Turnberry Golf Club
About
Turnberry Golf Club may not have the length of its sister course located only 20 minutes away, Eagles Nest, but it has the same challenging character and unique layout. Molded from abandoned quarries, massive outcroppings of earth were recreated to look like the seaside dunes of Eagles Nest. This 3,400-yard, executive layout has sparse vegetation, generous green complexes, and strategically placed bunkers. The golf course begins and ends with a long par 4 with an interesting variety of par 3s in between. Each hole was designed completely unique from one another to emphasize variety and playability. At Turnberry Golf Club, golfers will be forced to use every club in their bag.

bang for the buck
12.99 18 holes
I love this course ,i play it all the time.
It will test youur short game
Great Par 3 Course
We really enjoyed playing this course. I definitely recommend getting a golf cart if you play 18 holes. It is a par 3 but it is very hilly. The course is very well maintained and the staff are super helpful and friendly. I would definitely play there again!
Nice greens, very challenging
Overall course was in great condition. First time playing here and I was very impressed. Easy to get around.
My only two negatives is our cart had bad brakes and beer cart closes at 7pm.
Hidden Gem
This may be a short course but it will test every club in your bag. What I paid for the round was a steal. I have paid more for a bucket of balls at the driving range. Turnberry also has a wonderful practice area to make sure you are ready for the challenge that lies ahead on the first Tee box. The round took me just over 2 hours to play, which is perfect if you have a busy schedule and don't have time to play a full championship course. I would recommend anyone to play this Hidden Gem and I will definitely be back!!
Not what I thought
Obviously didn't look at fine print. I thought I was going to a full course. This is a par 3 course, that most likely will have you waiting around forever.
Conditions were not great as it attracts very average or begginner golfers. This intern means divots everywhere and bad putting conditions.
Anyway, won't personally be going back, good for some players I assume.
Excellent condition, tough green.
fast and tricky green. Easy to 3 or 4 putts. Tough course for high handicappers.
Great par 3 challenges
Despite very windy day, enjoyable round of golf. Son was favorably impressed.
I WILL BE BACK, FOR SURE
Great layout of the course. 2 par 4's, the rest par 3's, challenging enough for the average player, but not difficult to shoot a low score. Greens played really well, stay away from the high grass on all holes.
Soggy everywhere!
Course was very wet, it didn't matter if you were on the t-box, walking the fairway or on the green, it was very wet...so much so that my summer golf shoes and socks got completely saturated so much that I could wring the socks out after walking 18, my feet wrinkled from being wet for 4 hours!
Spoke to Staff on duty about the course conditions as my new socks were ruined with swampy stains. Shoes needed to be washed to remove swampy smell. It was a very hot day, about 30* so wore summer golf shoes which have a net type upper (Nike) but course was soaking wet. Looked good from a distance but not so when you stepped on the course. Unfortunate as it put a "damper" on my enjoyment.
A Challenging and Pleasant Surprise!!!
Although it is an "Executive Course" with two Par 4s (1st and 18th) and sixteen Par 3s, this course is anything but boring. The variety of terrain and the configuration of the Par 3s make this course a demanding test that utilizes almost every club in one's golf bag. If you're walking, you'll get your "exercise." Overall, great value for your $$$ and an truly enjoyable three and one-half hours. Planning to return again soon.
Great executive course
The course is in great shape. Extremely challenging par 3 course. Lots of water, tonnes of THICK fescue and lots of undulating greens. Only bad thing to say is that our round was EXTREMELY SLOW considering it's a par three course. Over 4hrs
Ok but not for person who doesn't want to walk.
Golf course is tough. In good condition to play. Lots of hills to climb. And direction sign from green towards next tee could be better. There are signs but needs review by fresh man or second opinion from new player who finds it difficult to navigate.
Day at Turnberry
Great little track for some practice. Can't go wrong here especially for a twilight round during the week after work. Great practice facility, I was disappointed with the condition of the course, as many of the greens were not in very good shape
par 3 test
As a single digit handicap this is a great test for the irons. 16 par 3s that are a real challenge and the wind can be a mystery.
Fairways are choppy but that in reality only applies to the first hole and the final hole that are the par 4s
Greens are going to be great although early may still need work
A single peeve of mine is no water on the course. I think it is a legal issue but not having water for 4 hours is a bit draconian. I think all public courses should be obliged to sell botlles of water for 50 cents!! Still a 500 per cent mark up
Great value
When I hear a course is an "executive course ", I automatically think of a course with a few short par fours and the rest varying lengths of par 3s from 90 yards to 150 yards ...Turnberry is not that type of course
With the windy conditions on the day I played , the course played extremely tough ... Used 2 club lengths more than usual ....
Turnberry starts and ends with a par 4 with 16 challenging par 3's sandwiched between
Average length of the par 3's is 160 yards from the tips
I arrived early and was greeted by a helpful front desk and an accommodating starter who paired me up with an extremely nice couple & a friendly university student 20 minutes before my slated tee off time. Thanks Steve , Shareen and Benjamin for a great day ....
Facility conditions were immaculate ( washrooms . dining area)
Although course conditions were not the best ( rough greens ,brown areas in the fairway (Course got hit with a brutal winter) ,I plan to return and I would highly recommend this course .

Different from the deal
That day was my third rounding on this season and second deal with Golfnow.com.
My reservation was 3:10 pm but they allowed let me play on 1;00 pm. It was wonderful but different from the deal.
As far as my reservation was play with powercart. But the proshop staff let me play with pull cart only. And he said those kind of prepaid reservation is only allowed with pull cart.
Anyway, even the weather was not good enough with chilly wind to play, I enjoyed play for myself with good Hotdeal.
Early season
Unfair to give proper evaluation as it was just recently opened. Conditions were fair with brown patches everywhere including greens that were slow. Tee boxes were OK but with some rain and TLC I can see it back to being one of the best short game courses in the GTA. It was cold and windy 7C temps so it was a challenge. I'll be back for sure!
Some suprising challenges
This is a great course for seniors and an excellent course for those wanting to use their irons. Excellent course maintenance!
Great and challenging
A course with 16 X par 3 holes and 2 X par 4. You would think it will be an easy round. Wrong! The holes are very challenging with pretty difficult greens. You are happy that the ball landed on the green but... it can roll off and end up in the pond. You really need distance, good course management and accuracy. All together, a great course and I had a great round.
Miss The Green & You're In Trouble
Short course that demands absolute accuracy. If you miss the green you are in serious trouble. Even if you hit the green and are short, the putts are the most treacherous to read. Even if you have a short 4-5 foot putt, you could three putt as the greens break so rapidly close to the hole. I had several lip outs. This course is in decent condition though not as well maintained when it started out five years ago. Overall it is only a deal when you play on Golf Now. I wouldn't play this course at full price.
