Meadowbrook Municipal Golf Course
About
Eight years before he built Colonial Country Club, John Bredemus came to Fort Worth to build Meadowbrook Municipal Golf Course. The city bought the facility years later and brought Ralph Plummer in for renovations in 1962, when the creation of dams formed five new lakes and improved the irrigation system. No. 5 should probably be a par 5 for most hackers -- it plays 475 yards with water on the left of the dogleg, trees are on the right, and the approach must carry a creek. Don't worry about a bogey on this one. The 16th is another long par 4 that features an approach over water to the green. The two best birdie opportunities are nos. 7 and 14, both short par 4s that should leave you with only a short iron into the green.

Sad Course Makes Mad Golfer
I played this course awhile back and thought it was very good. It is far from that today I guess the city of Fort Worth is looking to close this course like Sycamore Creek by not properly maintaining it. After a week of rain these fairways are dry to the bone with barely any grass, the greens have patches of dead grass and sand spots. Weeds everywhere and overgrowth right off the fairways with lots of ankle biting bugs. The city of Fort Worth should be ashamed to take money for this course and ashamed of how they are running a once nice course into the ground. If my city can’t run a golf course makes me wonder what else they are screwing up!!!
Never Again
I only played 5 holes. No Marshall at the course so at me appointment tee time there was a 3 and 2 player group in front of me. No attempt to manage the pace of play. After 5 I tried to skip to hole 10 but ran into golfers that told me they were backed up too. Also course has alot of topography so once you hit you can't see the ball land. So unless you hit straight, prepare for lots of lost balls.
Never Again
Great value city course
Great value. Course is in good shape greens have a some small bare spots but other than that are good. Biggest down side is no driving range.
Greens are borderline illegal
Nearly every single hole was cut into a slope that made us question if it met green regulations or not. There was literally zero grab in any of the greens. If you couldn’t spin it well, every putt had a great chance of rolling off the green. No need to make it Royal Melbourne North fellas
Golf
There is not a Marshall to speed of the slow play. I was in a twosome through 12 holes, 2 more joined us. It took 4 1/2 hours to play the round today due to the hackers in front of us. They did not ask if we wanted to play through knowing clearly they were holding us up. If there was a Marshall on the course I feel the pace would have been better.
Great layout and course is in great shape.
I took advantage of a "Hot deal" and booked for $20(tax included). The great price had me worried until I pulled into the parking lot and saw a couple of the greens. Course was in great shape from tee to green. A few soggy spots from watering and it gathering in some places around the green that made for a few plugged lies. Rather deal with that vs. lack of irrigation. As always this course is a challenge and if you don't control your misses it can bite. Will definitely be back!
For beginners or high handicappers
They don’t have fairway sprinklers so the fairways are pretty dry in most spots, but the greens are kept very well and not too challenging. Fairways are pretty forgiving and open, not to much water as long as you play your shots right. Pay for what you get, ultimately it’s a good course just to get some practice and even boost your confidence because it’s not very challenging.
My Old Nemesis
This is a course that you might take it personally when things go wrong. The unforgiveness in untenable. I will be back, probably alone to get my revenge!
Course is in decent shape just stay in play!
Classic Course
Well they just design them like this any more. It has been a long time that I played a course where one hole ends, and the next starts. No need to move the cart. The course was easy to find, thanks to the local knowledge of my team members. The best part of the course were most of the greens. Some were patchy in spots. All the bunkers were mud and destroyed by recent rains. Be ready for some blind shots and elevations changes. I did not expect that in Texas. They have let this course go!
Course in great shape
This course is in great shape for this time of year. Fairways are still fairly green and the greens while a little long and fairly slow are very consistant.
A classic layout....
For those that might remember when golf was a shotmaker's game, then Meadowbrook Golf Course in Fort Worth fits your game. This course is not overly long, but placement of your shots is a key on almost every hole. The greens range between fairly flat to severe in a few cases. No blnd shots, but you better pay attention to the positioning of bunkers and hazards on your shots. As with all municiipal courses, the maintenance is decent, but not suprelative. The course gets a lot of play by people that have been around the game for awhile. This course is definitely worth the time!
Nice course, no marshalls
Nice, challenging course. We have played there since childhood. The price is right too...but if you come with a foursome, get ready to let singles and twosomes go through. They don't pair em up. Also, some groups try to monopolize the couse and play like their hair is on fire so watch out...they will hit into you. And its NOT an isolated incident. One man in each cart and play as fast as they can. Too bad.
