Hope you can Draw the ball
If you are a righty and you can draw the ball then this course should be pretty easy for you. This is a beautiful course and it has a lot of scenic holes and trees. Lots of challenging elevation changes and blind tee shots. It can really test you if you are always pressing your luck with a long tee shot. In some cases you are just better off playing a shorter club down the middle or you are in for a long round. Greens are always smooth and fast when I play, but playable. Nothing crazy to think you are playing miniature golf and can't hold the green. Would definitely make the drive out there and give it a play. You won't be disappointed you did.
this course rocks, worth the drive
this course has kicked our butts each time we played it. very good condition for this time of year. we were running a little late and the pro shop staff took care of us. had a great cheeseburger at the turn. the woman running the snack bar was very friendly. and helpful.
Worth the trip to play this track!
Course was in great shape greens smooth and fast, it's worth the trip to play this course! I have played Sugar Tree a few times and the Staff is great, the course as as well, it's worth the trip.
Good course to play.
I had not played this course in some time but found it to be well taken care of and enjoyed playing it. The staff was friendly. Enjoyed my day.
Great Course
Fairways can be hard to find unless you know the course. Greens were in great condition.
Hardest course I've ever played
We were running late for our tee time and even though they were very busy, Craig in the proshop was very nice and accomodating about it. We were in town for the Cowboys game and decided to drive out to check this place out. Expect to get some big numbers the first time you play this course.....VERY NARROW and unforgiving if you don't know where to leave the ball. The course was nice and reminded me of "The Falls" in New Ulm, Tx..........I prefer The Falls...more forgiving and they keep it in better shape.
Challenging and well maintained.
Rain off and on thru the day, but this course drains well. Staff worked thru the rain as usual to keep the player experience a great one. Love this track and Golf Now's pricing makes the daya pleasure.
Challenging course, very well maintained, very picturesque
Truly loved this course. Heard about it for years. I am glad I finally made the trek out there. Well worth the drive
Well worth the trip!
Second time I've played Sugar Tree this year. It's a fabulous course...well worth the hour drive. Greens ran beautifully...fairways in great shape. This is a very challenging course...I do not recommend it for beginners! Not one truly easy hole on the course. Tight, lots of dog legs and elevation changes. I'm a 14-15 handicapper. Made two birdies and still shot a 91! Bring lots of balls, leave your ego in the car and enjoy one of the best courses in North Texas.
Shake The Sugar Tree!!!
A buddy has been telling me to go check this place out for years. Finally made the trek - absolutely worth it. Staff was super nice, as were the locals. Greens are pristine. This is a great place to geat away and have a great round. My one tip buy the $4 yardage book if you have never played it and stay right on the par 5's. Great elevation changes and a lot of strong par 3's.
OVER RATED
I was very excited to make the trip out there to play this course, as it has been rated in the top 10 in DFW for years now. I was HIGHLY disappointed in the place. The tee boxes are like small ant hills, and its hard to find level ground on them, much less GRASS!. The fairways were in food shape as well as the greens (pretty quick), but the bunkers were TERRIBLE. There were branches, trash and the edges were not trimmed. There is a lot of work for that maintenance crew to get done between the falling trees and just stuff everywhere, but I mostly saw the same 5 guys just driving around on carts, not doing a thing. I would only play this again for free or little to no cost. They really need to put some effort into the course conditions, it would be a $60-$80 Green Fee all day if they just took some time to clean it up.
Great course
Sugar Tree is one of the best courses in the Dallas Fort Worth area
great physical course, needs some attention to details
needs tee box information on hole, overhead view of hole,
could use better yardage markers on the fairways, almost non existant. locals know course, new players are lost
Corse is in great shape.
Enjoyed the course. Greens were great, fairways nice and has some challenging holes. I always enjoy this course. The Staff is very friendly and professional.
Played mid week with few people present and was one of the fastest rounds, 21/2 hours, i've played this year. great course. excellent valus.
Sugartree is an outstanding golf course that is maintained very well. The greens are smooth and quick. Fairways are well watered allowing the ball to sit up nicely. Picturesque course and great value for the buck.
Course is an Excellent Value
It rained but the course drained well as was a challenge. The signature windmill hole was breath taking and equally as challenging. The greens were excellent. The overall golfing experience was great!
Exceptional condition with a challenging design!
The tee boxes, fairways, and greens are very well maintained. The greens are pristine. Super soft but pretty fast at the same time.
awesome
played course for fisrt time, will be back many more times, well worth the hour and half drive...only problem is NO CART girls...whenits 100 outside you need cart girls, but there were plenty of water coolers
Super Course!!
One of the toughest courses you'll play. But you'll have a lot of fun.
Great Course, Great Views
Wow. This is now my favorite course. This course is very challenging with lots of water, sand traps, rolling fairways and greens. I usually shoot in the 90's but shot a 130 on this course after shooting 52 on the front 9. Lots of doglegs and blind tee shots. The course is in great condition, the greens hold your approach shot and play somewhere between fast and slow. Despite my score I loved this course. The views are great, pace of play is perfect (played on a friday morning), and the staff is great. Played on a hot deal for $25 but even at the usual golfnow rate of $39 this would have been a reasonable deal. The course is a little out of the way in Lipan but only about 45 minutes from where I live in North Fort Worth. I will play this course as much as I can in the future. When I'm able to play in the 90"s on this course I will know that my game is in order.
