Cedar Crest Golf Club
About
Cedar Crest Golf Club in Murfreesboro sprawls across rolling farmland accented with groves of mature trees. The fairways on the front nine are wide open but they become narrower and tree lined on the back nine. The greens play fast and true and they are also well conditioned. There are not many sand traps to contend with but a smattering of elevation changes throughout the golf course cause an occasional uneven lie. Seasoned golfers looking for a challenge won't find it here but what you will find is a relaxed atmosphere that is ideal for a quick, casual round that is player friendly enough for beginners. In addition to the course, Cedar Chest Golf Club offers extensive practice facilities including a driving range and a two-tiered practice green.

They try
Much better than when it first opened in 1999, probably because of irrigation and better overall fairway maintenance. Too many ball marks on the greens by late Saturday afternoon, most likely the result of a scramble that morning, and an overeager worker watering the greens, sometimes getting in the way. Tee boxes were fuzzy and some holes aren't really shaped or given definition very well, though that's what also makes them "forgiving." Also not a good idea to have so many balls sliced from the humble practice range littering the 18th fairway.
Golf Paradise
The course was absolutely beautiful. It was in such good shape. I went on a Sunday around Noon and had no troubles waiting on anyone. Definitely a must play course. One of my favorites now.
I live in Franklin so it was about a 45 min drive for me but it was well worth it. I'd rather play that course than any other courses that I have frequented in the past.
Prices is the clubhouse are very reasonable and the experience was awesome.
Cedar Crest
Course has greatly improved over the last few years!
Great value for the money
Was just looking for a good course at a good price, and Cedar Crest is now on my list of local favs. A decent track, not very long, but challenging enough to make you work for a good score. Greens are in good shape and roll true.
Enjoyed the course
Workers were working everywhere, from laying sod to cutting fairways. Greens were put able, but that's bent greens this time of year. Fairways were real good. Gentlemen behind the counter checking in and when my round was over, and also the ladies in the snack bar were very nice.
Wet but good
Played in the rain but the course was still great. Great condition and good greens even in the wet. Don't sleep on this course. I will be back.
like the course
Golf course was in good condition, greens a little slow but it was HOT so they have to protect the greens. The staff there is really friendly and are glad to get your business. I will play this course again and so will my friends.
A Must Play
Great conditions, friendly staff and a fun layout that has contrasting 9's. Relatively open on the front, much tighter and more accuracy needed on the back nine.
Greens have been in excellent condition every time I play.
If you're hitting the ball well, you'll be able to score nicely. If not, prepare yourself for a higher than average score.
Great day on beautiful course
Cedar Crest course was in great shape!
The best kept course we've play all year!
Although it didn't show on my score card, I had a great time!
Trying to get better each time I play!
Good day at Cedar Crest
The course was in good shape and I appreciate the grounds staff is always improving it.
The course is good, but undergoing repairs
I play here often. Several of the greens fringes are being re-sodded. So, it made it more challenging to chip. The greens were slow, and it was hard to gauge the speed. Still, it was a lot of fun.
condition
Much better condition than last year. Needs a course Marshall, players in front spend way to much time looking for balls, not just there own, not even offering to allow to play through. Overall I like the course and will continue to play there. Course is challenging, but so much that the average golfer cannot enjoy.
Slower than it should be, stay in the fairway.
I like the layout of this course, but it always plays slower than it should. We played on a weekday (Thursday) and by the time we got to number 5 there were 2 foursomes waiting on the tee box. And remember this was not Saturday or Sunday, this was Thursday. I have played there lots and never seen a marshall on the course even on Saturday rounds. The other issue is the rough's are poorly kept. The cerdar trees are nice but if you hit into them, most of the time you can't even go in there to look for your ball with the underbrush. Lots of people do and that adds to the slowness. The fariways on the back 9 are tight, perhaps that is part of the strategy to get people to hit short and straight but us guys who play a few times a year want to hit the driver. If they would clean up the underbrush and enforce some basic rules this course would be great. But unfortauntely everytime I play here lately I regret it.
Nice surprise!
Loved this course. First time playing and really enjoyed it. The cedar trees were beautiful and it was nice to have some green in the winter.
Can't wait to go back!
Good course
The greens were healing from annual maintenance. Yet, we still had a great time playing course. I will play here again. The only draw back was the play was slow on the back nine, which was not the fault of the ouches. We ended up playing behind a slow group.
Great Day
I've always been treated like a club member when I call or just walk in. Thanks to all of your staff, you guys do a great job.
Thanks
Kenny
Course was in good condition for the winter and greens were in good shape and rolling well. Weather was cool and wet but I enjoyed my round of golf.
Cedar Crest
Cedar Crest is a great course, the staff is professional and courteous. My brother and I are addicted to this place.
Very nice course
The fairways were green and the greens were greener. Excellent considering it has not rained in almost 2 months. The staff is to be commended.
