If you read any reviews after August of 2025, they are fake and probably written and posted by the owner or he made someone write a five star, positive review. Acumen Golf is the most unorganized golf maintenance company in the Richmond area. The owner only cares about the bottom line and will do and say anything to cover his own you know what! The staff at both of his clubs are over worked and under paid. The moral is in the dumpster and he will threaten or straight up fire employees who do not abide by his England home training personality. Most departments are severely toxic and it’s only a matter of time before he fines himself in court getting sued for hostile work place environments.

Spend your time and money elsewhere, you deserve it!

The course conditions were absolutely horrendous The piece of plate was even worse. It took three hours to get through three holes. Most certainly will never go back.

Birkdale Golf Club in Chesterfield, Virginia is one of the most enjoyable golf experiences in the region. The course layout is beautifully designed, with a great mix of challenging holes and scenic fairways that reward smart play. Greens roll smoothly, and you can tell the maintenance team takes real pride in keeping the course in excellent shape.

The staff is friendly and welcoming—from the clubhouse to the starter—and the pace of play is usually very comfortable, even on weekends. The driving range and practice areas are well maintained, making it easy to warm up before your round.

Whether you’re an advanced player or a casual golfer looking for a fun, relaxed atmosphere, Birkdale strikes a great balance of playability and challenge. It’s a course you’ll want to come back to often.

Birkdale Golf Club is one of the best courses I’ve played. Great staff, top-notch service, and smooth operations from check-in to the final hole. The greens were in fantastic condition and the course design kept things fun and interesting the whole round. It’s clear a lot of care goes into maintaining this place. Perfect for both seasoned players and casual golfers looking for a beautiful, well-run course.

The course has some greens under repair but the greens behind them look stunning. You can tell these guys are taking their time to do things right. I respect it.

The staff was very polite. They made sure I knew the course was under construction with their bunkers and greens. Unfortunately when u have to create a hole in the middle of the fairway bc the greens are so bad it doesn’t feel like we should be paying full price. I know they are working on their course and I am looking forward to playing again when the greens are better. Cheering yall on for sure

Would not recommend this course for the remainder of the year! Greens are the worst ever! Should have offered all players you charged a premium price at least future round for the price of a cart fee. The staff stating a few greens were in bad shape was a major understatement! All the greens were bad, bad and bad!!! Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me! Birkdale got the last $70 from this avid golfer!

Have played this course many times over recent years and always liked it but they currently have a rot going on that we did not find out about until we got there. It was on almost all the greens and there is a temporary green on the 17th hole in the fairway. Just writing this so someone else can see this before going.

Greens in poor condition. Pace very slow last 9 holes. (No Marshall observed on course) Children fishing at water obstacles. (Safety) Residents walking dogs on cart paths. (Safety)

I usually enjoy this track, but, in the two weeks since I was last here, the greens have dried up something terrible. Good thing I got a deal on the fees. See you guys later in the year.

Staff and management here are top notch. Side note their seasoned fries they have ready to go in proshop are dangerously good.

I don’t know what’s going on here…There isn’t one good green on the entire course and we had to pay 68.00. All they gave us was a bag of 15 golf balls, no discount on greens fee. Don’t waste your time or money until the greens are back.

Greens are dirt and sand with small patches of grass. Tee boxes are dying too. Can’t believe they charged $76 for a round. Save your money and go somewhere else!
