a course I want to play again.
Tee boxes, fairways and greens were in excellent condition. The first cut of rough was thick and tough to advance the ball. If you hit your ball in the fescue, it will cost you a shot. Fun course to play.
