The layout on the back nine is really nice including my favorite hole, the beautiful par-4 14th. Photo submitted by Back9Ben on 10/17/2018

Golfer Reviews
Over Priced
This course is over priced. It’s a good $55-60 course, but not an $85 course. Save your money and go play a course that should be an $85-100 course. Reduce the price by $25 and you wouldn’t have to hustle golfnow to fill your tee times.
Good conditions and fairly busy
This is a local course for me. I used to play it back when it was just 9 holes. Today, the rack rate is steep but there are reasonable ones thru golfnow. The conditions are good. The layout is a little quirky and there's a noticeable difference between the original 9 and the 2nd 9. Half of the holes, I won't see my drives land bc of hills and only 2 greens are somewhat elevated on approach. It winds thru a big housing development but it's laid out well where you won't find yourself hitting close to someone's backyard. Bombers may like this course as there are no severe doglegs and just 2 holes were a hazard traverses completely across the fairway.
I paid $50 on an early Saturday afternoon round and would happily do it again. However, I was informed it was half their normal rate and sometimes cart isn't included. I was questioned by the staff to see my booking confirmation. Apparently, some tee times don't include cart. Luckily, mine included but be advised to check before you book as this could lead to a heated conversation. They need to straighten that out and make it a more enjoyable check in.
Hard greens and blind shots
As only played here once before two years ago, I ended up overshooting on blind shots or ending up in bunkers on blind shots. I suggest you use the online fly-over video available before you play. The little map on the golf cart is difficult to understand.
Not great condition
I have playing here since it was a young 9 hole track. 2nd 9 holes were a great addition to the quite difficult but fun original. Disappointed in the large increase in price over the past few years but with the amazing increase in the development there, I can see the ability to do so. Also the winter CPO rule kept my group away. As for our round, I called to inquire about aeration and was told the greens were almost back to perfect. Not even close, the practice green was slow and bumpy and the course greens were a little faster but very bumpy. Bunkers were not in good shape. Fairways were starting to come in but still thin. The practice area is nice but they need to move the ropes for driving range more often as the area had little grass left. The clubhouse and bar/grill is very nice and snack bar at #10 well placed and easy. Potential to get back to being a great course is there but conditions not great now. Couple good weeks for greens, longer for fairways and bunkers need a lot of work.
Good round with OK conditions
Rained fairly hard Thursday so conditions were sub par to what I usually expect from this course. Give it a few weeks to sprig green.
What a treat!
Beautiful, challenging course that definitely saw me use every club in my bag. I average ~ 40 rounds/year, and it’s a rarity for me ro pay $80-$100/ round, so finding a great deal at this course on TeeOff was a very pleasant surprise.
Aeration
Booked on GN but when I arrived to course I discovered greens were aerated 2 days prior. Greens were impossible
I think this course is cart path only 90% of the time for no reason. Dry as a bone and cart path only on a 70 degree day with 40 mph winds.
Nice but not worth the price
Mag Green is a nice course and a bit challenging. While it was enjoyable to play the price was quite high at around $90 and then additional for a cart. There are other local courses that are just as nice for a lower cost.
If price is not a factor in your decision, you may enjoy Mag Green's course as it has challenging greens and a nice layout.
Would I play here again? Sure, but it wouldn't be often.
Great course - great pace of play
Course was excellent. They need to get players to fix green divots and take the sand. Besides that course was fantastic and pace of play fast.
Ok course, too expensive
I understand this course is in a popular neighborhood and gets tons of play but the condition of the course does not justify a >$50 cost. They rarely have a ranger and our round was extremely slow again
Solid
This course was recommended to me and it didn't disappoint. Tee to green was really solid. Bunkers were a little so so but overall a really good course that had some challenging greens. There were some holes that I would play different the next time but again it was fair and a good test.
Consistantly good
If you are looking for a course that is consistently in good shape you found it maybe a little pricier than other courses but it shows in its condition
i guess you shouldn't play on Sundays
Our foursome paid close to $400 including range balls and played well with in pace but had a local high school team (i guess they were members kids) hitting into us. Apparently they were playing through everyone very aggressively, The ranger intervened and apologized saying they were "very impatient", and made them skip a hole. That was the right thing to do , but if you are a serious golfer don't play on Sunday afternoons at Magnolia Greens, its more for member families. Other than that its an okay track.
TOP 5 IN THE AREA!!!
I cannot figure out why this course is only rated 4.1 out of 5 stars because it's way better! It's right up there with Independence and Royal New Kent! I always enjoy my time there and the people I run into are always good people as well! Wish I lived less than an hour away!
Wonderful place
Course is pricey, but I now see why. Course was in great condition and the course is very challenging. Definitely a ball placement course with not too many flat greens. Facilities are very nice as well. Will play there again for sure!
