Great shape considering it is still winter. They’re making good changes to the course and investing in the club house. Tough course but a real gem. You have to have a complete game.
Great layout, slightly bare conditions
I wish this course wasn’t so much in the middle of nowhere. I really enjoyed the layout because I love elevation changes. You really had to think your way through some of the holes. Course was in decent condition. It is still winter but they could’ve moved some of the Teebox markers around to get better grass.
Winter Conditions
Greens are in great shape and are receptive to approach shots. Fairways are dormant with very thin lies in many places. Looking forward to spring bringing growth to the fairways. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Played with no waiting in less than 3.5 hours. Saw 6 hawks around the course.
Love the course
Nice staff and love the course. My only complaint: they’ve got to do something with the par 5 on the back nine next to the brazos. The landing area for your tee shot is a massive ground under repair area.
Greens nice and fast!!
Greens were in very good shape for this time of year. Fairways and Tee boxes need alot of work to be considered a top tier golf course in the DFW area. They look like they are puting in the effort to bring it back into good shape. Staff was very friendly.
Potential
This course has a great layout. It is challenging for players, who have never been there due to the significant amount of blind shots.
There are some very nice aesthetics, and the course is clearly working hard to improve the wooded areas. The fairways were extremely thin, too thin to give an above average rating for. This course has lots of potential; they need to spend the money on upgrading fairways and T- boxes. They did a very good job of fertilizing\weeding the greens, and they were in above average condition.
Good course. Will be back in the spring when everything is green.
Good condition considering time of year.
Course was in good shape considering it is January. Greens were great, very fast and true.
Enjoyable course
Fairways are running fast with winter conditions. Greens are pretty firm. Practice Putting green is still recovering from renovation and does not represent the course. Range balls are now brand new. Staff is friendly. Course is not crowded on weekdays. Played in 3.5 hours. Saw several groups of deer around the course. Nice country setting.
Sugar tree
I’m very disappointed that they switched over to Pepsi and no longer sell Coke. Other than that everything is great. Still my favorite course to play.
