Heritage Golf Links - Heritage Nine

Tee boxes are 4/10, Fairways are 7/10, Greens are 6/10, layout is 8/10, golf carts are 6/10. 3.5 star rating but adding half a star since they have 27 holes. Solid 4 star spot for casual golf. Not where’d I’d go for work golf however.

I’ve played this course several times as it is the closest course to my home. It’s interesting and fairly well maintained. I am frustrated though by several of the holes that end of being punishing for a senior golfer like me, even playing the forward tees. An example is #3 hole on the Heritage course. There is a long carry over a pond from the tee. Last time, despite hitting one of my best shots from the tee, it came up about 10 feet short of carrying the water. In fact, none of the 4 of us carried the water, and our group included a 30-something golfer playing the senior tees with us.

Some bunkers are ridiculously deep. There are many deep drainage basins in the fairways, in addition to many fairway bunkers. Several holes have extremely uneven surfaces and big hills. I’ve never seen anyone walk this course. It would be a very difficult walk.

As I said, interesting but be warned about the features that will kick your butt.

The course has too many bunkers and it’s hard to keep them in shape. I was told that the management will focus on fixing the bunkers to bring them to a good shape and I look forward to seeing that.

I’ll forever love this course because i got my first hole in one last time i played it but i had a 2:20 tee time and only made it through 11 holes. When i pulled up to the tee box there were 4 groups waiting to hit. They need to do better spreading out tee times man. They have three nines and still managed to have 2 groups minimum on each hole. Other than the place the course it’s decent and has a challenging layout. I’d love to play it at a normal pace.

It was my first time playing at this course. It was a frosted delay day. The time pushed back as expected during the winter. However, the starter seemed lost. Players were lining up and awaited instruction to play which of the 3 courses that were available. It looked like about 40 players were lining up. Other courses that I played at during a frosted delay, the starter would start us off with a shot gun - nope, not this one. The starter didn't have my tee time listed. I have to show my receipt that the club house provided.

Secondly, there were slow players. The signs were everywhere that said it was strictly enforced - no enforcement.

Five plus hours to play is not an ideal course.

Will I play there again? MAYBE. Why? I'd like to give a second chance.

The new renovations on the clubhouse and grill are fantastic. Greens are in great condition, especially for this time of year. The tee times were spread further apart which seemed to help pace of play. Will be returning soon.
