Bear Trap Dunes Golf Club - Black Bear/Grizzly Course
About
Bear Trap Dunes Golf Club boasts 27 holes of championship golf that are situated on a scenic stretch of coastline, just a few miles west of Bethany Beach. The holes are played in three different 18-hole combinations that tumble across sandy dunes and grassy hollows. The natural contours of the coastal landscape largely determined the movement and flow of all three nine-hole courses. The nines, Grizzle, Kodiak, and Black Bear, all have winding fairways bordered by native wetland grasses and lush, oversized greens that boast some of the best conditions on the Eastern Shore. The Black Bear/Grizzly combination is the longest of the three golf courses. Not only does the coastal terrain provide many natural hazards, including several water features, there are also strategically placed bunkers with which to contend.

Fun Afternoon
I had a n enjoyable round this afternoon. There were no delays and the check in was very efficient. I wish they had the beverage cart in service today.
Not quite up to standard for a resort course in peak season
We played on a Monday afternoon and found minimal operations on a very hot day - range closed, no snack bar or beverage cart, range closed. Took a long time to get beverages in the club house at the turn. Course was challenging and fun to play, greens were a bit beaten up with lots of unrepaired ball marks.
Decent Course
I enjoyed the course overall. However, it was very wet due to the recent hurricane remnants. I liked the layout.
The main issue i had was that the course was not well maintained in areas. The tee boxes were overused so that you were teeing off in dirt or mud. The greens were in great shape and the fairways were between fair to good.
Given the conditions of the course for the price, i would not recommend the course. Drop $30 to $40 and maybe, especially since there were a lot of other courses in the area that were more in the lower price range..
I played Pinehurst #2, and that was a course worth the money.
Awful
I could name 15 other courses in the area that are in far better shape at half the cost. I would strongly recommend playing else where. Awful fairways. Tee boxes look like midway par 3 and they are still charging 140+. Absolute joke. Won’t be playing here again
Golf with my son
Good time we had a very slow group in front of us but we enjoyed the day
Decent course but not worth $130.
It was nice a course but not on the same level as Lighthouse point or Baywood
Nice course but over priced.
The course is in good shape and the layout is fun. Greens were smooth but a little slow. Only negative is the course is over priced.
Well run and well maintained
Excellent Staff, well maintained course. Pace of play was great. Paired with another twosome who was friendly and nice to play with. No pool noodles but we left the flags in and didn't have to touch much.
Bear Trap Review
Very nice course with three nines. Good condition which will improve as we move into summer. Still some wet areas due to high amount of rain in area lately. Greens fairly large so some putts can be lengthy. Very well maintained at all times.
Got there and no one was there we played but would have like to buy 6 pack for our round but no one was there
Overpriced
For the amount they charge. It’s no where near that in value. I would look to play on another course. Not a fan of the lay out or the staff.
Great place to play. Very friendly staff.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Great practice areas. Course was in very good shape even after some heavy rain in the days before. Still some soft wet spots as expected . The greens rolled very nicely.
