Magnolia Green Golf Club

Played here for a 3:10 Friday afternoon round for $54. This is one of my favorite courses in the RVA area. I'm a 17 handicap, so not very good, but this course is a challenge for everyone that plays and is in GREAT shape right now. Greens aren't fast/slow i would consider them medium tempo, course fairways and rough are green but dry so bounce and roll is going to happen on most holes. Highly recommend you play here and for that rate for an afternoon round - its hard to beat.

Love this track...greens and fairways are in awesome condition. Greens can be a tricky if you are above the hole - so buy the yardage book - it will help you immensely. Well done Magnolia Green!!

The glacial pace of play was a real downer for everyones game rhythm . And on a weekday !!!!

We were trying to play here for my friends birthday. We showed up and we're waiting in line, however the woman running the cash register spent 5-qp minutes just talking to the person in front of us. Due to this we were slightly behind on when we were supposed to tee off. When she saw that we were now late she told us that we could no longer play. There was a 4sum walking in front of the 2 of us who were riding. There is no way we could have slowed down anyone. The woman working was very rude to us.

Course was in decent shape. Was never a fan of the layout and overall design but it's close to home. They raised the prices to a level that is not justified. Pace of play was fine till I made the turn. There is alot of distance between nine and ten. They allowed a twosome to go out in front of us and it brought the pace of play to a screeching halt. I don't know why that's allowed.

I think Magnolia green is the only course that would be worth the hour and a half Drive I took to get there!

Course maintenance staff has done a great job with the course keeping the greens and fairways in great condition. Couple spotty parts around the edges of greens, but over all great course that warrants the $60+ weekday rate.

Course is in awesome shape. Greens, fast and firm. Pin placements today were ridiculously tough.

Course is pricey but you get what you pay for. Magnolia will put smile on your face. Great round of golf.

I last played here a month ago when the greens were blazing fast and the pin positions in objectively silly locations. There were also a lot of bare spots and many of the bunkers were a mess.

Today's round showed improvement in all these areas. Much of the course is fleshed out, bunkers were better but still need work, and the pin positions were mostly fair. Add to that the speed of the greens were noticeably slower and the result was a score 15 shots better without playing any better.

But the shape of the greens, especially on the back nine continue to make playing here more of a chore than a leisure activity. This course beats you up, regardless of how well you play it.

The staff continues to be the best part of this course, among the friendliest group of people I've encountered on any course. I really wish the course was as kind as they are.
