Almost perfect!!
The condition of the fairways and greens are very very good for this time of the year. The layout and and views are superb. I wish the on course restrooms were cleaner and there is no dining room. Otherwise, I love this course. Well worth a visit.
Learn & practice the meaning of Customer Service
I’m just sharing my experience and observation in hoping someone will heed to my experience and make some changes!
Weather Conditions were cloudy & chance of rain. Got to the 10th hole and it started drizzling.. Decided to go in.. Called clubhouse & lady in clubhouse was not sure of the rain check rules but said I guess we can give you rain check. Got to clubhouse and she said she checked with “Bob” the general manager and he said she could not give us a rain check.
First of all, Bob, heighten your awareness that you are competing with other courses in the community that would probably have issued the customer “Golfer” a rain check! Reason I would say this is because a golfing buddy of mine went to Country Club of Gwinnett in afternoon on Friday.. It started getting colder.. Went to clubhouse and expressed the conditions and he was given rain checks to come back on a warmer day!! That’s what is definition of Good customer service. That experience makes you want to go back and play at the course!!
Another observation. The rules that you have implemented is really an inconvenience to your customers “Golfers”
Check In
Cart guy trying tell you were to park golf cart on the return after you have parked and started unloading the cart
Golfer arrived @9:00am for his 9:30 ttime and was told to come back at 9:20
You don’t have enough bag holders to store golf bags when you are not allowing golfers to check in and put their bags on the carts!!
Inconvenience to golfers!!
And the other comment about being of another race and get treated differently.. As you can see it’s just the course lack of emphasis on providing “Good Customer Service”
Shadow of the Mountain
We were pleasantly surprised at the condition of the Course which was in fact much better than Stone Mountain Lakemont Course we played on the 22nd at half the cost!!!!
Probably my last round at Southland.
Have played this course several dozen times over the years. Today we waited on EVERY T box from 1 to 17. Play was so slow and NOBODY was managing or marshalling We get to 18 and we are told to head in and the guy says we were given plenty of time to play. Totally unacceptable, play was slow ALL day and nobody did anything about it.. Very seriously doubt I will play here again. Entire staff from the man answering the phone to the woman who checked us in to the man who ran us off in the evening has an attitude that is not customer aligned.
Southland Golf
Golf was great, course was in great shape other than a lot of leaves on the ground, Only issue I had is that this course is not rated so you are unable to post a score for handicap purposes.
Sand rakes in disrepair, green lots of not repaired ball marks and senior tee boxes very hard. Roughs need to be blown of leaves better
Remarkable condition for November
The course is in remarkable condition for the 2nd week of November, the tee boxes, greens and fairways were all in good condition. There were many leaves to contend with but no course maintenance crew can compete with mother nature. There weren't many people playing at the time we were there and they were all proficient golfers so the pace of play was excellent. My partner and I will definitely be playing there again in the near future.
Horrible Experience
Do not go here especially if you are a different race. They racially profile you.
I had many concern with flow and customer service from Marshall(extremely rude and introduce him self as Bob(theGM).
GM Bob heard my concern and still hasn’t called back.
They said owner cares about customer and it doesnt look like it.
Beginner golfer
Great course for a beginner golfer. Wide fairways and nice sizes greens.
Much improved!
New carts, greens in good shape, sand in the traps, more consistent fairways and now a Marshall to keep things moving. Much improved!
Pace
Pace was brutal. Haven't played here in a while. Course conditions were fine for what it cost. Cart paths need work but, the biggest issue was pace. Took us well over five hours to play. Tee boxes were backed up on every hole after 2 and no Marshall to be found.
Inconsistent course management
The flag system for pin placement is not consistent, senior tees are not placed on a lot of holes in a level area and bunker rake not existent or in bad repair
