Cedar Crest Golf Club
About
Cedar Crest Golf Club in Murfreesboro sprawls across rolling farmland accented with groves of mature trees. The fairways on the front nine are wide open but they become narrower and tree lined on the back nine. The greens play fast and true and they are also well conditioned. There are not many sand traps to contend with but a smattering of elevation changes throughout the golf course cause an occasional uneven lie. Seasoned golfers looking for a challenge won't find it here but what you will find is a relaxed atmosphere that is ideal for a quick, casual round that is player friendly enough for beginners. In addition to the course, Cedar Chest Golf Club offers extensive practice facilities including a driving range and a two-tiered practice green.

I LIKE THE COURSE IT IS FUN TO PLAY. THE BACK NINE IS TOUGH BECAUSE FAIRWAYS ARE TIGHTER BUT FAIR. WILL PLAY AGAIN. BILL THE MAN THAT WORKS IN THE CLUB HOUSE IS REALLY A NICE GUY AND REAL FRIENDLY AND MAKES YOU FEEL WELCOME.
Awesome!!
First time playing this course, heard a lot about it, Every word was true..
This is what I call a hidden gym, you must play it for yourself to see what I'm referring too. The fairways and greens were in the best shape I've seen of any course around here this year. I will be back for more.
thanks,
Weekend disappointment
Took a chance on a Hot Deal for the first round of the season, and wish I had chosen differently. The staff were teenagers unequipped to handle the crowds, the course was in rough condition, golfing ability levels varied widely meaning most holes had someone else in our fairway, and the pace of play was painfully slow. I'll check tnis one off the list and look elsewhere.
Not a Bad Course
The course was a pretty the way, but the biggest thing was the pace of play. We had a group in front of us that had no business waiting on greens to clear (as did the group two behind us). The marshal stayed around the perimeter and never came through the interior of the course or did anything. We passed the group that was in front of us at the turn and were never held up on the back. A little pricey for the course, but all in all not bad.
I love the layout
The course was challenging for me but I love the layout and the staff friendliness. I cannot wait to come back and play here again.
Not what I expected
Arrived at course, was checked in promptly and given the opportunity to play the back nine first as a single. Tee boxes and fairways were frozen as were greens underneath, along with several bare spots and mounds of dirt in and along several fairways as temperatures had been below freezing for two weeks. Greens appeared to have been aereated recently but rolled good and were fairly quick, considering conditions of 40 degrees temperature and 12 mile per hour wind, would not hold most approach shots as they were frozen underneath. Played very quick as I joined another single to play the front nine and finished the round in just a little over 3 hours.
Good Course and Excellent Staffs
I always enjoy playing here. The staffs are excellent. There were some improvement projects going on so I can only imagine the course will be even better.
Love This Course
This course is always in great shape. It’s hardly ever backed up and it’s obvious they Work hard to keep this course in quick condition. The staff is always friendly and book for book you won’t find a better course.
Disappointing Fisnish
I enjoyed my round until I got to 18th where I couldn’t find my ball among the range balls scattered around the green. I also didn’t want to spend any time there fearing getting hit by another ball coming from the range.
They try
Much better than when it first opened in 1999, probably because of irrigation and better overall fairway maintenance. Too many ball marks on the greens by late Saturday afternoon, most likely the result of a scramble that morning, and an overeager worker watering the greens, sometimes getting in the way. Tee boxes were fuzzy and some holes aren't really shaped or given definition very well, though that's what also makes them "forgiving." Also not a good idea to have so many balls sliced from the humble practice range littering the 18th fairway.
Golf Paradise
The course was absolutely beautiful. It was in such good shape. I went on a Sunday around Noon and had no troubles waiting on anyone. Definitely a must play course. One of my favorites now.
I live in Franklin so it was about a 45 min drive for me but it was well worth it. I'd rather play that course than any other courses that I have frequented in the past.
Prices is the clubhouse are very reasonable and the experience was awesome.
Cedar Crest
Course has greatly improved over the last few years!
Great value for the money
Was just looking for a good course at a good price, and Cedar Crest is now on my list of local favs. A decent track, not very long, but challenging enough to make you work for a good score. Greens are in good shape and roll true.
Enjoyed the course
Workers were working everywhere, from laying sod to cutting fairways. Greens were put able, but that's bent greens this time of year. Fairways were real good. Gentlemen behind the counter checking in and when my round was over, and also the ladies in the snack bar were very nice.
